Preply is extremely helpful in learning languages and other subjects like art music acting etc. You can choose convenient time and day, there is lesson-based homework, and the interface is very convenient and user-friendly.

The predatory subscription system is insane

The subscription system is insane. Lessons expire, they double charged and it's almost impossible to know your actual balance because it changes so frequently and isn't clearly shown in advance. I rescheduled my lessons to the following month, but Preply still asked me to pay again and my prevous PAID lessons are expired The customer support team is practically useless. They have given me incorrect information many times I contacted them.

Great idea...terrible customer service and operations

I love my tutor and I love the whole concept of Preply, but when I transferred class credits from one tutor to another the platform seemed to leave me with no way to apply the credits towards my new subscription scheduled lessons. Idk if I'm missing something but it basically seems like I gave Preply a bunch of money and it's just sitting there. I contacted their customer service who act like what is really a case system is a chat system, and they closed my case for non-reply after 12 hours - yet I received 0 notification anyone had answered my query. I then spent about an hour with Gin on their chat demanding a refund or applicable credits towards my subscription charges and they suggested cancelling my scheduled lessons, isn't the whole point to have regularly scheduled lessons? I don't understand why Preply won't just refund me (which I asked Gin for multiple times) or just apply it towards a future subscription charge. Really really frustrated and disappointed with Preply. Please give me back my money. **Update to marketing reply from Preply - no your support staff does not want to address my question at all, I just messaged with David via IG dm and he didn't acknowledge key concerns I brought up and then tried to transfer me to a different department. Preply support did confirm they issued a refund, however the turnaround time in your FAQ and confirmed by David is 30 days ???!!!! I have never heard of that. I would advise people interested in using Preply to have very low expectations when it comes to billing issues. This company does not care.

I've been using Preply since its early days, and I absolutely love the platform! It has only gotten better over the years, and the recent AI features have made it even more impressive. The customer support is always outstanding—super fast, responsive, and incredibly helpful. I’m sure the tutors are all great but the customer service is non existent. I needed to pause my subscription which didn’t work. I tried to contact customer service but they only seem to have AI which was useless. It seems I will lose a months subscription as I haven’t been able to speak to anyone to help with what should be a simple issue. I would not recommend this site.
