Awesome surprise: the printer you don't expect

I was truly impressed by the Snapmaker U1. The print quality is excellent, with precise details and clean surfaces right from the very first prints — a result I didn't expect at this level. What I particularly appreciated is the attention to waste reduction: the system minimizes material scrap, a feature that makes a real difference both for the environment and for your wallet. Ease of use is another strong point. Even for those approaching 3D printing as a hobby, with no prior experience, the setup is intuitive and the overall experience is very smooth. The only aspect with room for improvement is the community: still small compared to the product's potential, but I'm confident it will grow quickly. Overall, a purchase I highly recommend to all enthusiasts. A true surprise!

I love the Snapmaker U1

I've loved having this printer for the last month and a half. I lost patience with my old printer of 12 years and brought a Snapmaker U1. The mutimaterial and Multicolor prints are excellent and the speed is 4x faster than my old printer. Allowing production runs to produce more products. My cats also love the box the printer comes in.

Upped my 3D printing game

I got the Snapmaker U1 and it has seriously improved my 3D printing abilities. Having a tool changer is a game changer over my budget bed slinger. Multicolor prints are a huge plus (with minimal waste) but so is the ability to have several colors and materials ready to go for any job that comes up. Print quality was excellent right out of the box. Setup was trivial. I've ordered accessories as well they have all come quickly.

Very pleased with this Kickstarter investment…

I absolutely enjoy the functionality of the U1 printer. Hardware has been very reliable, The print quality is very good. It prints very fast and I have had minimal failures. The failures that I did experience was due to me, changing settings and making modifications. I now use this one exclusively when I’m printing something with TPU. There’s no crazy set up involved when trying to use TPU filament. I can install the filament right into one of the Print heads with ease and Print without fail. I do have one recommendation, please keep updating the software and allowing more features. Other than that, The price is great. The features is great. Hardware was great. Thanks guys!

Mini Review of the Snapmaker U1

Mini Review of the Snapmaker U1 Overall, I’m satisfied with the printer and the experience it provides. The only real complaint I have is about the fine print quality — I notice that it struggles a bit with small details, likely due to its focus on higher printing speeds. I’d really like to see the print profiles refined further so the output can reach a solid “5 out of 5.”

Snapmaker U1, worse than an old school Ender

I bought a Snapmaker U1 about 3 weeks ago. This is the biggest turd of a printer that I've ever had in my possession. I would rather deal with an Ender, one of the ancient ones, over this overpriced piece of junk. Their customer support is anything but. Constant back and forth, then they said if I were to return it, there is a 7% restocking fee, I have to pay for their junk filament which is severely overpriced for 500g rolls, and pay for return shipping. Had I purchased through ANY other retailer for them (Amazon, Walmart, etc.) this is not the case and I wouldn't have been hassled. They argue that there are not the issues I reported when all I see are reports of it being so loud, etc. It's garbage, only shadowed by their garbage "customer support." This thing will get sold instead. What a joke of a company. Update 10/6/26... They approved the return in full for the printer finally, but they just brushed off that I was also needing to return the snap dry joke of a system. When I sent the photos they asked for to get the return shipping label I was told they would send, someone new entered the conversation and didn't send the label or schedule the pickup and then asked for the serial number blah blah blah. Then I got a bunch of crap about the snap dry system. This company can't be trusted. Their equipment is junk. I'm a VERY seasoned printer and know what I'm doing and this is such an inferior system and they should fire all of their "customer service" personnel. Update 10/18/26: in the end they made it right, but it was, hands down, one of the absolute worst customer service and product experiences of my entire life. It should not have been that hard and their customer service team needs either completely overhauled or replaced.

Dear Stephanie, Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize that your experience with the U1 and our customer support has been so frustrating. We understand that the U1 did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the operating noise, connectivity, and overall usability. We’re also sorry that our communication and the return process added to your frustration instead of making things easier for you. We understand that you ultimately decided that returning the U1 was the best solution for your needs. We have arranged for the U1 to be returned with a full refund, with the return shipping covered by Snapmaker. We are also following up on your SnapDryer return and Top Cover preorder cancellation. We’re sorry that we did not provide the experience you expected from either the product or our support team. Your feedback has been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams as we continue to improve both the U1 and our customer service. Warm Regards, Snapmaker
