The program itself is great! It is completely at your leisure so sometimes it’s hard to get motivated, that’s why it is so important to stick to a schedule. I’m more of a hands on person so even though I take the quizzes online I still order the books to read and highlight the important information from quizzes.

Absolutely, Randi! The self-paced nature of the course allows you time to take a break if needed, and setting goals and a schedule always helps in moving forward. We're glad you're enjoying your experience and appreciate your review!
Today was my second day ,and I already completed my first quiz and I scored at 80% not to bad in my opinion for some one just starting out. I know nothing about Medical billing . I got through the first part very easily and fast it . Wish me luck through out the course.

Awesome job getting started and thank you for the great review, Stephanie - you'll do great!
The program is amazing! It is very easy to read the lessons, the information is very clear. The team is great about reaching out to ensure students know they can reach out for help if needed. Also to encourage and motivate. The materials prepare you for everything you need to know on the quizzes. I wish I would've started sooner.

We love to hear this and are happy you are enjoying your experience, Dee!
The program so far is great. Only thing I would like to see is that when you log off for the day that it would save your spot on your reading. I have to make sure I write down where I left off.

Holly's Response:
Hi Katrina,
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review and share your concerns. We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along to the appropriate departments. At-Home Professions does not intend to be deceitful in our communications with students and we work hard to provide information that students need through several avenues. In all of our Rewards Club verbiage, we do state that there is a $100 maximum with the intent of the maximum meaning it applies to the program you are taking and all of the quizzes within it. Our flyers state: “During your enrollment with AHP, you can earn bonus awards for up to 10 assignments or a maximum of $100. Assignments are eligible for $10 awards only during Rewards Club campaigns and cannot total more than $100 during your enrollment.” We will ask our IT department to review all other verbiage that is posted during the promotional periods that we run Rewards Club to ensure it is clear that the $100 maximum is for a student’s enrollment within a program.
Due to the self-paced nature of distance education, we want to provide an incentive for students to continue making progress in their studies and reach their overall goals. We also love being able to provide this extra bonus once a student has reached graduate status as a reward for all the hard work they have put into their studies and in the hopes they can treat themselves to something special. We believe there is some confusion since you mentioned that $100 was tallied multiple times in your payment history; what you are referring to is the $100 seminar discount given for each of the five courses that are part of the whole program that you would have received for attending a seminar, which is separate from Rewards Club. These discounts apply towards your overall tuition, whereas Rewards Club is an added graduate bonus sent to students in the form of a check when they meet graduate requirements.
At-Home Professions’ courses are designed by experienced educators and industry professionals to cover the skills needed to be successful in the field of your choice. The program is designed to allow students to choose the profession or professions they are most interested in by covering Medical Billing, Medical Coding, and Medical Transcription and Editing, which gives an added benefit of having knowledge related to any of the fields they choose to pursue. The AAPC exam to become a Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice utilizes mainly two of the five courses in the program, although information from the introductory course applies as well. Because of this, the Healthcare Documentation Program does cover content that is not found in the AAPC’s CPC exam but is necessary if you choose to pursue any of the other fields.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your overall experience and congratulate you on your achievements. We wish you the best on your AAPC exam and as you transition into the healthcare field; you will be a valuable asset to them!
My Response:
Holly, thank you for your response and candor. Providing the details in a paper "flyer" received one time prior isn't really providing total transparency for someone in the course for 1-3 years. To show total transparency, being available, and in the same degree of detail each time the window opened to offer it or at best in a section on the active site used daily by the students on their account management pages, is what I consider total transparency. Detailed verbiage ready to pull by the students is all I am saying.
Thank you for your attention to this concern.
-Katrina

Thank you for your response, Katrina.
Best wishes,

I began the Healthcare Documentation Specialist program before but, because of personal reasons, did not complete it. I have decided it is time to finish this goal and have begun my courses again. The staff have been friendly and helpful in getting me started again. The courses are laid out well and I have a goal to be done in December.
I also appreciate the positive feedback when completing lessons and quizzes. It helps to push me forward to my ultimate goal of finding a new job.

We love that you're loving it, Connie - thank you for the wonderful review!
I'm not even through the first course yet. So it's really unfair for me to review as of yet and why I chose only 3 stars. However, I've been in the medical field over 20 years and this is definitely a refresher course much needed as I realized how much I have forgot that I have not been using in my current job.
Finally getting started into studies, having enrolled many months ago at Bangor, Maine seminar, which was very informative in itself. Everything so far has been exactly as presented, to and including two phone calls to them - some time apart - that I was "still here" given my delay in getting started. Both representatives friendly, understood delay, and both re-assured me that I had 3 years to complete and they were here for anything I needed once I began in earnest. Study material presented in organized, helpful ways, both on-line and hard copy (my preferred). Look forward to ramping up studies and future certification. Thank you A.H.P.
