I’ve only purchased Travel Guard a couple of times. Years ago while in Italy I had a camera stolen. I made a claim and no delay or problem, reimbursed immediately. Recently I discussed TG with a friend who uses them on international trips and he encouraged me to do likewise. I’m going to Mexico on a trip so we purchased their premium plan and I must say I feel much more relaxed than I have for many years and plan on buying a policy on all of my future trips. Peace of mind is well worth the price they charge, very reasonable. Like my brother says, you only need insurance if you have an incident that wasn’t planned for, I’m vacationing now worry free!!!
The booking it online was fine, though I prefer a live person. I wanted reassurance that i was interpreting the info correctly, and ultimately I felt that i was. I am withholding one star because i am asked for this review before actually using the insurance ( hopefully I wont have to use it).
The customer service is very good & you can talk to a human pretty easily

Sorry to say...
Sorry to say, filed a minor claim for a trip delay and they only agreed to cover the rental car to drive home (some 19 hours) but would not cover the $95.00 for an overnight in a hotel (or any meals on the way home) ... do not in any way feel this was a fair resolution for the delay in travel after we were bumped from our scheduled flight... not at all happy with the company after a recommendation... I will stick will Allianz in the future....
I always use travel guard they are amazing for anything health related or any issues while traveling abroad. They also are quick for quotes online and easy access to purchase. Will always stay committed to buying travel guard. I have used other insurances out there and I won’t ever use any other again. Thank you!

Travel Guard is misleading
I purchased Travel Guard insurance through SWISS Airlines for peace of mind, expecting that if an unforeseen event forced me to cancel my trip, I'd have some protection. Instead, I lost nearly $2,000 on a trip I couldn't take.
What was most frustrating was the claims process. I followed every instruction exactly, including obtaining a notarized employer letter because my husband's previously approved PTO was revoked and he was required to work. The claim portal specifically requested this documentation for work-related cancellations, only for my claim to later be denied because "work obligations" weren't covered.
To make matters worse, the Terms & Conditions link provided during the SWISS booking process was unavailable when I tried to review the policy.
My biggest disappointment is that the claims process seemed to suggest my situation qualified, leading me to spend time gathering all the requested documentation, only to find out afterward that it was denied for a reason that appeared inconsistent with the instructions. I hope Travel Guard reviews its claims process so customers have clearer expectations before purchasing coverage.
