About this business

We help musicians connect with curators. Our goal is to make it transparent and easy, but we can't promise guaranteed success. Curators are picky and often to the point. The space is highly competitive and you need to have tough skin.

What people say

I don't understand the problem

I don't understand the problem. My stuff is good and yet my songs are added to playlistsm aybe 1% of the time that I submit. It's strange. I don't use AI, I take a lot of care to make sure everything sounds great, the material's great, the lyrics are good The performance is good. The recording is clean. The studio production is solid For some reason it feels like I'm banging my head against the wall. No idea why my stuff doesn't get approved more

Submithub

This site is excellent because it has so many useful tools. The playlist checker is helpful to keep you from sites that use bots. Love listening to other musicians on "hot or not" where you can earn credits for giving reviews. Their list of curators is excellent and you even get free credits that you can use for submissions. I find that the support staff is excellent and gets back to you immediately with any problems. All in all great site.

I'm not writing this review because…

I'm not writing this review because I've had phenomenal feedback on tracks and A&R. I'm writing it because the feedback has been real and honest, there are times it has been phenomenal and times it's a bitter pill to swallow. But the the things submithub does well, it's super affordable to get a pitch going, the hot or not system is amazing both at getting feedback for yourself but then also discovering what other indie artists are doing, and Jason and the submithub team are super receptive to feedback and on the odd occassion, even make improvements to the ecosystem based on your feedback if it's worthwhile. Complaints are handled well and I also enjoy being a verified reviewer. I hear a lot of complaints about submithub but for my experience, and it's been over two years now, it's been an amazing platform.

Thanks for the review :)

Since my previous comment was removed

Since my previous comment was removed, I’m rewriting it and putting it into my own words. I hadn’t read the negative reviews about this service before giving it a try, but honestly, I completely understand where those people were coming from. In my case, I received comments from curators that I just couldn’t understand when it came to the reasons for rejection. For example, one curator told me they couldn’t add my song because there was no singing, only a spoken voice. I thought that was a pretty strange comment… until I realized that curators are not actually required to listen to your entire song. From my experience, it almost always stops halfway through. So just know this: you’re paying for someone to listen to half a song. It’s kind of like a tour guide judging and rating a restaurant after only tasting the appetizer, then saying: “Sorry, I don't like the quality of your cooking because your salad was cold, and I prefer hot dishes.” Anyway, I don’t know who came up with that system at Submithub, but in my opinion, it makes absolutely no sense. A credit system based on the actual length of the song would have been much fairer. As for me, I spent $40 and got absolutely nothing in return. No improvement in audience reach, no real benefit at all. That’s hard-earned money for me with my job, especially compared to someone who simply sits back and enjoys listening to music comfortably. I believe this is a lot like the old Gold Rush, when people were rushing to America hoping to strike it rich. In the end, the ones who really made the fortune were often the people selling the pickaxes. Submithub is benefiting from the rush of artists desperately looking for visibility, but despite all the work you put into your music, don’t expect any real results from it.

Jason here. I’m sorry the experience was disappointing, but I do think the conclusion is a little unfair. Music promotion is extraordinarily competitive. Around 200,000 new songs are released every day, and curators have far more submissions than they can possibly share. They are required to listen for at least 60 seconds, and typically listen for more than two minutes: https://www.submithub.com/listens If a song hasn’t connected with them by that point, listening to the full track is unlikely to change the outcome. SubmitHub can provide access and consideration, but no service can guarantee placements or audience growth in such a crowded market. That said, I’d be happy to look over your submissions and targeting if you reach out to us directly.

Feedback real y curadores serios, útil para artistas emergentes

Used SubmitHub for the second single of my solo project (rock/blues from northern Chile). Sent to 8 premium curators, got 2 approvals — one blog covered the song with a complete review, playlist add on Spotify and 3 posts on X within 24 hours; another published a detailed blog piece a few days later. Both were exactly what the platform promises. The rejections were also useful. Some feedback was clearly template, but at least 3 curators wrote thoughtful, specific responses that helped me understand how the track reads outside my own scene. Even the "no" ones opened relationships I could revisit for future releases. What works: 100% response rate within the promised window, refund system for non-responders, quality of active curators. What could improve: genre-matching in search could be tighter — some rejections came from curators whose stated genre didn't really match my style. Overall a solid tool for indie artists who want honest feedback and real reach beyond their local circle. Would use again.

Pay your important bills before!

I am on so many useless playlists. Only on Submithub, I found a real interesting playlist actually working! SubmitHub was the first platform of this kind that I used. It's also the only one where you can review other musicians through "Hot or Not," earn free credits, and use those credits to contact curators. That makes the whole experience quite enjoyable. I'm actually glad I started with SubmitHub because it teaches you an important lesson very quickly: in a way, you're paying to be rejected. If you're confident in your music, that's perfectly fine. If you're not, it can be discouraging. The best approach is to treat it like a game and see it as part of the learning process. Even so, I'm happy that SubmitHub was my first experience. It felt like losing my virginity in the music promotion world. It prepared me for rejection and helped me develop a thicker skin. I also think it's particularly good for African and experimental music. My advice is simple: try several different platforms instead of relying on just one. Each one has its own strengths, and together they gave me a much broader understanding of music promotion. Most importantly, keep a healthy distance from the process. Don't take every acceptance or every rejection too seriously. Do not spend too much money if you are broke. Pay your important bills before. Submithub has a very interesting options with influencers. You are paying and if they don't accept you, you are paid back. You can ask for Tiktok dance, etc. I didn't try it yet but I will. I worked with an influencer on another platform and it was so much fun, paying only 25USD which was really cheap for what I got. There are plenty of great options on Submithub but you don't find it easily. Take time to discover Submithub quietly. It took me one month.

A Great Platform for Independent Artists

I've had a very positive experience with SubmitHub. The platform is easy to use, and I appreciate that curators actually listen to my music and provide honest feedback. Even when my songs weren't accepted, the comments helped me understand what I could improve, especially my vocal mix and production. One of my songs was approved and featured by a blog, which gave me extra motivation. SubmitHub is a valuable platform for artists who want real feedback, promotion opportunities, and a chance to grow. I highly recommend it to independent musicians.

Excellent Service

SubmitHub has been a great platform for promoting my music. The process is simple, the feedback from curators has been useful, and I've seen encouraging growth in my Spotify performance since using the service. I also appreciate the transparency and the helpful analytics they provide. Overall, it's been a worthwhile investment, and I highly recommend it to independent musicians.
