What people say

Free Alternative to most

The actual reason would be the free of cost of course, also the interface looks great but not that attractive, ai is ok, only using it for a short time so still there are lot to uncover, in the end I have high hopes for it and it seems it might really live up to my expectation. Thank you pdfgear team for providing us with your work

Amazing piece of software for free. I found 1 bug tho.

Amazing piece of software for free! Ill never go back to Adobe Acrobat Reader. But one piece of advise when doing a text comment after you click off the comment box window it lags hard for a few seconds processing, I know this because my AIO kicks all 3 fans on high. I have an i9 9900K processor if that makes a difference. Im curious to see if you fix this bug.

Not a good experience

After reasonable learning curve I finally completed edit of preformatted .pdf form. As I was sending the completed form back to supplier I wanted to make sure no changes could be made at their end so I put in a security password. Then tried to convert to .doc format but wouldn't save the .doc as it was "password protected". Tried to remove the password protect but it would not save as it was "password protected". So did the whole thing again, didn't password protect and then successfully converted to .doc but the .doc would not open in some of my Word programs. Then when I tried to convert the .doc back to .pdf in PDFgear it said the .doc format was not correct!!! Also, once the .pdf has a security password it won't open without the password so could not sent it to my supplier. Surely a read only option without password should be available.Have now uninstalled PDFgear and do not recommend.

It's probably fine for general PDF…

It's probably fine for general PDF files but I am trying to edit a PDF manuscript with a page background and a specific font. It I replace text it creates compressed letters on the next line. Sometimes it will not let me go back a space. But most annoying is that the image used as a page background sometimes gets a lot darker after trying to edit the text

Struggling with DC, which is way to resources demanding

Today I discovered PDFgear after struggling with the costs and the complex, resource-heavy way Acrobat installs and runs. Just opening Acrobat DC is a task in itself. After just starting to use PDFgear, I found an excellent and intuitive interface, and most importantly for me, my computer uses far fewer resources now. I will keep testing it for more complex PDF edits.
