Poor customer service

Maybe this is a great place to buy books if everything goes right, but that wasn't my experience. I purchased a psychotherapy book and some random fiction novel was sent to me after fairly slow shipping. To my frustration, I was told I would have to PAY to send the incorrect book back and would get a measly $5 credit. The correct book would not be automatically shipped to me. I would have to reorder it AND pay to have it shipped to me again. WTH?? I paid $16 shipping to send it back and refused to pay for the book and shipping again. The least this company could do was ship the CORRECT book to me at no cost since it was a quality control issue on their part. I tried to support a non big box business when I could've ordered from Amazon for a couple dollars cheaper and 2 day shipping plus free returns. I probably wouldn't have needed a return because I would've also received the right book. Never again.

My book shipped well, arrived in a reasonable amount of time and in pretty good condition (all but a bend in the cover due to wear), and has been happily devoured by my best friend, a hopeless bibliophile.

The book I ordered was shown as being available in hardback, so I ordered it from Ria Christie on Alibris. I received a paperback, not a hardback. I contacted Alibris and they advised me how to contact the seller and to return the paperback. I returned the paperback at the cost of £2.40 postage. I then had to nudge Alibris/Ria Christie over the slow repayment and when I received it it was for £0.01 less than I had originally paid. I messaged Ria Christie who said I had to contact Alibris about this. One of the two said they were not allowed to reimburse more than had been paid originally but that Alibris would issue a credit for $5...I don't want to shop with Alibris any more and certainly not with Ria Christie, I just want the right money back and to be re-imbursed for the postage. After all it was their incompetence, not mine.

Alibris delivered again!!! I was able to find 2 books that I couldn't find in the Alameda County libraries and I really wanted to read. Price was great. Shipping quick. So I was able to read them BEFORE my 74th birthday.
