I have used Podbean as my primary podcasting hub since 2021. The tech support, the stability of the platform, the listening to user feedback, the ease of using the platform and the range of tools including customization tools are unmatched. I highly recommend Podbean.
The response was quick and they understood my problem. I have tried other apps for podcasts, but Podbean is the easiest to use daily.
I’ve been with Podbean since the launch of my show, some 6 years ago. I rarely contact their customer service as the site performs so well, but they have an incredibly helpful team. The features the site has will improve the quality of your recordings and it’s so easily accessible. If you’re a creator or listener, I highly recommend Podbean.
Podbean is the Ford Fiesta of hosting platforms. No frills, pretty reliable, not pricey, gets the job done. The analytics are extremely basic and one of the main reasons I won't be renewing my subscription after my first year with them. I've also had issues with their customer support after a member of staff gave me false info which ended up costing me and they're refusing to refund it despite it being glaringly obvious on the email trail it is them at fault.
I am now using the Podbean app for more than 4 years. I am very mucu satisfied with their services. I wish them good for the future.
Nowadays, there are few places that offer actual customer service where a human being will receive your question, respond to it, and also follow up. I am very happy with Podbean because it offers true customer service in an age where it is becoming exceedingly rare.
Podbean offers some very good insights into any kindof subject or topic that you're into. I'm using it as out of choice, a preference to placed YouTube videos on my FB & insta. The discussions on podbean for example, on the *UFO/uap* subject is useful and very informative. I like how there's a huge quantity of older podcasts, which is perfect when alternatively I find placed modern YouTube vids etc, are only usually, a setup by the deep state, sometimes to twist or cover the truth for their own games and agenda. Podbean is vast and it really does deep dive into the knowledge 1 seeks in learning what's going on. Just 1 negative point: Having now downloaded the podbean app I'm finding little clippers of art placed next to themes for me to see whenever I login. Someone is doing this on purpose at Podbean to "target" me, knowingly as my listening seems to be tracked. So adverts, for someone else's agenda are placed into podbean next to where I select my listening! How corrupt. Surprise surprise. (Is someone trying to hide Easter eggs there?)
The folks from Podbean answered promptly and explained how to solve my issue. Highly recommend.
What an amazing experience. Podbean investigated a problem I had. They keep me timely informed, and really worked to get a quick resolution. This was first class customer service!
My account was intertwined with another one where I was an administrator. "Something" went wrong and it was hard ot disengage and then I could not get into my own account. But, we did get it resolved
I emailed Podbean about my issue and they replied the same evening with the steps to take to correct the problem. Before I tried to correct the problem Podbean followed up with me to find out if the problem was solved. I was able to solve the problem taking the steps provided to me.
Very fast response time. Very helpful, clear and direct instructions on how to solve my issue or take the next step. Really great to work with LIVE HUMAN agents who are knowledgeable and have great customer service instead of AI bots that are worthless! I have switched from Spotify for Creators over to Podbean. EXCELLENT tech support. Spotify for Creators leaves you hanging in the wind.
I am completely grateful for PodBean team in assisting me so promptly with my needs and for giving feedback, waiting to see if I had the situation resolved. I love the platform, quick to learn and produce. Just need to dedicate time to do it right. Thank you!
★☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) RUNNING AWAY! I rarely leave negative reviews, but Podbean has been the single most damaging software decision I’ve made while launching my podcast. I invested over $100,000 producing and editing a professional video podcast and purchased the Unlimited Plus for Business plan—the highest tier Podbean offers—because I expected a platform built for serious creators. Instead, my launch was thrown into chaos. The biggest issue is Spotify video support. Podbean heavily promotes Spotify integration through its RSS feed, but what isn’t made sufficiently clear is that Spotify video podcasts cannot be distributed through a third-party RSS feed. If you connect your Podbean RSS feed to Spotify, your video episodes are delivered as audio-only, meaning your audience doesn’t receive the video version and you cannot access Spotify’s video monetization. If you’re investing in video, this is a major limitation that should be disclosed prominently—not discovered during launch. The Apple Podcasts experience has been just as frustrating. Podbean markets support for Apple HLS video podcasts throughout its website, yet provides virtually no practical documentation explaining how to actually publish a video podcast to Apple. I expedited approval on Apple’s side, but Podbean became the bottleneck because there were no clear setup guides, walkthroughs, or knowledgeable support available when I needed them most. Even something as basic as podcast artwork became an unnecessary ordeal. Podbean’s uploader enforces a 2 MB artwork limit, while Apple’s podcast artwork requirements encourage much larger, higher-resolution images. That mismatch cost me nearly three hours of troubleshooting before I realized the issue wasn’t my artwork—it was Podbean’s outdated upload restrictions. Customer support only made things worse. When I reached out with technical questions during launch, I waited nearly 48 hours for a response. The “solution” was a link to a six-year-old generic setup webinar that didn’t answer my questions. For customers paying for the highest business tier, that’s simply unacceptable. The platform feels behind the times. The interface is dated, the workflow isn’t designed for today’s video-first creators, the AI capabilities are minimal compared to competitors, and documentation is surprisingly sparse for features that are heavily promoted. I chose Podbean because it consistently appeared on “Best Podcast Hosting” lists. In hindsight, many of those recommendations seem disconnected from the realities of launching a modern video podcast. If you’re creating a simple audio podcast, Podbean may still work. If you’re investing serious money into a professional video podcast, especially if Apple Podcasts video and Spotify video are part of your distribution strategy, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I genuinely wish I’d read a review like this before committing my entire launch to Podbean.
Good Afternoon, Thank you for sharing this in such detail. We understand how frustrating a launch can be when the platform does not match expectations, especially on the Business tier. Spotify Video Distribution: You are correct about the limitation. Spotify does not accept video episodes through a third-party RSS feed. Spotify only supports audio (MP3) via RSS. Video content on Spotify must be uploaded directly through Spotify’s own creator dashboard. This is not a Podbean-specific restriction — no third-party hosting platform can push video to Spotify via RSS. From our side, the supported structure is: - Submit your audio-only RSS feed to Spotify and other audio platforms. - Submit your video-only feed to platforms that support video, such as Apple Podcasts. Apple Podcasts HLS Video: For Apple HLS video delivery, there is a required one-time API key setup inside Podbean. Once completed, newly published video episodes are automatically delivered to Apple in HLS adaptive streaming format. The required process is: - Ensure the podcast is submitted to Apple Podcasts. - Download your Apple Podcasts API key from Apple Podcasts Connect. - Go to Distribution → Podcast Apps → Apple Podcasts. - Upload the API key in the Apple Podcasts HLS Video Streaming section and save. Artwork File Size: Podcast artwork uploaded to Podbean must meet our file size requirements. Apple’s resolution recommendations do not override the upload size limits enforced by the hosting platform. If artwork exceeds the upload size limit, it will need to be optimized before uploading. Support Experience: We are sorry that your support experience felt inadequate during launch. A delayed response during a time-sensitive rollout is understandably frustrating, and that is not the experience we aim to provide. On Video-First Workflows: We support both audio and video podcasting, but distribution rules are ultimately determined by each platform, including Spotify and Apple. Where those platforms restrict RSS-based video distribution, we are bound by those external limitations. Your feedback about clearer disclosure, deeper documentation, and better workflow clarity for video creators is valid. If you would like, please respond to the direct info request and the specific setup you are using for Spotify and Apple, and we can review the distribution structure with you. We appreciate you taking the time to lay out your experience in detail. Sincerely, The Podbean Customer Success Team
Liked them before they broke GDPR by sending spam emails. Shame.
Hi Lars, Thanks for letting us know. We’re sorry for your experience, and we’ve brought this up to our management team for improved processes. Your experience does not reflect the level of service we aim to provide, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. Best and thanks much, The Podbean Customer Success Team
the podbean rep solved my problem Robbie White
Tech support is a joke. If you pay for a no-ads subscription, it only works for a few months before it stops. Video ads begin to interrupt the podcast. If you ask for tech support, they ask you to record the incident. It's random, people! Am I supposed to 'watch' an audio podcast then with my finger randomly over a record button just to do your job? When my subscription ends, I am moving over to another platform that doesn't hire jokers to assist people. Scam. Run as fast as you can.
Hi Barbara, Apologies that this has been your experience! We completely understand that our in App Premium+ Subscription did not meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it is to encounter ads when you expected an ad-free experience, and we regret that our support interaction added to that frustration. Management has been made aware of the interaction. If you decide to listen to podcasts on another platform, we wish you every success and an excellent listening experience there. Sincerely, The Podbean Customer Success Team
I recently signed up to podbean for a yearly subscription. At the time I didn't realize I had over drafted my bank account. When I figured out my mistake I reached out to podbean immediately. Within a day or so they had refunded my money. Even though I was on podbean for only short time, my experience was very good. I do plan on returning soon, but on a monthly subscription.
I've been using Podbean to host my podcast "Life in Leam" for a year now. The service has been faultless throughout. On the odd occasion that I need to raise a ticket, the response is always fast and relevant. Thank you.
