Tuff Stuff Overland

Good RTT mounting option

The product shipped and arrived within something like 5 days. Much faster than I had thought. Assembly took about 15 minutes, if that, on my 2018 Colorado. Very easy. I would suggest finding a way to secure it to the bed in order to prevent thief’s from taking it. I used a game camera lock through a tie down in my bed on two corners. That should prevent most would be thief’s. Overall, the rack seems quality and very sturdy. I prefer the solid, tubular design, over the less sturdy modular bed racks. But that’s just personally preference. Haven’t mounted a tent on it yet but I did use it as a basic frame with a “hammock cover” to form a shelter. I have a 6 foot bed so that works for me. Also tried to put my space cadet cargo box on top. The placement of the bars didn’t really work for it, even with adjust the space cadet as much as possible. I did mount my cargo rack to it with zero issues. My only complaint is the powder coat isn’t very durable. I have already scuffed it in numerous places that I’m sure will begin to rust. I would have preferred a bare metal finish that I could prep and paint myself, making touch ups easier. Overall, a very good product that will have me buying more items from tuff stuff and I build my overland rig.

Perfect for overlanding

Love the products, very accurate and easy to use. Customer service was great!

Delayed AND mis-shipped RTT

I pre-purchased the Alpha II IN EARLY Jan 2021 with a promised delivery date of Feb. The 1st update on delivery was in fact Feb - the last week! The RTT finally arrived the beginning of Apr 2021. For that, I cancelled 2 trips as a result. The kicker - I was shipped the wrong tent - the Alpha which is larger, heavier and more than I wanted. Herego, the exact reason I ordered the Alpha II. Knowing - after I uncrated, de-pkg'd - that further delays and yet another trip would have to be cancelled, I opted to stick with the Alpha. Have to say I am disappointed.

great product

great product, the awning was delivered and product was as described. only suggestion I have would be to make the cover of the awning just a little bit bigger for when adding the side shade option and to store the bag of stakes and string inside, instead of having to put them in a separate place. I was able to get it closed with the side shade still attached but it was tight and could not fit the stakes. make the bag a bit bigger for this option. Easy setup and again, I love the product and will refer friends and purchase other items.

Small awning

Great product! I got the small awning for the rear of my truck and couldn’t be happier. Perfect size for that location.

Customer service was polite and…

Customer service was polite and helpful. Returning the item was made easy. Unfortunately shipping to California is extremely expensive at this time. We love our tent! After this experience with customer service. I will recommend tiff stuff to anyone looking for one.

Best value for a good quality RTT

Best value for a good quality hard shell RTT. We took the tent camping two weeks after we got it and were impressed with its features and felt like we made the right decision going with Tuff Stuff. The ladder did dent where we stepped up on it. The heaviest of the family is me at 165lbs so not sure how it happened on 3 or 4 of the stepping areas. We did do our best to keep thing level. Yet, it didn’t get any worse and it still functions as expected. Driving on the road with it had pretty low wind noise and didn’t notice any wind drag. The handling of the vehicle was pretty good for having a huge 4 person RTT on there. Overall very happy.

Good to work with

They were very good about letting me know the progress of the shipment of my Alpha tent and were quick to respond to any questions I had.

Great product. Even better customer service.

Customer service was extremely responsive and I felt they truly pursued the resolution until I was 100% satisfied.

The Alpha is the RTT of all RTTs!

Tuff Stuff Overland drop shipped my new Alpha Roof Top Tent earlier than the projected release date of this new product, and in a sturdy crate. Easy to unbox, easy to install, straightforward instructions... and ready to use within an hour. And customer service was awesome when I called with a technical question. Love the tent, and the company is rock solid!
