The year was 1990. I was 40 years old and wanted to learn medical transcription. I signed up for this course. I did that in a year, and worked another year as an "apprentice" and then went on to typing for a family practice, specialists, and then ended up specializing in oncology transcription. I'm 71 now and working at home for Rev Transcripts, my favorite job ever!

I became a very successful medical transcriptionist for a large cardiology practice due to the wonderful training I received from AHP. The education was very thorough and I was more than prepared for my job which I held for 12 years before I retired. I was in my 50s when I started so it was a great accomplishment which I would not have achieved without AHP!

First off, I want to thank everyone from the gentleman at the Seminar in my first step to a new career and then all the wonderful and beautiful people that have helped my journey to find my way through the program and how to submit quizzes. In order for Student Services, Customer Services, and all the Instructors to help you, one must be able to provide truthful information about themselves and not get cocky. I didn't listen to the beautiful woman that helped me submit my first three quizzes and instead of getting perfect scores I dropped due to I did not look over each quiz before submitting. This will teach me to slow down, rely on wisdom to get me through each assignment not my "I know it all" attitude. When having to change careers due to retirement, medical, or family life, one must be willing to trust everyone that is out there to help them and not be afraid to ask questions or seek out help when needed. Be honest, respectful, helpful, and sensere to yourself and those helping you to make this new life change more fun, independent, and worth the effort. I feel like the site is easy to navigate and helpful. I'm very disappointed that upon receiving all the flashcards I paid for, I had to rewrite them to adequately utilize them. The perforated lines to separate the cards were printed incorrectly, thus cutting the terms in half. This leaving no value/learning experience for me as the student/consumer.

It sounds like that might have been an isolated printing error as the flashcards should print with perforated lines so that you can separate them without needing to make adjustments. My journey started as an outing with my mother in law which led us to a seminar on the Healthcare Documentation program where we met Seth and resulted in both of us enrolled in the program. I must say I am pleasantly surprised and thrilled that it is everything that was discussed. I can not give 5 stars yet since I just started but what I can say is I am loving the material and have already aced my first quiz. I am looking forward to a bright future!

It is such a horrible shame that this company is still in business.....still scamming people....in trying to further my career, I've damaged my life by ever going to one of those stupid seminars. Don't get sucked in like I did guys, do your homework and you'll see, this is not the company it's purported to be.... SCAMMERS!!!

So far so good. Just finished my first and second lesson. Seemed pretty easy. But not sure how well the info is being remembered. Seems easy now. But just waiting for it to get very hard.

At-Home Professions.edu Eaver since the very beginning when I attended the seminar for at-home professions, I have found that the staff and personnel for educational certification has been very pleasant .I have earned several different degrees and in different industries throughout my career and I must say this is the most efficient, effective , easy to understand and apply education I have yet to earn, they make everything very easy, no general education is required like you would have to complete at any University or college to get the same education you learn from at-home professions and you will be provided by this course all the materials you will need to start. They give you the options of working with hard copy training so you can mail in your training or working online doing your training online and submitting your quizzes and tests electronically, They have made their courses to where you can train using any electronic device from a computer laptop tablet even your own smartphone you can study anytime and anywhere whether you have electronic devices or your hard copy materials, of course if you can't afford any electronic device at first, sometime throughout your course you will want to obtain a computer laptop smartphone or tablet that will be required to work from home but during the course itself you do not have to have a electronic device, you can do your studies and learn by hard copy and submit by mail, I really liked that part not every educational course you can not start right off with any school, college or university and not have to take your general education first and have your electronic device already, also you have to go by that school's criteria, at-home professions has made this experience very understandable they give you examples so you can understand exactly the meaning of your training you can do step by step either electronically or by mail all materials are included including your own current ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS code books, step by step instructions, your quizzes and tests have hard copies to mail in with envelopes or you can just electronically send your training in, I must give this course a five star rating for keeping an easy to understand level, instructors are available for questions. I have found if you don't have the medical terminology or background whereas if you were to attend a college or university you would spend a couple of years to get the same certification but you would have to attend your general eds first go to a campus and do your studies there on site, It is soooooo affordable with no student loans to pay off or grants to apply for. To work from home will be a dream come true at this stage of my career because retirement doesn't seem to be what I want at the end of my working life nor retirement. If you desire a change in your career I would highly recommend at-home professions to be your educational choice for certification into a new and exciting career. ***** I would recommend At-home Professions to my grandchildren not for just the education and learning but the affordability can not be matched by any educational institute I have yet to attend.

I have just started my classes and it is wonderful. To be able to go at my own pace is great. The classes are very affordable. I had to contact my instructor on something and I did not have to wait at all for an answer and they were very encouraging. I would recommend it to anyone
