Got scammed

Paid nearly £200 for a rug that is so cheap and thin it came folded up in a box. Quality is very bad, should have just bought from IKEA. Also took nearly 3 weeks for the rug to be delivered from turkey, utterly ridiculous

Customer service lacking

Rug arrived. Was not good quality so decided to return. This involves organising shipping to Switzerland. The company offered to do this via FedEx for more than £80. I arranged a UPS return for £19. The rug is still stuck with UPS in Switzerland as rugs.co.uk keeps refusing delivery of it and refusing to pay a customs charge due on the package. I have had to call them twice and have secured my refund but am still being hassled by the parcel delivery company wanting to receive the customs fee and hand the rug over to the company. They assured me on the phone that they would clear this. Two weeks on and I’m still being chased. My experience would suggest that buying from this company is a lot of hassle and best avoided.

I have been looking for this rug for days to replace the same one we have had for years. And within a very short time i found the very one thank you and the ease of order and payment was very easy. I look forward to have my new rug in place soon

Completely false advertising from the…

Completely false advertising from the photos on the website, compared to what the rug actually looked like and then were completely useless over messages.

Buyer Beware. It's Not Worth The Stress!

Diabolically bad service…and I haven’t even received the rug yet!!! The shipment was inexplicably delayed - common with the dreadful Fedex service - never arrived on the scheduled day and is now somewhere in the wind. Okay, so that’s Fedex, not Rugs.co.uk. But interactions to chase my order with Rugs UK via phone (I was promised an email follow-up that never arrived) and then three days later, chat, made me feel as if I had surely gone down the rabbit hole. Gaslighting is an insidious strategy but that is what happened here and I called it out (even though I suspect the responder did not actually know what gaslighting was). Because even though the earlier phone call had confirmed that all delivery details were correct and accurate, THIS member of the team decided that the issue was a confusion caused by MY error and I had entered my city in the wrong field when I placed the order and this had caused no end of trouble and problems. I should add that the item had somehow managed to find its way from Turkey to my nearest courier hub without issue and on time, so I’m calling BS on that argument! So buyer beware. I have no idea what the rug is like or when or if I can expect it but this is one company it is surely best to avoid even if you end up paying a bit more for your rug elsewhere. Because if it’s this problematic before the product even arrives, then you might be better off weaving your own!!! UPDATE: The online form which, in theory, allows 3 attachments, actually allows none due to an error message that reads 'unexpected token...is not valid'. Tested over three days on different devices using .png and .jpg files.

UK customers - Please avoid. There are better options elsewhere.

This is a misleading business. 1) Domain name rugs.co.uk is misleading. They are based in USA and switzerland, not UK. 2) Their products are shipped from USA - big rugs are not rolled but folded, so they get creased. 3) Any return/exchange is nightmare - I wanted to return. Firstly I had to return to Switzerland at my own expanse, Secondly, I had to pay at customs in Switzerland, to pass it. so I paid 50% of the total price of rug, just to return it - it took a month and countless emails/phone calls to the rugs company, to the courier/parcel company and to the customs office - reason is, rugs company simply did not respond to the parcel/customs repeated request to clear the custom duty, nor did they forward their request to me to pay the duty. They simply did not acknowledge, and in fact lied that they never received any such request - I have evidence that they lied. It was trauma for one month. They would do everything to make your return as difficult as possible. Rug itself was very poor quality.

My Mamluk rug is exactly as advertised…

My Mamluk rug is exactly as advertised with lovely muted colours and a beautiful pattern. I agree with other reviewers about the white fringing, which doesn't seem a good choice for this rug, but I googled ways of toning it down before purchasing. I'm also happy with the non-slip mat I bought to go under it. The mat works well and makes the lightweight rug feel thicker and more luxurious. The price for the rug was very reasonable but I have to say £99 seems a lot for the mat, though I wouldn't want not to have it. Regarding delivery, I was given a few different expected delivery dates and in the end the rug was delivered about a week before the mat.

The rug sent did not match the photos on the website and, despite trading as a .co.uk website, if you want to return an item, Rugs.co.uk require you to pay the postage back to either their Swiss or US-based warehouses - not good...

Just ordered a runner

Just ordered a runner, website was very easy to look at and find exactly what I needed with correct sizes I was looking for. There is loads of choices to pick from would definitely recommend Rugs.co.uk I can't wait to recieve my order.

The .co.uk ending to this website is really misleading. These rugs aren't shipped from the UK and the (unhelpful) customer services isn't UK either. I fact I'm not sure what is UK about it! I was really disappointed with my rug. Looked plush in the pictures but felt like string when it arrived. I then realised that I am responsible for return shipping to Switzerland or the USA! Please don't get caught out like I did.

Have purchased rugs from Rugs U.K before and have been pleased with the whole process. A lovely selection of rugs for every room including outside space. Prices very good. Quick delivery and they do not charge for delivery, which is a bonus. Ordered another rug and know I will be very happy with it. If you are looking for a new rug, I recommend Rugs U.K.

Scam - low quality rug with mould

This company is a scam. Rugs are not shipped from the UK and are of very low quality, yet they operate under ".co.uk". They require a very high fee to return a rug to their warehouse in Switzerland or US, but they don't note this on their website for transparency. The rug that I received was packaged in just a thin plastic bag and bent. It has a strong very strong smell of mould.
