Do not trust Agoda last room

What I don't like to book with Agoda is showing all the time it is a last room, it is not true! and secondly no place to apply discount code, so you have to book with the price showed.

Good but could be Better

I have just recently completed a stay with the Simple Comfort Suites through Agoda. Thus far I have had nothing to complain about with regards to the rental of the unit. My booking was confirmed and the individual representing the Comfort Suites was there to greet us upon arrival. The room was clean and immaculately furnished along with being impeccable decorated. I would have given a higher rating however, although indicated in the room that should I require additional time to check out there would be no additional charge if my notice was received at least 3hrs prior to our departure. If not there would be an additional $30 an hour charged. However, despite requesting a later departure time a full 12 hours before exiting the unit, the Suites terms were not honored. This has nothing to do with the booking through Agoda however, be aware that some request may not be honored. I could understand if the Suites were all booked up but from our observation the unit beside me and below me was not rented. Therefore, nothing prevented their online staff from honoring my request. Otherwise I had no issues that would not suggest not renting at the Comfort Suite.

A trap?

No person to contact, no eMail, no emergency service. They even deducted money from credit card without my consent. Terrible experience. Correction: The hotel waived the cancellation fee, and the tel. no. of Agoda I found, somehow, on the internet (not provided by Agoda though). So things are sorted out. Never trust the hotels!! Even if they accept your cancellation you still need to inform Agoda. Also, the THAILAND PASS (Thai Pass) application does not work. Hundreds of tourists are stuck at home, unable to go to the airport as processing takes 6 days and more. In many cases you get a denial without reason, or the OK comes on the day of traveling. A nightmare. Difficult to cancel hotels then, which all must be booked and paid in advance.

Just got scammed on a room in tower…

Just got scammed on a room in tower hamlets east london. to be fair agoda were good and got a voucher for my wasted day..however just checked and there are 40 or so listing for rooms in private homes which have scammer written over them, the same fonts, good rooms at cheap prices and the 0 or 1 rating. These are easy to remove but agoda it seems doesnt know how to keep these listing (still live as i speak) not sure why its so difficult to remove these scammers and protect their customers

Stay away from this website!!!!

Stay away from this website, they do not offer refunds on booking. Go directly to the hotel website. My flight to the Philippines cancelled on me (Cebu Pacific-another one I will give a very scathing review), so I had to adjust my flight, my hotel, my pcr test, my airport pickup, and my leave paperwork! Awesome right, so I went to the website and they basically says you booked and confirmed you ain’t getting your money back too bad. Screw the pandemic and it’s changes. So I learned my lesson, i booked directly with the hotel, they offer better flexibility than this mafia ran website! Stay away if you love your hard earned money, your wife, your girlfriend, god, budhaa, and your play station! Update: the website reached to me and were able to adjust. You have to be willing to accept calls from Singapore though and incur the charge. I will upgrade from 1 to 3 stars. I still recommend booking directly with the hotel website itself.

I have used Agoda over a dozen times

I have used Agoda over a dozen times, with that said, they are NOT a fraudulent site like many here suggest, resorts are often dives and you don’t know until you get there, I booked a Hotel on Agoda for the Philippines, the hotel notified me the Hot water boiler would be out for weeks, until they get the part, no way I was taking cold showers, the hotel couldn’t cancel the booking, only Agoda, I called Agoda and explained the situation, they were a bit reluctant, but in the end they DID cancel the booking after they confirmed the outage at the hotel, I was not charged anything.. Their a stand up company, HOWEVER, they DO mislead, the web site lures you in with very low rates, but when you checkout, you get sticker shock on taxes, fees or service charges, in many instances, they double it, A $42 “Green” tax for example at a resort in the Maldives will cost you $84 on Agoda, this is where they get you, on the fees! Fortunately I was able to book directly to the hotels web site and I saved myself over $400 for a 7 day stay! And I don’t have to deal with a middle man.. Travel sites are a rip off for the most part, but their not scammers, it’s all legal, it’s all about making a profit, no different than insurance companies, pull in as many premiums as possible and do everything possible to avoid paying on a claim.

Cheapest hotel rate available

I booked online without an account and did not receive a confirmation email. After reading some of the negative reviews I was very worried that I had been scammed. Because I used PayPal I sent an email to Agoda through PayPal asking for the confirmation email. I also sent emails via their help site although they kept asking for a booking number which I didn’t have. I also called the hotel property who did have the reservation and sent me the confirmation directly. Later, I did hear from Agoda with 3 separate emails including the confirmation information. The emails showed up 6 hours after my request. CAUTION. If you don’t have an account with Agoda make sure you save a screenshot with the booking number. I would suggest calling the hotel to confirm the booking as well. Customer service is only reachable via chat (need booking number!) or email so immediate response is not always possible. I now have a prepaid nonrefundable confirmed reservation and the price was $50 lower than the other third party booking sites(incl taxes and fees) so I am pleased although I was nervous!
