So many fake ads on this website!
So many fake ads on this website! I started using this platform several years ago before AI got out of the genie's bottle and there were far fewer fake posts. As of 2026, I've reported numerous ads for being fake but Roomies doesn't do anything to deter scammers from dominating the ad space (kinda like Craigslist now). Consequently, you spend lots more time trying to filter through the slop. Not worth it.
Hi Adair, Thank you for the review. We are sorry to hear about your time on Roomies. We do have a security team that covers our site 24/7, and we have been working on solutions to improve user experience. When we receive reports, we do remove the users if they prove to be fraudulent, and we proactively remove questionable accounts as well. If you have any further concerns, please contact us at [email protected]. All the best, The Roomies Team.
