Great software, but need improvement!

Great software, not amazing - it recovery all my files. Lots of work later. My external HD just lost the partition and was showing a message that I need to format. That's why I bought the software and it did do a great job, but it did a mess in all folders. Just a LOTS of files duplicated and I had to find it and deleted the doubles one. It was a 2Tb HD (a little over half full), and the software identifies as 18Tb HD - because of the double files. If you are recovering a few specific files, than it probably would work very good and I would give a 5 star, but for entire HD, the software need a bit of improvements. Maybe all recovery software is like that, never used one before. Other than that, it's a good software. I would recommend.

It would be basic courtesy to tell people beforehand and make it clear that before you can recover your data, you will have to buy and pay for the program itself.

I just accidentally deleted over 400…

I just accidentally deleted over 400 pictures on my memory card while taking photos and this program recovered them - absolutely great!

The data recovery was very good, just need improvement to reduce the data copies

The recovery data was very good, compare with paying $400 in the professional Data recovery company. the only thing it need to be improved is: to reduce the DATA COPY. It's so many copies of each data, so I have to delete them or separate them to delete. I hope there is an improvement for this program.

Partially worked for me

Due to my own mistakes, I unknowingly formatted and re-partitioned the hard drive. Worse than that, I tried to recover the lost partition with my Linux OS and failed after attempting to write back to the drive. Worse than that, I re-installed windows OS for which formatting and partitioning were mandatory (It was one mistake after another. Some of the mistakes I had to make; others of course could've been avoided). Luckily, most of the important files were stored in a separate partition than the OS; therefore my mistakes weren't fatal. This software takes time and RAM to scan large drives (1TB in my case ~ 7 hours, RAM usage was constantly above 8GB). Although it seemed that all files were recovered, I had to use the RAW data recovered by the tool because the ones with the correct path/directory/name were completely corrupted. In the end, I only managed to find the most import files. I didn't have time to go through millions of files with name as such 00084098.docx. But this software indeed performed its task very well. I'd say it's definitely worth $50 I paid for. I myself is a software developer of 8 years and I would like encourage Wondershare Recoverit development to continue their efforts and make the software more powerful and efficient. Sincerely, Peng

Product worked, but the commercial side is borderline fraudulent. Try to avoid.

My somewhat distressed daughter lost the data on her laptop, a friend recommended that we use RecoverIT to see if we can get it back. The friend downloaded the software and then suggested that I buy it. The advertised prices seemed to be $89.99. On buying it found that this did not include 20% VAT. Normally in the UK the price should include this tax. It also did not say that it included a monthly subscription for the same amount since the software license was only for a month. Finally there was a premium for 24 months insurance against losing the download key. This is very sharp practice and buying through Paypal has not helped in getting any of this redressed so far. So be very careful before you buy from this company.

I TRIED CALLING SUPPORT ON MY SIMPLE MOBILE AND THEY SAID TO DIAL 011 BEFORE THE ACTUAL NUMBER ! ! NOW WHERE WAS I SUPPOSED TO GET THAT INFO FROM ???? OH WELL THE PROGRAM WORKS!!! GUESS I WILL HAVE TO EMAIL THEM IF THERE IS AN ISSUE ! ~ ~

Managed to recover all my video assets but not my project file which I really needed. Nevertheless, still thankful I managed to recover most if not all my files.

Good but bad price when you need it once every few years

This is like the third time in my about ten years that I needed to recover about 350 files mostly pictures or video.... the terrible thing is that for over CA$90, I wish there was a service that would have done it, like a $10 for a 24 hour license... because I don't think I will need the software anymore for another few years. :( :( Mind you it is easy to use, and very thorough... I love it! just I don't need it that often.

Recovered all the files from my hard drive after it fell

Recovered all the files from my external hard drive to my delight but unfortunately I cannot open any of them. Hoping I can still salvage the data as its 6 years worth of my work I would have to recreate.....

Feedback on Recoverit.

The software is easy to install and easy to use. However, some recovered files indicated as pdf, excel, winwords, cannot be opened and some photos can be seen clearly as indicated on the folder, but when opening the file, the photo is distorted only can see partial of the photos. Some files are name incorrectly therefore you have to open nearly all files to confirm that it is the correct files as named. Sadly, there will be files even though pull out but indicated with funny names and mostly of them cannot be opened. Overall I am still happy because nearly 70% of the files are retrieved. Recovered most of my files

Recovered most of my files. Still missing around 10 photos from an important shoot. Still better to have 60-70 photos then none at all. Success rate for this recovery is around 82-86%

I saved a year's worth of work and my sanity

I'll never know exactly how I did it, but I was exhausted at the end of a long day and I managed to delete an entire jump drive. It contained nearly a thousand files compiled over a period of a year in setting up an organization. Besides feeling like a total loser, I was devastated. On top of everything else, I lost Excel files containing three newsletter mailing lists with hundreds of names and addresses on them. I could not imagine how to go forward. Then a colleague sat down with my laptop and in less than a half hour, I had my files. We may have done something wrong because the files were all mixed together, so it took me the better part of a day to sort it all out again. And I couldn't open some of the files. Which is why I gave Wondershare Recoverit four stars instead of five. But when my friend asked if I was willing to pay the fee to get my files, I replied without hesitation, "Are you kidding? I'd give them my firstborn!" Under the right circumstances, anybody can make what seems to be a fatal error. Thanks to Wondershare, I saved a year's worth of work, the trust of hundreds of organization members, the shreds of my self-esteem, and my sanity.

Wonderful program

Wonderful program, not super easy to use, but really it helps when you are desperate to recuperate some important files, or video after a crash. Absolutely suggested!!!
