Absolute SCAM. Advertised throughout as FREE.
It is not free at all. They have removed 49;95 euros from my account. How they got my card details I do not know. As I understand from other reviewers they then look to take a subscription of 60 dollars a month!!

Hi, we are sorry for your loss. To clarify:
1. PDFgear is completely free to use.
2. There’s literally no way we can charge you--We don’t have any billing, subscription, or account system in the product.
3. We strongly recommend verifying the source of the charge, as it does not seem related to PDFgear.
4. Make sure you’re downloading from the official PDFgear website. There might be misleading sources out there.
We’d also appreciate it if you could send us any screenshots or evidence via [email protected] We’re keen to look into this. Thanks!
Glad this is free...yet hours and hours are wasted.
. 5-10 min wait time just to save a 300p doc with a few pics
. constantly corrupts docs
. simply deleting a few pgs and/or inserting a few pgs it corrupts a doc.
. all the corrupts docs won't open in pdfgear YET does open with another pdf
Why don't they fix this program!?! It's been like this for over 1-2 years, that we know of.

Hi, sorry to hear about this. We haven’t seen many similar reports, but there could be specific cases we’re not aware of.
Could you let us know which operating system and PDFgear version you’re using? Please send an email to [email protected] with screenshots or screen recordings of the issue. We are keen to look into it as soon as possible.
Good PDF editor, but a few concerning things:
1. Could not compress PDFs without an internet connection. This is a simple job and should be done completely on my computer. This makes me think the info is sent to (stored?) on the company's servers.
2. While it was installed, I COULD NOT use the default preview app on my Mac for PDFs. If I tried to open a PDF using Preview, I would get an error that the attachment was unsafe and should be deleted, even when I created the document.

Hey Joe, thank you for your feedback.
1. In fact, PDF compression can be completed without an internet connection with PDFgear. It works fully offline on both Windows and macOS. Could you please let us know which OS you are using and which version of PDFgear you have installed?
2. As for the Preview issue on macOS, the warning message you described is generated by macOS security policies, not by PDFgear. We recommend going to System Settings > Privacy & Security. Scroll to the bottom and check whether there is any security prompt asking you to allow or approve an app. Approving the relevant item may resolve the issue. If the problem persists, please feel free to share your macOS version and contact us at [email protected] We’d be happy to investigate further and provide direct assistance.
So far, PDFgear's PDF reader / writer seems to work as I had hoped. I have only opened an IRS tax form and was able to enter text ok although there is one point that I am concerned about: in the field for a social security number, on screen, the digits do not appear inside the little boxes. I will only be able to resolve this concern by printing the document to check if the numbers land in their respective boxes or are spread across the field's area.
Genuinely FREE App. (NOT just a limited time 'Free' 'trial'). Currently NO 'in-App' purchases necessary. Does NOT demand any payment info. from you at any time! No obvious malware etc. found so far. Apparently no more 'data' collection than any of your usual expensive 'Brand' Name 'trusted' apps.
Works very well in all claimed aspects, including text editing, on straightforward documents like letters and simple forms. Does struggle with editing more complex pdf's like address and stock labels with logos, barcodes and complex text combinations - (generally on 'badly' designed, over complicated pdf's anway). Very versatile and useful tool - Use gets much better with a bit of practice. For Free, Highly Recommended
Its the only one that isn't paywalled and works reliably
This is the only free software that is reliable and satisfies all of my needs. only complaint is that the UI could use a little work it's a little clunky and not extremely intuitive.
It's a great tool for editing .pdf files!
But it crashed on me once, and then you've lost all your editing. Other than that, pretty good & immensely usful.
Very good, like the user interface, very user friendly. I use it occationally at home for private documents. It has all the functions I need and a lot more.
