This company just gets worse in the art of scamming people. They first told me there was a leak, told me they would come out then said they were not coming that delayed things then all of a sudden after an apparent leak they then later write after months and said the leak has been resolved despite nobody doing anything also with no evidence of a leak therefore there wasn’t one. They then shortly after claimed there was a further leak and was ment to put my account on hold that would prevent me from paying a penny and despite this forwarded me over to debt collectors once they had racked my debt up regarding a fabricated leak that they have kept on my account as usage. Yer right 7liters an hour constant, I don’t think so. How can they do this, so I’m told not to pay until the leak is sorted and me not paying is not my fault and they disclose confidential information as to my address and name to debt recovery.
These people are in a lot of trouble and are now trying to scam people out of money due to them contaminating the water. People should be compensated. You try to call them and all you get is South Africa contact centre where the line and signal is awful. I guess they are struggling to pay British people now I’m not surprised with the trouble they are on and it’s very evident why they are just scamming people.

Great customer service
We were having issues with our downstairs loo flushing so I called Anglian water to see if there was something they could do to help. It was quite easy to log the issue and I received a call to help book in an appointment, which again was easy. On the day, a man called Jayden arrived. He was very polite, helpful and happy to help. He advised what the issue could be and was very respectful of our property. He's a star! Thank you.

So I just tried to do the survey AW sent me and I think because it was such a low rating it would not let me continue or save it so I am putting it on here....
Though the person I was talking to was lovely (6 May 2026) she should have noticed my average usage is 3000 ltrs per month and mentioned that in December 2025 it was over 89000 ltrs for the month about 26 times more than usual.
I was away one holiday when I got back a rubber washer in a tap had perished (no evidence it was happening before, no dripping tap) and the tap was spewing water into the sink, no idea how many days it had been doing it, so I turned the water off as soon as I noticed when I was back and get the washer swapped out. That was the reason for the huge water usage in Dec.
I would have thought a large company like you would have noticed it was out of the ordinary and contacted me months ago but also when I called yesterday the girl I spoke to would have mentioned it not just tell me about a huge bill and say it was your normal usage.
I got the app on my phone after the call and did some investigation myself into the usage and bang December was huge.
You would have thought she would have mentioned it and that you guys let me no in Jan .....
I never had miss Fortune. In dealing with such a bad company. What should’ve been a simple water connection has turned into a nightmare due to the fact that there surveyor told me one thing then went back on what he said and now they want me to pay another £500 for him to come out again he lies to me customer service is outrageous, but because they no you’ve got to have them put your water on, they’ve got you over a barrel. Disgusting behaviour. shouldn’t be allowed.

We have experienced a major sewage overflow into our property, leaving approximately half an inch of raw sewage covering our front garden, both side paths, and our driveway. It has also impacted three neighbouring properties, so this is not a minor issue.
The situation has been deemed urgent by the Environment Agency, who have attended, taken photos and videos, and confirmed that the sewage has also entered the nearby estuary.
Since yesterday, we have been feeling unwell, which is hardly surprising given the conditions we are being forced to live in. This is a serious health hazard, not just an inconvenience.
We were told a clean-up contractor would attend on Friday. It is now Monday, and despite multiple conversations both in person with the team and over the phone with Anglian Water, we still have no confirmed date or time for when this will be resolved.
We are effectively being left to live in a property contaminated with sewage, with no urgency, no accountability, and no clear communication.
This is completely unacceptable.
the website is awful, keeps crashing and when it works looks like its from 1995 and feels like a risk every time you trust it with your payment information, oh and Anglian Water are frequently and unapologetically polluting the local waterways
Anglian water closed a road for a week to install new pipework and man hole type covering. Within 24 hrs of road re opening the newly installed materials failed whilst being driven over causing the covers to give way damaging the car. Car written off. Anglian water immediately re sighted the covers/system to the grass verge so wouldn’t be driven over. 6 weeks on they’re still refusing to accept liability, trying to push liability onto local council. Meanwhile we are left without a vehicle to get to work/transport children to school etc. Appalling customer service and communication
We had a block drain, TOM came to the rescue. What an absolute outstanding guy 🫶. Very polite, explained everything in detail as he was sorting the problem out.

Excellent broken manhole cover replacement…
I had a broken manhole cover in front of my car port. Within 36 hours It was replaced, Stuart came to assess it and was very professional and friendly and Russel can twelve hours later with the correct cover and did a great job, again very professional and friendly. I have only good things to say about Anglia water ,
Anglian waters customer service was great, they sorted out an incorrect meter reading and also applied a leakage allowance to my account after finding out my toilet was leaking!

I’m a single person and was being charged 108 per month for water due to them not being able to fit a water meter and now they have drop the price to 50 per month what I still think is a little high but really we are not paying for the water we are paying for ceo who earns £720,000 per year …. What u think is an absolute joke of a wage !!!

My water supply was contaminated deliberately by Anglian waters own engineers on behalf of my neighbour Trudy Barnes at fifteen carpenters way Doddington who also used my landlords plumber Jason Hearn from March in Cambridgeshire to provide them with the contaminants I have not had drinking water for six weeks and have stopped my direct debit and would suggest you direct all your enquiries to the Metropolitan police who are investigating.

So this breaks my heart to do this but I don’t really know where I go from here!

On the 23rd December 2024 we was just about to leave our house to go food shopping for Christmas as I looked through to our garden and to find it was being FLOODED with the streets foul (not the just ours) I spent the next few hours on the phone to Anglian water trying to get to sort the issue, they came out had and look and said ( I think you have a blockage)!
No problem,had a clean down rodded it, no more issues…. (So we thought!!!).
A year later 26th February 2025 the same thing happens again, we call Anglian water again and said the same thing has happened and our garden is flooded with the street’s sewage please come help stop this as I have 2 children and 2 dogs that cannot go onto the garden…!
They came out had a look said nothing was wrong it was our system backing up! (Hang on)?????
Okay!!!!!….. roll on 14th Feb 2026 same issue arises (Anglian water called)

21st march same thing (Anglian water called) (environmental health called) bates came out and and said we need a non return valve fitting to stop this happening!!!
23rd march same thing (Anglian water called) someone came (jack) and put a camera down and said it wasn’t our sides fault it’s definitely coming from the mains side!

30th march same thing! (Somone came out to sort the situation alone to a 2man job so had to reschedule) (also called his supervisor ( who was clearly heard on the phone saying (me) I don’t know what I’m on about and that I’m saying I need a NRV needs fitting and that I’m wrong!! It was told by bates I needed this I didn’t make this up!
30th march pm 2 men came put a camera down and cleaned the pipes out and said that should hopefully solve the problem but they wasn’t sure they agreed a NRV needed fitting but wasn’t sure home it could happen on their side unless they done it on our side but apparently I’d if needs to go on our side they wouldn’t want to do it as we own our own house!!!! (WTF)
Wed 1st April overflow again in our garden worse than it was before!
Wed 1st April somone called (went to voice mail) to say they was coming to sort the problem, called on a no number left a message to say he was trying to find us but didn’t give me a number to call him back on! So no one tired up again!!! Environmental health was called again!
Friday 3rd April - same thing happened again but was flooding the garden more then before, Anglian water was called again and told that our child had unfortunately fallen onto the foul in the garden and got it on her! It was flagged as an urgent matter now, had a call tonight to say they will be out to unblock us within 5 days!!! We do not have a blockage in our pipes it’s the mains that can’t cope with their overflow and it’s pushing back up into our garden!
Anglian water are an absolute joke! If anyone can help please do so because I am literally pulling my hair out about this and I don’t want my children or dogs getting ill over this!
This is a huge health and safety and infection issue and Anglian water don’t seem to be bothered in the slightest about it!
Sad thing is I got told this would be resolved In 24h as I have children and dogs and we are still waiting over a year later!
