City Citation Due to Delayed Dumpster Pickup

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel people should know about my experience. We rented a dumpster from Prime Dumpster, which was placed on the public right-of-way in front of our house. On May 13, the City informed us that the dumpster needed to be removed because they had work to perform in the area. We immediately contacted Prime Dumpster and requested an urgent pickup. Over the next several days, we called repeatedly. We were told it would be picked up “today,” then “tomorrow,” and then “tomorrow” again. On one day alone, we called multiple times. At times our calls were disconnected, and we continued receiving the same promises that the dumpster would be removed soon. Meanwhile, the City continued visiting our property. What started as a polite request eventually resulted in us receiving a citation because the dumpster remained on the public right-of-way. We later learned that the dumpster itself was supplied by another local company. We contacted them as well and repeatedly asked for help. After nearly two weeks of constant phone calls and pleading for someone to remove it, the dumpster was finally picked up on May 21. Before it was removed, I specifically asked whether we would be charged any additional fees because of the delay. I was told not to worry and that there would be no extra charges. During the time the dumpster sat on the public street after we had requested pickup, I personally saw people throwing additional trash into it. Since we had already requested that it be removed, I did not believe we should be responsible for anything added afterward. Then, about two months later, I received an invoice claiming I owed approximately $700 in overweight charges. I contacted the company immediately, provided a copy of the City’s citation, and explained the entire situation. Instead of resolving the issue, I was offered a 15% discount on the charge. I also emailed my documentation but never received a written response. I am still hoping this matter can be resolved fairly. If not, I plan to present my evidence—including my phone records, the city citation, emails, and photographs—to the court and let a judge decide. This review reflects my personal experience so that others can make an informed decision before renting from this company.

Excellent Customer Service From Alicia

Alicia was extremely helpful and diligent throughout the whole booking process. I called without a lot of information on my part and she was extremely patient with me as I gathered the proper information. She answered all of our questions, even if they were redundant, and always answered in a way that made us listened to. We called several other companies before calling Prime and they were not nearly as helpful and considerate as Alicia was.
