Prompt, accurate service from Preply Support

I have been a tutor with Preply for over 11 years. Today, I was wrongly reported by a student for not attending a class when, in fact, it was the student who did not attend. As a result, my profile was suspended, my profile position dropped, and I was refused payment for the class. I explained the situation to support with appropriate proof, and within a few minutes, the profile was restored, as was my position (currently 262 out of thousands of tutors), and my account had been credited with the "no-show" class. Normally, it would take days to sort this out, but I was impressed with how quickly it was resolved. Several students have had issues in the past but have told me Preply Support has resolved their issues promptly and in a satisfying way.

Tutor cancelled lesson and blocked me to prevent bad review

A tutor cancelled a lesson less than 12 hours before it started and blocked me right after. This was after they already didn't show up for one lesson previously, which I still paid for, in good faith. The tutor then apologised and told me that our next lesson would be longer to make up for the cancelled one, then cancelled that lesson just before it would have started and blocked me. Once blocked, I couldn't post or edit a review on the teacher's profile as the app won't let you! So a tutor can dodge negative feedback just by blocking you. I'm leaving a review here, because it's Preply's system that allows this. They clearly prefer their tutors to be 5 star rated. Preply gave me a lesson credit for one of the two lessons, not a refund. I contacted customer service, I'm awaiting their reply

I have been setting up a profile to teach English

I have been setting up a profile to start teaching - I had 2 different queries and each time contacted the help line and they were very helpful. I have also found the various courses and seminars very helpful!

Efficient Preply’s staff

Hi, I want to thank the staff. I encountered a problem with the payment for a subscription and some lessons that had been cancelled by mistake. The staff responded immediately and within 12 hours had everything sorted out and the lessons refunded. Congratulations on your efficiency.

A great place to teach and learn, except that they are terrible at deactivating their tutors who have worked so hard to contribute to the improvement of their platform. I was deactivated from Preply simply because a fraudster that they allowed on their platform contacted me deceitfully. I am tempted to believe they send these fraudsters intentionally so that they can eject their well-doing tutors, because this happened immediately when I became a super tutor after so much devotion to ensure I attained such. More sadly, they will never accept anything you have to say. Thankfully, I got other better platforms like Superprof

A friend recommended this site to me. I hesitated for a long time because I didn't quite understand the subscription or credit system. My first lesson was good, but not exactly what I was looking for. However, since you can "try out" teachers on the platform at any time, I did just that—and I got lucky with my teacher (Jungho B. Lehrer für Koreanisch) on the second attempt. There was a brief issue with the payment processing, but customer service responded immediately, which really gave me peace of mind. Booking my teacher here was definitely a good decision. All in all, I am extremely satisfied and have already recommended the platform to friends.

Easy, efficient tutoring

Preply is a very user friendly platform that has a great selection of tutors. The system allows you to set a regular day and time, or pick times that work with your schedule. It also provides many helpful reminders of your lessons and payments. Easy to use and my French is improving!

**Years of work erased overnight—and approximately $3,000 left unresolved** My experience as a tutor on Preply has been deeply disappointing and financially devastating. My account was permanently restricted because I rescheduled lessons on behalf of students—with their knowledge and agreement—to prevent their credits from expiring. I never intended to deceive anyone or claim money dishonestly. I explained the situation transparently, offered to repay any genuinely disputed amount, and provided evidence that the students had agreed. Several students even contacted Preply directly to confirm what happened. Despite this, Preply refused to consider the full context or offer a proportionate solution. There was no meaningful appeal process—only repeated responses stating that the decision was final. My support case was ticket #118297752. What makes this worse is that approximately $3,000 remained in my tutor balance. Preply mentioned student refunds and a financial review, but I was not given a clear, itemized explanation showing which lessons were disputed, how much would be refunded, or what would happen to the rest of the money I had legitimately earned. I understand that platforms must enforce their policies. However, enforcement should be fair, transparent, and proportionate. A tutor’s livelihood should not be destroyed without a proper investigation, a clear financial breakdown, or a genuine opportunity to correct a mistake—especially when the tutor cooperates fully and the students themselves confirm the circumstances. Tutors should think very carefully before depending on Preply as their main source of income. Years of work, student relationships, and thousands of dollars can apparently be placed at risk by one decision, with very little transparency or meaningful recourse. I am asking Preply to provide a complete accounting of my balance, release all undisputed earnings, and review this case fairly instead of hiding behind a “final decision.”

Great choice for a wide range of students. If you want to study, this is the place to start. A wide range of subjects and an excellent platform to assist students and teachers. The system is constantly improving over time.
