Great sleep tracker, mediocre smart device - and please, give us an alarm
First, sizing: the actual ring doesn't fit the way the sizing kit ring did. I had to switch to my middle finger, which probably affects how well it tracks — and even there it gets a bit loose in warm weather and can spin around.
Overnight vitals tracking is what I bought it for, and that part it does well. The regular "smart device daily usage" side, though, is a real disappointment. Step counting is way off — around a 40% difference compared to several other devices I own that all agree with each other. Activity tracking isn't much better. I can understand why it struggles with lifting or shoulder presses (the barbell grip probably interferes with the sensors), but I can't comprehend why my chill bike sessions won't register properly — no matter which finger, no matter which hand, the ring just sits there, not even pressing the brake levers.
I thought I was buying a device that would help with my sleep and still do what my old Galaxy Watch 3 could do before its battery died. It can't. Even a basic lunch walk gets mangled — 200 steps recorded, despite the app having every permission and a "constant" lock on my Samsung so the phone can't kill it in the background. I ended up buying a new smartwatch anyway.
The app itself is fine — nothing too bad. People on the Play Store really hate it: some can't find anything, some are just upset the design changed, but most complain about battery drain, and yes, the app does eat a lot of battery. Not a problem for me personally, since my phone lives on wireless charging stands while I sleep or work — but if you don't have that luxury, I'm sure you'll join the one-star crowd in the app store, hehe.
The looks I do like. I'm not a big jewelry fan — the only ring I own is a very simple silver wedding band I picked myself — and the polished version looks good. It's bulky, but I'm a pretty big man and barely feel it. So the exterior works for me; I like how it feels to wear.
One more important thing: at least right now — I pre-ordered in May 2026 and it's August 2026 as I write this — there is NO subscription, unlike SOME patent-bully companies. In reviews, RingConn measured on par with a few other top brands (within a marginal error), yet the ring is cheaper and requires no subscription. I hope it stays that way.
Battery life isn't a problem for me either, but let's be honest: the app shows 14 days on a full charge, and that's a lie. Use all or most of the features and you'll drop to 30% in 4–5 days max — and 30% is the zone where features like sleep tracking stop working. So it doesn't matter that the ring is still at 25% on day six if it's no longer doing what I bought it for. Still, that's impressive: my big bulky new Galaxy Watch 8 barely survives two days with half its features turned off. I recharge both daily and hope they add a 90% "battery protection" limit like some other brands do, so I don't fry this tiny battery and it lasts a good 4–5 years.
I really want to give this ring 4 stars. In some areas it's a 3, in others a solid 5 — and I genuinely want to like it: how it looks, the insights it gives me about my sleep and oxygen, the way it nudges me when I sit too long. Solid choice.
Now, since I was asked by email to leave this review (with no pressure about its content), I'll use it as leverage to request the feature I see most people discussing online (well, the ones not busy complaining about app battery usage, lol): where is the "wake me up in the right sleep phase" feature — or ANY alarm feature at all? I understand why the app doesn't do notifications that would disturb people or drain the battery with vibrations, but an ALARM is a basic feature. Sleep phase tracking already exists, and the ring stays connected to the phone all night for analysis — so this should absolutely be possible. Wake me up before my sleep-deprived body slides back into deep sleep on a Saturday morning when I have 20 minutes of extra sleep, so I don't feel like I got hit by an 18-wheeler PLEASE :)
Honestly it’s been a journey that ended when version 3 of their ring came out and my version two suddenly can’t hold a charge. When customer service said I could upgrade to the new one for $90 off it became clear that customer service wasn’t their goal.
I’m sad to be moving on from ring conn but trust is important to me in choosing something this expensive and important.
When I ordered my ring conn, they sent the size kit. a
After determining my size, I placed the order and wanted to get the ring care, but they said it was not possible because I didn't order the ring care when I ordered the size kit and picked out the color for the ring conn. The price point for the Ring Conn is pretty steep, and you should at least let people know that there is some extra protection available.
I have been very satisfied with ringconn. Their team is very responsive (email or chat through app). I was an early adopter so I have purchased a few and handed them out to family members. I lost my first ring and they actually replaced it. Then my dad damaged his by shoving it into the case incorrectly and they also replaced that ring free of charge. I also find the data gathering is great for sleep, it's much more comfortable than the purely round rings (this on is more square-ish), the charging case is great, and they keep charge for a long time. I also really like that you have to log in to app to see your data so it isn't bothersome/annoying/distracting during day. I only check data every few days, mostly to see if I am reaching exercise goals (max heart rate) and to see how many hours of sleep I have gotten in recent while. Overall I am a very happy with the company and I would purchase again.
My new ringconn version 3 is been a real information getter.
I can get Blood Pressure, Temperature and Sleep Intel.
All things I require to control my Sleep apnea.
For that I really appriciate the RingConn.
NOT AS MUCH INFO AS OURA. FEW CHOICES AS TO ACTIVITIES. I LIDT WEIGHTS BUT RINGCONN HAS NO SELECTION FOR THAT VALUES IN THE FOUR MEASUREMENTS NOT EXOLAINED. WHAT IS 'HRV'? 'SLEEP DEPT?
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GOOD.
Great information and valuable. Amazing what can be done by such a little device. Analytics are mostly good, but I had a teeny bit of learning curve to make use of it.
Its early, I have only had it for a couple weeks. However, so far so good.
The ring sizer took a while to get to me but I am oversea's so understandable. The ring itself came quicker. Easy setup.
For sleeping, I wish we could adjust in the middle of the night. I wake up at 3 am and use bathroom and lay back down and the ring thinks i am in light sleep with i am awake just not moving so I will I could manually adjust it. Currently you can only adjust the beginning and end of the sleep cycle.
The battery holds well definitely only charging every 10-ish days or so.
I have been wearing my apple watch to compare the steps and the sleep and the comparison for the sleep is between 10-20 minute different. The steps are about a 1000 steps difference.
Over all I am happy with this purchase.
I ordered two rings -- one for me and one for my wife. I ordered mine a day before ordering hers because I wanted to know how to set it up before hers came. As fate had it, mine was backordered because the finish was popular, so I got mine from Amazon (different finish) and still got it a couple of days before hers. I had also looked at the Oura ring, but I liked the RingConn better because there was no subscription needed and I liked the idea of getting a vibration when there is a key alert. We had some fit issues with my wife's ring and dealt directly with RingConn. They responded promptly and were very helpful.

Use the sizing rings to ensure good fit
They did what they said, and gave me the discount I missed by a couple of days. Love the product.
This is my second ring. I started out with a gen 2 and now I have the gen 3. Love it. It tracks sleep, stress, steps. The product is easy to use. I gave my mother in law my gen 2 ring and she loves. Great investment in your health.
I like the information gained by allowing ring to update numbers and then tracking them. Especially love the HA indicator as I can now take a supplement, lie down and go to sleep. I’ve been able to avoid migraines!
Wish there were two more features 1) blood pressure and 2) option to record and calculate daily food intake.
The ring does everything it says it does. I love that it alerts you when there is an issue. I especially love how you only have to charge it every 11 days. I would highly recommend.
