This is a Spam company

This is a source of junk email that I can't get rid of. All I did was answer a questionnaire from a hospital appointment, and I am now lumbered with some kind of account and endless junk emails. There seems to be no way to unsubscribe from this junk, without login to an account which I cannot do. This company needs reporting for breach of GDPR

Basic plan doesn't even deliver

Offered a basic plan to receive 25 responses, only gave me 5 and told I need to pay to get the other 20!!

Horrible

Horrible, shady, sneaky, overpriced...all very good words to describe this garbage site. You spend a lot of time building a survey with no mention of fees until your done. Then all options to share require paying premium charges.. $30 a month for basic, wow! WHY?They have metrics showing they are at the bottom of each category they are in. They are bad, MOSTLY 1 star reviews.

responses are very low quality

responses are very low quality. there is no control over quality and users can just submit junk in less than 10 seconds.

This is a basic survey tool

This is a basic survey tool. It gets the job done but it doesn't have great reporting visuals. I also do not like that it is IP based for logins. I frequently have to clear my cache/cookies for other websites and then Survey Monkey doesn't recognized my device and I have to register it again. It tells me I only get 10 of these per year; this is an obnoxious practice. Additionally, it is extremely hard to get support. We had a billing issue one time where they couldn't locate our payment. You can't just call and talk to someone; it was a pain.

The platform offers features that are…

The platform offers features that are current and useful to the work I am conducting. The ease of use and ability to edit at all phases is a feature that is greatly appreciated.

The survey function works BUT...

The survey function works, however it constantly forgets my devices and threatens to lock me out of being able to login. It's not my fault I work remotely all over the world and your site doesn't know how to store cookies. It's a pain to use this survey service.

Applying for a uni that uses it

Applying for a uni that uses it. Requested a recommendation, it didn't get delivered to my recommender, now trying to resend and it gives an unknown error. Trying to contact customer support - getting the same (!) error. No other ways to contact support are provided. Horrible experience.

Data struggles

We have two surveys which work as baseline-A-B. However, we can not compare them to analyze data with the "multiple survey" option. The data side of surveymonkey is not functional for us. Also we can't manually fix or correct data without it creating different timestamps, instead of just having a "finished" timestamp and not creating others for editing content while cleaning data. We can't clean data without having everything altered; it's impractical to have to wait to export the data to be able to clean it.

Very easy to update an existing survey with major or minor adjustments. All of the surveys are available. I also like the reporting features.

Using the free version of survey monkey

When I first did a survey on SurveyMonkey using the free version, I got all the way through making my survey before it told me that I couldn't have certain features in my survey without purchasing them. Although I see this is a good marketing technique, it was very irritating to me because I spent a lot of time making the survey and I had to go back and redo it using only the features available to me for the free version. Likewise, the limitation of only 25 responses for the free version was also a surprise and should be notated up front when you start using the free service. Other than this, I like the survey monkey product. It is fairly easy to figure out and use once you figure out which features you are allowed to use for free or for different paid levels of subscriptions.

I enjoy the features that allow me to be creative in the design process and I like being able to quickly pull up an older survey to quickly put it back into service!

Overall Ease of Use

Building, Sending, and Collecting is relatively easy, giving access to helpful analysis abilities. One downside is the cost puts additional features out of reach for small organizations that do only a handful of surveys each year.
