I have been with them 14 years now and I can honestly say that they are terrible! The company has really gone downhill over the last few years and they try to find ways not to approve claims. The monthly charges have become very unaffordable, their customer service is horrible and senior dogs are treated without respect. I do not recommend Trupanion!

The vet hospital has been dealing with most of the bills so it’s been a huge burden during a traumatic time. Trupanion is still sending me the update and I am well informed. The staff has been helpful too over the phone making sure I get them the much needed information.

Trupanion saved my dogs life. My dog underwent two chest surgeries within 10 days of one another and was hospitalized for a few weeks. Trupanion was extremely easy to work with and handled everything with the hospital directly. I could not recommend Trupanion more when it comes to insuring our furry friends.

I was sold a fake bill of goods. The lifetime deductible per incident is ridiculous. Despite two stomach-related illness in two years, two claims were processed under two separate deductibles (vomit and diarrhea), despite the root cause being stomach-related illnesses in both cases. Every time a claim is submitted I find out some new way Trupanion is denying coverage to avoid making any payment. It's been a very frustrating and expensive experience with Trupanion. You're better off setting funds aside for pet-related care than paying this Company a monthly premium, only to receive minimal benefit.

Our daughter had insurance on her dog. Again they charge a deductible for every visit to vet. But the big kicker is she moved 2 kilometers from her previous address within the same city. They RAISED her premiums because they said it was because of the neighborhood being worse for dogs. The new neighborhood is quieter than the old. Please beware and check before you buy. This is a TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!

Have had dog covered since 2018 when we adopted him from Virginia Beach SPCA. Have had two claims and both have been denied. First one due to vet not itemizing. Last one is because waited 3 months to have a dental cleaning that resulted in having an extraction. We had no idea it was needed nor did vet until procedure. I filed a complaint with Virginia BOI.

The product didn't match the description at all. I was really hoping for better quality, but it felt cheap. On top of that, it took longer to arrive than promised, which just added to my disappointment. I can't say I'll be ordering from here again anytime soon.

Denied new claims b/c they said it's pre-existing. It something they were covering. Then I guess they just decided they would lose money on me; so they decided not to cover them anymore. I canceled my policy, wish i would have chosen a different company, b/c now his symptoms are pre-existing.
