I got insurance in case something happened for the first time ever. Something happened involving a family animal and couldn’t leave them due to their state. Tried filing a claim and with the information I had and was eventually denied the refund. After being asked did I believe it was crucial for me to stay behind to take care of them….. will not being using the services again. I would rather roll the dice and know I’m going to lose money then be given a “possibility”.
Gotta read the fine print, I guess. Paid around $2k for trip insurance, and when the trip got all messed up due to unforseen circumstances we had hoped to at least get back the $1.7k in lost trip costs, lodging expenses, etc. But buried somewhere was fine print was max payout was only $200 each for me and hubby.

I have had very good experiences with Allianz Global in the past, but I am a bit disappointed that it did not cover my deposit for a trip to Kenya that I cancelled because of Ebola.
Claim process on line was a little confusing due to unfamiliar terminology. Otherwise, filing a claim is straightforward experience. Review process was done very timely and notification was 1-2 weeks. Very happy with overall process.

Heartless Allianz when my son died and it took six months and 20 documents to settle
We were asked for over x20 documents sometimes the same document twice. The claim was for a trip I was doing to Northern Australia during which my 44 year old son died unexpectedly. It took six months to finally settle the claim which given the reason for the claim added to my distress. To be honest Allianz should be ashamed at the way they treated me.
Taking a very long time to process, and instructions are often unclear. For example, I can't tell which documents they need, and when uploading documents, they make you choose from a dropdown menu of document types, which often doesn't cover what I'm uploading. Inconsistency in instructions via email, website, and phone.
What I love about Allianz, I will always be prepared and a peace of mind. If I'm traveling I know where to get my insurance from. So far no claim had to be submitted in a long time. Thank you Allianz.
