Very bad quality water

Very bad quality water, bad maintinance. Not solving leakes and charge extra money over time without notifying customers! Be causious of your bills

I get water, and huge bills, and a LOT of sewage where it doesn't belong.

Striclty as a water provider, they prvide water. I've never been killed by drinking it. As a corporate citizen they are evil crooks, doing what all the other evil crooks are doing - spending public money on huge bonuses, neglecting the water networks, forcing the public to invest further for them, and illegally dumping huge amounts of sewage into our rivers and seas. If you work for Anglian Water, then you work for a monster - perhaps it's time to consuider a change.

Absolutely shocking customer service, every time I call them

Now seven months into suffering Anglia…

Now seven months into suffering Anglian Water's deafeningly loud loose manhole cover outside our house. They refuse to repair it as it is 'not dangerous' despite the insomnia and continued anxiety it causes. Must be the one of the most arrogant companies in the UK. The sooner water companies like these clowns exemplify are renationalised, the better.

Poor experience

Had a direct debit set up , Anglia Water cancelled it and I didn't find out until a few months later as I got a bill Went to set up a new direct debit, but despite living on my own and the last three months bills being £40 a month, they insisted the minimum direct to pay was £72. Ridiculous. Now they get no money until I absolutely have to pay them. Customer services didn't do much either and the WhatsApp service is really annoying and convoluted. And don't get me started on the amount of leaks in my area! Time for water companies to be renationalised

They are scaming me i used to pay £23…

They are scaming me i used to pay £23 then it went up to £48 so i applied for a tariff to get a cheaper bill and it also said on their website that they have an higher % discount so i applied for it and my bill went even higher up to £68 this is crazy and they said they wont be able to do anything till next year they also increase bills whenever they want and Icannot change water companies because it is the only water company in my area

We are only 2 peoples lives in our…

We are only 2 peoples lives in our home. Myself and my wife. But every month water bill comes £52. That's each person spending £1 daily for water only. We're working in private health services and 12 hours duty. After that we are using water. Then how the water costs this much. We're not using water for washing cars or using for watering plants. We thinking If a family of 2 children and parents then the water bill goes more than £100 for 4 members. The low and middle income families are afraid of using water due to this terrible bill. We don't know who is deciding the water price. The Government or the water company deciding their own prices as they like to make huge profits. In Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar like that countries are desert places and very difficult to get water. So they are built "DeSalination plants" to make Sea water to convert into drinking water. In Arab countries we think water prices is not this much higher prices than in UK. In UK a huge percentage of our hardworking money goes to water bill only. Our Gas and electricity bills together comes below water price or lower than water bill. In the UK nature is giving lots of pure water as rain continously. And a lot of rivers flowing through UK filled with water. Anglian water is not making water by fusing Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms. Then why Anglian water is changing a huge water bill to customers monthly?. All the living creatures including humans,plants,animals,birds in the planet Earth needs air and water to live and survive. So its shameful to make huge profits by selling drinking water for huge prices. .🙏🙏🙏.

Great customer service

Had a water leak at the metre recently which they informed us about because of increased usage. They quickly organised an inspection and a repair and applied a leakage allowance. All of this was very hassle-free and the couple of people I spoke to on the phone were based in the UK, competent, concise and polite. Well done on your customer service 👍

Total S/ show since April had a water…

Total S/ show since April had a water issue after over 20 technicians and believe me some of the rudest people you would ever meet and some good ones . They run an overland pipe to get me a supply. They traced to issue to be around the meter which ment pulling up and area around my meter box . Not an issue till it come to putting it back together. Well a 2 year old could have done a better job . They had either lost or miss cut the blocks and they went to buy some replacements. The only thing I can imagine is they bought them for a bet and installed them . Completely the wrong colour and style block . But by pouring sand over it and saying it’s finish is how they do it . They couldn’t even cut a block straight and when they cut the my don’t use water suppression as my new car can be a witness to . Over all don’t let them near your house if you value it . Absolute cowboys .

Burst water main

Woke up during the night to find a water main had burst along our street. Anglia Water worked tirelessly through the night & most of the following day to reconnect us. They supplied us with several bottles of water while they were sorting out the problem. We are currently being supplied by an overground pipe as they continue to work on the problem. The guys we spoke to regarding when we were likely to be reconnected were extremely polite & friendly. Thank You Anglia Water.

I had a problem with my water bills

I had a problem with my water bills. I spoke to a young guy called Mackenzie, not only was he very upbeat, helpful & understanding, he took time to listen & resolve my issue. So rare these days, to get great customer service. I hope he is valued by Anglian water as he is a real asset 😊

You Don't Want to Help Customers, at Least Show a Little Respect

I had an Anglian Water operative visit my home today. I opened the door and said 'hello' but needed to ask who he was, because he was not forthcoming on that key information entering my home. That's something professional services know to do especially when entering a single females home. Despite his rudeness, l offered him a drink and was polite to him. He looked from a distance at the stop tap and immediately told me he was not going to help me. He told me l would need to get a plumber in, before they would consider giving me a water meter. When asking quite calmly how customers are meant to pay for a plumber, when Anglian water is charging a single person close on £100 a month for unmetered water, his response was to condescendingly tell me to 'calm down'. I responded l'm not criticising you, you don't need to take it personally, but what Anglian Water is doing to customers is wrong. So he makes excuses for Anglian Water charging extortionate prices to a single person, then not helping them get a meter installed. Then phones his manager who reiterates that they are not going to help me. Fortunately, another workman arrives at my home, because listening to Anglian Water repeating over and over that they don't want to help me was becoming tiring. I let the other workman in, but the Anglian Water guy remains as if it's his home, still repeating about not wanting to help me install a water meter. Clearly if he does not want to help me, then the polite thing would be to leave, but l had to ask him to leave, so l could speak to the second workman who was there to help. I was forced due to his obstinacy to have to say politely; 'if you don't want to help, then you need to leave please', to which he continued to talk on his phone to his manager and rudely claiming 'she's chucking me out now,' as if my home was his place to come and show as much disrespect towards me as he could! No Anglian Water we are not here for you to abuse, you need to start respecting your customers, especially when you are ripping them off nearly a £100/month for a single person, with an average water consumption!

Threats Instead of Customer Service

Last year, Anglian Water stopped our direct debit payments without warning. As the account was in credit at the time, we assumed this was the reason. However, while still in credit, we were suddenly hit with a bill for over £200. We queried this and were given what felt like a very dismissive explanation by a manager rather than any real resolution. We immediately resumed payments and have consistently been reducing the balance ever since. We now owe less than £100, yet Anglian Water have started sending threatening letters about potential court action despite us making regular payments the entire time. Taking customers to court over a balance under £100, while they are actively paying it off, is completely disproportionate and frankly disgraceful behaviour from a company providing an essential service. To make matters worse, I emailed them over a week ago and have received absolutely no response or even the courtesy of an acknowledgement. The entire experience has felt dishonest, aggressive and completely lacking in basic customer care. Anglian Water seem far more interested in intimidating customers than resolving issues fairly or communicating properly. An extremely disappointing company to deal with.

Absolutely disgusted with this company

Absolutely disgusted with this company. We have always paid by direct debit and been in credit with our account. Last October when the direct debit stopped, I periodically checked our account which kept telling me our balance was in credit by a couple of hundred pounds and so we assumed that this was why the direct debit had stopped. All of a sudden in February we were hit with this bill of over £200. I wrote and asked what happend and explained I had been checking the account which had money in it. I received a quite unsympathetic snarky email from the manager explaining that they only bill once a year based on estimates and that I had the capacity to check on the app myself what the balance was. She went on to say that this matter was now closed basically dismissing any further communication. Despite saying we couldn't afford to pay the entire amount and despite paying a bit more than usual, we received notification to say we were going to be taken to court if this wasn't sorted. At this point we were sitting at just over £100. We have now paid another payment leaving us at £85 to pay and guess what, we have received another threatening letter with court. We are speechless. Years ago I would assist clients who could only pay £5 a month and Anglian Water were happy to oblige but like everything in this country now, good people who try hard get nothing. Companies like this show that there is zero client respect and if we could move to another company tomorrow we would. Furthermore the chat says its available Monday to Sunday but directly below it says they are closed on Sundays and phones are only open Monday to Friday. Im not sure what else I can say about this company. Disappointed is a understatement.
