Laptop Battery Having posted my review I am pleased to say that I have recieved a full refund from Powerguider after two months and I will uprate my review
Laptop Battery
After two months of communications with this company I have not had a refund for the faulty battery they sold me, I returned the faulty one and received another battery which was no use to me as I had already purchased a battery from a reliable supplier due to the timescale and failure of them to communicate with me. They have now asked me to return the battery and they say a refund or replacement will be given I have asked for them to make sure it will be a refund not a replacement under the sale of goods act (a) refund the original cost and (b) the carriage I sent the faulty one back and confirm that it will be a refund not a replacement then I will return the second battery. We will see what happens?
Ordered a Laptop Battery from these tricksters on a next day delivery basis and paid additional £10 charge as battery urgently required.
Battery did not arrive next day. Attempted contact by email but no response.
As urgent I ordered a replacement battery from another UK supplier.
The battery was delivered almost a week late, and finally received an email same day as delivery attempting to explain the delay....same excuse as in other reviews.
They had promised to refund £10 next day delivery charge, but am still waiting for this!
This Company is not run from the United Kingdom. They have no physical UK address, No Phone Number to contact. The Tracking on the website doesnt work, and the web assistant is never available. The email responses are completely inadequate.
Dont be fooled avoid Powerguider at all costs.
Like others - wish I'd found these reviews before ordering. Ordered replacement battery for Toshiba laptop. Like another reviewer received email saying it had been out of stock but had now been despatched. And it arrived - so far so good. But it won't charge - says charging but 0% available. Emailed - no response; tried on line support chat - sorry we're not online at the moment.
Seems like they're a bunch of cowboys - avoid!
I ordered a battery for my in-laws' old laptop from these cowboys. I specified Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded delivery (2-4 days) for £2.00. They took £6.00 for their special delivery next day service - without permission. I emailed them to complain and they ignored me.
I then got this email - three days after my order!
"Sorry about the delay, you that order is out of stock temporarily, due to unexpected highly demand, restock has arrived today. We are glad to inform you that your order has been processed and dispatched by Hermes Tracked. It usually takes 3 to 5 business days for the items to arrive at out customers. If you are not available when the postman attempts delivery a 'while you were out' notice will be left. You will have to go to your local delivery office to collect the parcel within seven days."
So they sent it far too late, by a different service to the one I specified (and paid for), and only decided to tell me three days later - useless.
I replied saying In needed it within 2 days - no reply.
The battery finally arrived three days later (via Hermes). I tried to get a response from them to obtain a returns code, they ignored me completely. I raised a case with Paypal and they then immediately replied with a message that made no sense.
"Thank you for contacting us and sorry about the delay, due to you that order is out of stock temporarily.
1. You can keep the battery as our apology, since it will cost much more time to return the item. We'll refund £6 GBP. It will be the most convenient and quickest way for us to solve this issue. Do you agree?
2. Would you please send the battery back to us and keep in its original packaging?
We suggest not using royal mail to return the package. Because the royal mail prohibit to sending the battery. Maybe you can use the other courier such as myHermes or other courier at your convenience.
We also suggest that the parcel comment is: Laptop parts, not Laptop battery, which will be more easier and successful."
What - eh? Do I keep it or return it? If I keep it 'as their apology' I'm going to have to pay for it anyway? I decided to return it - it arrived too late for me to install on my in-law's laptop so I got one from another source.
It was sent via Hermes signed for, was delivered to their address a week ago but STILL NO REFUND issued. As well as contacting Trading Standards, I am considering the small claims court, so with the fees for doing that they will lose double the original cost.
Please, please, avoid like the plague, they are absolute cowboys.
UPDATE NOV 2018: After an endless stream of complaints from me, and trying PayPal to help (tip - they are another USELESS company when it comes to actually getting any assistance!!) I finally got my money back.
Now though they are trying to get me to give them 5 stars (see below). NO, you are still a rubbish company with appalling service and I cannot recommend you!
"Thank you for your time.
"We are so sorry for that, please don't worry, we have issued a full refund to your PayPal account, please check your balance. Do you like resend a replacement? We can resend a replacement for free as our apology.
"I noticed you dispute PayPal and 1 star review Trustpilot. We really feel so sorry about this situation. It is difficult to do a business online. So hope we can understand each other. We request remember to leave us a positive feedback. 4~5 Star will be much appreciated.
"Sorry for the trouble brought to you, please accept our sincerest apologize."
No response so far, I ordered and received a laptop battery after a couple of weeks, My laptop said no battery detected so I emailed twice, no response! Then I tried to contact them through the website, no response, than I emailed and asked for a return code, no response so far.
After a couple of weeks waiting I have started emailing again with the same lack of response so far, I believe that I have wasted my money and my time!
I will try one more time and then call it quits, please don't buy from this site without the safety of at least knowing that you can get your money back sometime.
Wish I had read these reviews of powerguider before giving them my money. They make completely false promises on their website. I paid extra for quick delivery but nothing has arrived. No confirmation of purchase, no tracking information. Avoid this company.
Ordered a laptop battery which was faulty. No reply to emails.
Entered a dispute with PayPal and after returning battery to seller was told by PayPal that my dispute was closed with no refund.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Very bad experience. Ordered a battery not arrived on time after paying extra. Battery not compatible and no contact after several emails and messages left on online chat. I just want to send it back and get a refund. Next step.trading standards.
Following my previous review for Powerguider I received an email from them offering me a full refund and an apology.
I have since received my refund in full including p&p and I shall now return my computer part to them. It is a pity that they did not reply to my previous email which would have avoided my first review. They have now sent me an address to return the goods.
Lets hope they improve their customer relations and respond to queries and gripes immediately
I wish I had done more research too!
2 emails and the onsite message Live Help no response.
Battery does not work; no return address; no communication.
Leaving a negative review on Trustpilot seemed to get a response.
They then sent me an email.
They refunded me quickly and said I could keep the battery, which given it doesn't work was not a particuarly generous gesture.
I am pretty sure this is one of those websites which you assume is based in the UK, but the goods are sent from China.
It had a Verisign authentification badge to claim you are safe which I am now of the opinion is fake. They have copied the logo but are not a SECURE Website..
And this is the proof of what you can expect.
Fake security and unusable products..
If only i had done more research on this company , absolute joke, I purchased a sony laptop battery worked fine at first then all of a sudden laptop could not detect the battery, all in under one month, emailed the company 4 times now, no response.
AMENDED REVIEW - DO NOT EXPECT ANY ORDER ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
AMENDED REVIEW
I placed an order for a laptop battery with this company, not realising that they are not based in the UK. They took the money from Paypal immediately, but did not issue any form of order acknowledgement whatsoever, it just went into a black hole. The (Pacific time) "Live Help" does not respond at all. They did not reply to my email. I genuinely believed I was the victim of an overseas scam. Then, out of the blue, a week or so later I received the battery! No notification, nothing. And after 13 days I finally received a response to my email! So they do exist, and they do supply the goods, but don't expect any acknowledgement or notification.
I ordered a battery for my Toshiba laptop. It did not work. I tried to contact Powerguider without success. I claimed on PayPal. Powerguider were then very responsive and refunded promptly.
Don't Ordered a laptop battery from this…Update to this review
Ordered a laptop battery from this company on 6/2/18 costing £30.26, which I paid through Paypal. On th7/2/18 I got an email asking for my full postal address which I sent the same day.
After 10 days no goods had been received, so I emailed them asking when I might receive the goods, no response.
The following day I emailed them again and requested a refund of my money. To date I have had no response from the company.
At present Paypal have taken up my complaint and are trying to recover my money. My advice to any one would be to stay away from this company.
I give a three star review for the following reasons
I give a three star review for the following reasons:
- After I placed the order, I received a Paypal notice that money being taken but no confirmation of order. After two days of no delivery notice, I contacted the company for an estimate delivery time. I received a reply after one day later informing me the battery being dispatched. I received the battery after one week+ after ordering even it says on the website that delivery time is 3 days.
The battery is fine. It lasts about two hours on my DELL Precision M4600, which is a powerful laptop. I do not reply on the battery to do the heavy computing.
I bought second battery for different laptop (DELL Precision M6600) and it arrived in a similar time scale. Because of the early experience, I did not expect too much on good communication on delivery time.
Product is fine. Customer communication needs to improve. Battery will arrive but later that it says on the website.
Agree with other comment, do not like the "incentive" for giving 5 star rating. Therefore I did not.
Ordered a replacement laptop battery. It never arrived and we can not get any response from them ( who ever they may claim to be)
Next stage reporting to trading standards and we will see where that gets us . DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Follow on to my review...
A long story short I have now received an apology AND a full refund and told to keep the battery as a Gift! Well either Paypal or my threats worked eventually.
The battery itself is not too bad -it fits and keeps charge about 2 hours which is sort of poor average I suppose. How long it will last who knows!
I still cannot recommend these people due to their tardiness and (deliberate?) misunderstandings of my mail. So my initial advice sticks- keep away!
