My experience with TotalAV has been highly disappointing due to misleading advertising practices. The service is heavily promoted as "free," yet this claim is inaccurate. The 7-day trial period is not placed front and center. After signing up, I then received a notification regarding a "7-day free trial," which automatically converts into a paid subscription. None of the primary advertisements I encountered mentioned this trial period or the subsequent billing cycle; they simply labeled the service as "Free." When trusting a company with cybersecurity and the privacy of my personal data, transparency is essential. I find it ironic that a company marketed to protect users from "hidden" online threats utilizes such opaque and deceptive marketing tactics. Potential customers should be aware that the advertised "free" service is merely a short trial that leads to an unsolicited subscription. I encourage others to consider whether this lack of transparency aligns with the level of trust required for a security provider.
