An attempt at a balanced review
I'm an active, paying user but sadly the more I try to use the tools the more disappointed I am. I appreciate the work VidIQ put in trying to develop tools and teach how to use them to grow. But is it actually working?
The clip feature: While it picks good enough moments from videos, the formatting is always a normal video that is shrunk to fill up the middle 30% or so in phone/short format. The rest is dead space - So they're simply not usable. Massive disappointment since it's a tool that promises to make clips easier so you can get more out of your video ideas, but it's strictly terrible always-
Thumbnail generator: Same as every other one really. You tell it to use a reference - It ignores everything from said reference. You specify to change one small detail and leave the rest, it changes whatever it feels like. Refining or generating something new with or without reference it's just blind luck. I might be in a niche where the thumbnail generator struggles more than for others, but I can't get any use out of it whatsoever.
AI coach: Like all AI - It's a random word generator. This feature can be very useful and is what I have had the most use from by far. Mostly for designing thumbnails funnily enough, it's easier to do them myself and ask the coach for feedback.
I also use it to generate variations on scripts for shorts but it's again just down to luck. Sometimes it has useful ideas, often it's stuck on specific key words that are not and have never been applicable to my channel. Same thing for titles, it has decided on an angle beforehand and it does not matter what I say or what the results from my channel say.
Discord: This was the best feature, getting feedback from actual humans. However it's clear that the people who provide the feedback are overworked or the ratio of coaches to people who want feedback is just way off. After the 5th or 6th time my posts were missed I gave up and I have not looked back.
So why is it still 2 stars? Because I'm not a "everything is amazing" or "everything is trash" kind of person. It's a mix. There is potential. I am hopefully learning as I go, from videos and from attempting to use the tools. But the more I use them the more disappointed I am, and I am strongly leaning towards continuing my channel without VidIQ in the future.

Really!?! No Refund! U can't be serious!
I was very surprised to find out today that VIDIQ does not offer refunds from their subscriptions!! My plan was renewed on Dec 11 and I had barely used it. When I contacted them last night and unscubrbed, the process worked but when I inquired about a refund their Ai BOT said I should not expect a refund from the $199 plan!!
I think that's not kosher. As a Mentor to startups I used to recommend VIDIQ but I had NO idea they had this absurd policy!!

Vidiq is the best software for analyzing YouTube. But also the best in customer service. I love the fact that I was able to respond to a marketing message and ask a simple question & get my situation resolved quickly. I also love their clip feature for turning long form into a short. Great Product, One Small Issue
I’ve been using vidIQ for over six years, and year after year it’s been solid. The SEO tools are genuinely excellent, and the ability to pull thumbnails directly from your videos is a big win. The only real downside is the AI-generated images—they’re just not very good. Everything else does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Pricing for multiple channels is a bit much.

30 Days In - Still Impressed
Solid tool for managing YouTube content. In the first 30 days we scrubbed titles and thumbnails and added keywords. It was worth the monthly price for that alone. Then, we strategized how to shoot two indoor car shows and how to implement a series of restoration video.
The number of views have increased since I started using the application, not dramatically, but the I am still learning the process. This tool is accelerating my learning with each upload.
I highly recommend it for any small YouTube content developer that needs a team of virtual assistants.
