PS: Career.io RETALIATED for this review and shut off my access. These are the most petty, unprofessional people I have ever encountered. After following up with the responder from TopResume below, they claimed that the terrible AI-created resume signed "Refreshed Resume" rather than with a human name met their "internal standards." This place is a joke. Also, they quickly added 3 more 5-star reviews from people who had never written a TrustPilot review before. So, they are clearly padding their stats. Don't trust this place. TopResume Reverse Recruiting is a Scam Careerminds, the service TopResume contracts with, is a SCAM. There is no reverse recruiting team. They use AI. And they use it poorly at that. Every single cover letter Careerminds sent out was not signed with a human name. Instead, it was signed "Refreshed Resume." On top of that, they failed to fix this problem despite weeks of emailing their support team. Furthermore, they were not able to accurately send out resumes. After weeks of working with them, they continued to send out a version of my resume that was multiple years old, despite my having promptly informed them of the issue. Support could not have cared less and made no attempt to fix the issue. You'd be better off using an AI tool like Simplify to fill out resumes than pay for Careerminds. Trying to talk to support was like a Kafka-esque, passive-aggressive nightmare. There is clearly no coordination among the resume-writing teams, the platform operator, and the support representative. What struck me most was how unapologetic and snide they were. She subtly tried to shift the blame back to me whenever Careerminds made a mistake or there was a platform glitch. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

I paid over $200 for a professional resume through TopResume and the experience was deeply disappointing. Not only was the quality of work unacceptable, but when I reached out with concerns, my emails went completely unanswered — zero response, zero accountability. The real proof came when a recruiter friend ran my resume through ATS software and iCIMS Talent Cloud — two of the most widely used applicant tracking systems. It scored a 19 out of 100. A 19. That means nearly every job I applied to likely never had my resume seen by a human at all. I paid $200+ for a resume that was actively working against me. I ended up hiring an independent resume writer who charged me less than half of what TopResume did — and the results were outstanding, scoring significantly higher on the same ATS systems. Save your money. There are far better options out there that will actually respond to you and deliver results that work in today's job market.

I had not had to look for a new job for over 15 years so when after 4 months with no bites it was apparent I needed to have a professionally written resume and help with cover letters.
