Disgusting company I paid £90 for years membership then within a few weeks it said I run out of credits. And they are asking me to upgrade my package. Now nothing works I can't even interact with the AI unless I upgrade. This is a disgusting cash grab and I am unsubscribing and uninstalling it now. I genuinely feel like I've been ripped off. I paid for a year and now doesn't work at all. I've been scammed by this shady company. Best to completely avoid and don't get sucked in like me. There are free apps available that can help with creating thumbnails. That is where I'm going from here. I hope my review will help others to avoid getting scammed like me.
I've only been working with Vidiq for a short time but already feel more confident, and have found their AI mentoring system extremely useful.
Amazing Software genuinly one of the best i have used for youtube and the thumbnail creator is AMAZING guys i never have to pay $20 per thumbnail again!!!
Terrible experience. Canceling the subscription is unnecessarily difficult and feels designed to confuse users. Worse, I was charged twice in the same day with no explanation. That’s unacceptable. On top of that, the product isn’t worth it and didn’t deliver any real value.
Tried the paid program, but they had no effect on my views or overall channel. I cancelled, but they kept charging me months later. I tried getting a refund, but they refused and claimed I never cancelled. They not only make it difficult if not impossible to cancel the plan, but refuse to return your money.
VidIQ has officially pivoted from a creator tool to a predatory cash-grab, implementing a bait-and-switch credit system that forces even paying subscribers to pay per interaction with their AI bot. To make matters worse, they’ve quietly inflated credit cost required for basic tasks again! All with zero communication. You soon realize their "proprietary" insights can be easily replicated for free with five minutes of manual YouTube digging or a basic ChatGPT prompt. The platform is starting to look less like a service and more like a desperate, over-leveraged scam.
I have being struggling until 2024 with my LUIGI'S MANSION 2 HD videos gained more likes and views and it was a lot easier and was less stressful until recently it became more expensive and ai focused which was making it harder to know what the issue was with my channel and content frankly it would be lot better to not have to pay over a £1000 a year for a human coach or even the ai subscription being over £190 for a year
I am extremely disappointed with vidIQ's billing practices. I purchased what was presented as a one-time monthly package, only to find out they signed me up for an automatic recurring subscription without my clear consent. When I contacted support to explain the misunderstanding and request a refund for the unauthorized charge, they gave me a robotic "no refund policy" answer, completely ignoring the fact that their checkout process is misleading. I have not used any paid features since this accidental renewal, but they still refuse to return my money. It feels like a trap for creators rather than a helpful tool. If you value your money and transparency, stay away from this service. They care more about keeping your accidental payment than about customer satisfaction. Avoid vidIQ if you don't want hidden charges!
I’ve been using this tool for about 16 months and it worked really well at the beginning. Unfortunately, the points/credit system has become very frustrating. You now have to repeat prompts multiple times, and every generation (especially when the result isn’t right) costs points. Regenerating a thumbnail that doesn’t match what you want costs 22 points each time. It feels like the system has turned into a cash cow rather than a helpful tool. The AI thumbnail generator is useful when it gets it right, but the constant need to regenerate and the high point cost for corrections makes the whole process inefficient and expensive. I hope vidIQ improves the credit system and makes regeneration more generous, especially for users who need consistent branding.
I had a poor experience with vidIQ and would caution any creator before signing up. After my free trial ended, I was charged $149.25 for a full annual Boost subscription with no clear advance notice that the charge was coming. I was never notified before the billing date that I would be auto-charged a full year's fee. I did not use the platform after the charge was made, and when I contacted support to request a refund on those grounds, I was simply told the plan is non-refundable, with no acknowledgment of the notification failure or the fact that I received zero value from the subscription. For a platform built around helping creators succeed, the billing practices and support experience here fell well short of what a paying customer should expect. I will not be returning, and I'd strongly encourage anyone considering vidIQ to read the fine print very carefully before starting a trial.
This company certainly has its good points. Above all, the tips on how to make money. The worst things about it are: 1. The customer service – replies are slow, poor and drag on. 2. The AI is a disaster and provides contradictory information, although it does at least apologise when you point out its mistakes, and 3. They have a tool called ‘Magic Button’ which, in theory, improves the metadata of every song, but in reality makes it worse by inserting random and meaningless tags, ridiculous and out-of-context descriptions, and highly bizarre titles. I cancelled my subscription today after three months. I should have done that much sooner. Thanks
Very useful set of tools. Not everything is suitable for my channel and the way I work but I consider VidIQ an essential tool and well worth the price of my subscription.
I just became a user in the past day or so, and I haven't used all the features so I can't talk about everything. But so far the advice and suggestions that they made about my titles tags, descriptions of my already posted videos have had a dramatic impact on my views. I've gone from just over a 100 views on all my videos to my latest one. Yesterday just had 4000 views in the first 2 hours. I posted, it's the best turn out for any video I posted yet. I mean, it got the most attention. Thanks to the advice and formatting, they gave me. And that's just the first thing.
The software itself has some useful features, but the coaching program was a huge disappointment and, in my experience, not worth the money. I run a travel YouTube channel focused on value-driven content — travel tips, advice, and destination information. From the beginning I explained to my coach that my audience comes primarily for practical guidance and knowledge, not personal storytelling. Despite this, I was repeatedly encouraged to shift my content toward entertainment-style personal travel stories. I was told that as viewers “got to know me,” it would lead to stronger engagement and better affiliate conversions. After following this advice for around 12 months, the opposite happened. My views declined and my revenue dropped by about 50%. I’ve since returned to my original content strategy — the one that worked for my audience — and I’m already seeing improvements again. Another issue with the coaching program is how limited the feedback actually is. For the price you pay, I expected in-depth analysis of my videos and scripts. Instead, coaches are apparently not allowed to watch full videos or review full scripts. Feedback was mostly limited to the intro, outro, and briefly scanning for micro-hooks. That level of review simply doesn’t justify the cost. The tool itself can still be helpful, but in my experience the coaching program is extremely poor value. If you know your audience well, trust your own analytics and instincts rather than relying on generalized advice from coaches who don’t fully understand your channel.
They never respond in time. usual time is HOURS which is most certainly useless if you live in the UK. It's typically impossible to cancel your subscription by design. And they keep changing you even on an expired credit card. A typical fly by night operation. Out of bounds for anyone not living in the USA. I would say stay clear. and Learn how it is done. These tools are absolute evil. And I am not making this up,Since you are in the UK, you are about to get a lot of legal protection against this. The UK government passed the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act (DMCCA), and the specific rules targeting subscription traps are set to come into force in Autumn of this year (2026). Once these rules take effect, what VidIQ did to you will be strictly regulated, and in many cases, highly illegal. Under the new law: "Easy Exit" Mandate: Companies must make cancelling a subscription as straightforward as signing up. If you joined online with a couple of clicks, you must be able to cancel online with a couple of clicks. They can no longer force you through endless "downgrade" screens or make you talk to customer service. Cooling-Off Periods for Renewals: If a subscription renews for a year, or if a free trial converts to a paid plan, consumers will automatically get a 14-day "cooling-off" period to cancel and get their money back. Massive Fines: The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will have the power to fine companies up to 10% of their global turnover if they trap consumers in unwanted subscriptions. What is Happening in the US (Where VidIQ is based) Even though VidIQ is an American company, they are facing immense pressure there as well. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is currently aggressively suing major companies—including Amazon, Uber, and Match.com—for hundreds of millions of dollars for making it too difficult for consumers to cancel. The FTC is also in the middle of pushing through a strict "Click-to-Cancel" rule at the federal level, which explicitly bans the exact multi-step cancellation maze you got stuck in. Several US states have also recently passed strict auto-renewal laws requiring immediate, one-click online cancellation.
I have a paid subscription (Boost plan). Without any clear warning, vidIQ switched their AI system to a credit model. As of March 8th I suddenly cannot use the AI features anymore until next month, despite already paying for the service. This change was never clearly communicated when I subscribed. It feels like features were quietly restricted after people had already paid. On top of that, their chat support has not responded to my questions, which makes the situation even more frustrating. The AI advice itself is also extremely generic. For small creators it rarely gives practical, individual guidance — mostly broad suggestions that could apply to any channel. Overall it feels like a service more focused on charging subscriptions than actually helping smaller creators grow.
I must say I had high hopes, but it made no difference in my channel.Zero increase in views, watch time,or subscribers.I think all the reviews here are either fake or by affiliated marketing agents.Dont waste your time or money.
VidIQ is and has been a great service for our YouTube channel. The analytics, the suggestions of times and descriptions, all of it--good stuff.
Their scriptwriter feature is supposed to be unlimited as was shown in their breakdown of prices and credituse , but it uses 15 credits every time i want to use it (1 credit per minute). Talked to support about this but they said it is supposed to work like that. Do not advertise something as unlimited while in the end they are not. I could not even get a refund from them, just a cold no and you can go now. Please avoid scams like this
