TherapyNotes is remarkable software for…

TherapyNotes is remarkable software for session notes! It is a pure pleasure and very easy to use. Recently I needed to print out a large batch of notes. Support guided me and it was a dream to get done. Vanessa, the representative who helped me, was delightful to deal with. She was knowledgeable, kind and gracious. I can’t imagine anything that would improve on the software and the service. I’m very grateful!

Billing your own claims is worth it!

Therapy Notes team of provider support is always a friendly, knowledgeable and quick access team for all the little glitches that hold up claim filing. Paying 5X the amount for medical billing for Unislink caused lost billing monies and lots of headaches. With Therapy Notes you always have someone in contact if you need them.

Fantastic Support Team Experience

I was very confused and overwhelmed about figuring out how to become PCI Compliant, and I made an appointment with the TherapyNotes support team, and Charles zipped through all the questions quickly and effortlessly, completing my compliance in less than 15 minutes. I had spent literal hours trying to figure it out on my own. He was polite, knowledgeable, and fast! I'm grateful for the help.

TherapyNotes AI Feature is a RIPOFF!!!

On May 26, 2026, I posted a review of TherapyNotes that included a complaint about their add-on AI feature, TherapyFuel, not accurately capturing the recorded content of a therapy session. Finally, after making numerous followup requests, TherapyNotes sent me this bureaucratic response: "The product team has conducted a thorough review of the note length feature within TherapyFuel. Although there may be potential enhancements in the future, at present, the team has not identified any processes that are functioning incorrectly. Please be advised that the Verbose setting is not being disregarded. During testing, it consistently increased the output length compared to the Concise or Default settings. However, although Verbose increases length and often adds propositions, the additional length does not improve the rubric score nor consistently provide clear, source-supported semantic expansion. These aspects of the feature are currently under development by our team; however, a definitive timeline for their implementation is not available at this time. We recognize your preference for more detail-oriented content. Please be assured that our team is aware of this and intends to implement such improvements in the future. At present, the feature's behavior is primarily focused on length and form. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention, as it allows our team to further refine existing features and implement additional enhancements going forward." Primarily focused on LENGTH and FORM? Not content...on a THERAPY NOTE? Contrast this with what the TherapyFuel features page states on their website: "...our integrated AI solution that revolutionizes your documentation process and more. Spend less time on paperwork and more time with your clients as TherapyFuel streamlines your workflow." And: "Use TherapyFuel Scribe or a session summary and have TherapyFuel draft your progress notes for you, making documentation faster and easier than ever." In reality, the lack of specificity makes the process of finalizing a note even more laborious, because now you have to type in all the details of what was discussed in the session. It's actually faster to just type the note yourself! This feature is a ripoff and TherapyNotes should be ashamed of themselves for offering this crap at an up-charge.

I have been using TherapyNotes for…6 months

I have been using TherapyNotes for about 6 months now and I really appreciate how supportive the help team is. Anytime I have a question that I have been unable to find an answer for myself, I receive a timely response with supportive guidance.

Disappointed in lack of customization for medication management providers

I've been disappointed with this EHR, particularly for medication management and customization. Several key limitations have remained unresolved for years. 1. **Limited note template customization:** Users cannot create their own note templates or rearrange sections within PSYCHIATRIC intake or follow-up notes (therapists are able to do this though). I've been told this feature is "being worked on," but it's been more than three years without a solution. 2. **Restricted intake assessment editing:** The patient intake assessment cannot be fully customized. You can only delete existing sections rather than modify the questions or add your own. The default assessment is geared more toward therapists than medical providers, making it less useful for medication management. 3. **Parent portal and billing authorization issues:** The system does not handle parent access well in situations where minors have healthcare privacy rights. For example, in Washington State, minors age 13 and older have certain rights to confidential healthcare, which means parents often should not have access to the patient's medical record. However, parents are frequently the ones responsible for payment. The EHR only allows parents either full access or no access, making it impossible for them to review or sign billing authorizations without exposing protected health information. The suggested workarounds involve extra administrative steps, sharing sensitive payment information, or collecting signatures outside the EHR. 4. **Inconsistent customer support:** I've received incorrect information from customer support on multiple occasions. In my experience, roughly 30% of interactions result in inaccurate guidance. I've been told certain features exist when they don't, or I've had to explain how the system actually works. Other times, support representatives need to recreate the issue using a test patient before they can determine whether a solution exists, leading to lengthy support calls. 5. **Unreliable telehealth workflow:** The built-in telehealth functionality has been unreliable enough with freezing or dropping connection that we've had to use Zoom instead. Even then, there's a significant scheduling issue. If a patient logs in at or just after their scheduled appointment time, the system may display a message stating that they are too late for their appointment and must contact the office. This setting cannot be adjusted at the clinic level. As a result, patients often believe they have missed their appointment, become unnecessarily upset, or fail to join the session altogether, leading to avoidable no-shows and confusion about potential no-show fees. Overall, the lack of customization, workflow limitations, unreliable telehealth functionality, and inconsistent customer support have made this EHR difficult to use efficiently in a practice with medication management.

Hi KT. 1. We are working on custom templates for prescribers. We just released custom progress notes for therapists just a few months ago. We roll out new features as they are ready. 2. You can create your own portal forms. 3. We are working on enhancing the portal to have better support for divorced parents. There are a few workarounds that our support team can help you with. 4. We're sorry you have not been satisfied with our excellent customer service. 5. Please to contact support if you need help using telehealth or encounter issues. Give your 1/5 star review, it sounds like TherapyNotes is not for you. If you need help switching to another platform, let us know.

TherapyNotes - Don't practice without it!!

I closed my solo practice and joined a group practice. TherapyNotes is the EHR for both. TherapyNotes made it easy for me to transfer Clients and different types of documentation to the new practice. TN provided written guidance with exact procedures for me to back-up, save or transfer different types of documentation ensuring that everything remained HIPAA compliant. Then guided me how to close the solo practice within the EHR. One of the biggest selling points that brought me into the new practice was the use of TherapyNotes as the EHR. I declined a job offer from a different practice because they used a different EHR that I had used in the past that was a misery to use.

Thank you

Despite my many, many questions, I was treated with respect and dignity. I was impressed with D'Anna E.'s incredible patience and professionalism. She is a definite asset for therapy notes and she helped resolve issues that I could not. Lol

The support I received was phenomenal

The support I received was phenomenal! The agent knows the system inside and out and patiently walked me through a complicated issue. Other EHRs only communicate through emails and take more time to resolve issues. This experience is why I appreciate Therapy Notes.

TherapyNotes has been supportive 100% all the way in starting my private practice. Responsive and compliance

I’ve tried numerous EHRs. This has been the most responsive customer service team, easiest EHR to use, and documentation compliant software I’ve ever used (and I’ve tried A LOT). I could have saved my past self so much time and energy had I know about TherapyNotes before. The support may be my favorite part. I’ve gotten great help when I’ve called in the past, but today, I emailed and was surprised to find that I was helped just as quickly as if I had called. That is priceless. You live and learn.

The best customer support!!

TherapyNotes came highly recommended by several other counselors, and my experience has exceeded my expectations. I was transitioning from another EHR, and their team made the process incredibly smooth by providing step-by-step instructions for exporting my data, uploading my client list for me, and offering guidance throughout the setup process. I had previously used TherapyNotes while working in a group practice, so I already knew they provided excellent customer service. That has continued to be my experience, and their responsiveness and support have made the transition to my private practice much easier.

Excellent Service

My call to support was answered quickly. I was given clear step by step instructions on how to resolve my problem on how to enter a secondary insurance onto a claim that was already processed.
