I do have a problem with the latest "upgrade". The "hints" are not as easy to use and I end up using the "search"option instead of looking at the hints.
Another change that is challenging; in the past if you saved something to your tree it would show you where it is saved. Now it does not. If you manage several trees it is impossible to locate where you have saved. That information is important.
Ancestry is not replaceable; however, there are so many faults with it that would be easy to change. And things to add that would make genealogy so much easier. In some things I'd rate it at a 1, and all the way up to 5. I can't sum it up in just one rating. I would LOVE TO BE PART OF A FOCUS GROUP.
Vadim gets 5 stars for helping to solve my payment problem, discussing the issue with his supervisor, and also getting the 6month Discovery offer at the discount. My account was to have auto renewed last night (after a 2-month pause) and it wouldn't per the emails I received.
The issue I still have is why Ancestry did not acknowledge the valid credit card I had in the system, which forced me to give you a different card. :-(
Thank you.
I needed to temporarily cancel my membership as the account was not eligible to be paused. It was great to know that ALL of the data that I've added to my family tree is being saved. Really grateful for that!
I believe Ancestry provides researchers of all experience levels with high-quality, accurate, unique, and easily accessible information. The content never feels stale because there are always new documents, records, DNA matches, hints, and other discoveries being added. This allows me to continue building my family tree, researching different family lines, and collaborating with other researchers.
The platform is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and does a good job of showing content that is relevant to my research. The Pro Tools are also very helpful and provide useful features that improve the overall research experience. Ancestry makes it easier for researchers at any level to understand DNA matches, explore how they may be related, and connect those matches directly to their family trees. That feature takes tree building and family research to another level.
Ancestry also allows me to view my geographical origins, trace family lines through my tree, and follow connections supported by my DNA matches. This gives me a more complete understanding of where my family came from and how the different branches of my family are connected. I feel that Ancestry covers nearly every aspect of genealogy and family-history research. I rarely need to go outside of Ancestry when researching my family, which is why I would strongly recommend it to family members, friends, and researchers of all experience levels.
I've had so much fun using Ancestry! It has helped me go back through generations of my family history and discover relatives I never knew existed. The DNA feature is amazing, I found so many DNA matches, and it's been fascinating to see how we're connected. It's an incredible way to learn more about your family, your roots, and your story. I highly recommend it to anyone who's curious about their ancestry!
I spoke with Sean from Customer Service and I couldn’t be happier with their level of service they provided! They were extremely understanding and helped resolve my issue in five minutes. In a world where everything is shifting to AI, it was nice to speak with an actual person who understands empathy. I highly recommend!
I had to wait a long time on the phone (and it took a while to get a phone number from the chat ); but the person I eventually talked to was very helpful.
Please change your online website to making changing membership options easier. All I wanted was downgrade from worldwide to USA only ; this was not obvious from any website or instructions from the chat.
Please put your phone number on the website (usually this is under a link to "contacts")
I came from a large family many of whom I did not know or whose stories were not told. Ancestry help me find and discover family and also help me, help others answers their family questions as well. I will always recommend it persons.
I had an issue that I had created myself in creating 2 accounts on 2 separate emails! Following a chat with Leaf (AI) Kearille dealt with the matter and considered all points I made and resolved all my concerns. So very helpful, polite and a credit to your organisation. Thank you for great customer service, which I found 5 Star!
Even though I couldn't cancel my account without going to the actual account. I actually want to see if i can change phone number and email address. It would be better that way.
I find relatives and numerous DNA incites everyday
I found a sister (unknown to "most of" my family for 75 years) and also a daughter (unknown to me for 37 years) through Ancestry.com. My ancestry family tree has become expansive on both my mother's and my father's sides. My DNA findings were intriguing. All-in-all, working with Ancestry.com has become a rewarding pastime.
Shocking. Waited 9 weeks and had to chase them up. Paid for 2-3 weeks priority processing, still waiting at week 7 and have had to chase them up. Service staff have lied about turn around times amd proceedings, awaiting phone recordings to be sent.
