Lied About Water Damage to New RV
TLDR: These guys are scam artists. Lied to me about new camper having water damage to try to get me to buy more expensive alternative.
I visited Camping World (CW) - Hamburg, PA and looked at 3 RVs they had on site. I had a top one of those three, but I really had my eyes set on a New 2026 Forest River Wildwood X-Lite 263BHLX that was at another Camping World in Apollo, PA (3 hours away from me). It was the only model in the state. I came to an agreement with CW - Hamburg to put $2,000 down and they would bring the RV from Apollo to Hamburg for free. After the RV arrived, I would inspect it and, if everything looked good, I would purchase it. Hamburg put in a request to have the RV transferred from Apollo to Hamburg.
Once it was in transit, it changed on the Camping World website from being available at Apollo with a listed price to having a “Deal Pending” status without a price shown and the location being listed as Hamburg instead of Apollo. Stock # 2619362 for RV listed on Camping World website. I was told it would take about a week for it to arrive. This was around Thursday, July 30th. I got a call the following Monday, August 3rd, and was informed that the RV had arrived, however there was a problem. I was told that the Apollo dealership did not inform the Hamburg dealership that there was extensive water damage to the RV. So much so, that the RV could not pass their presale inspection before it was sold to me. I was then asked if I wanted to purchase the other model I was looking at. It was a 2027 RV and cost several thousand dollars more. I told them that I would need to take the rest of the week to think about it.
During that week, I decided to visit a smaller, local RV dealership and looked at a New 2027 Forest River Wildwood X-Lite 263BHLX. I decided to go with this dealership and get the 2027 Wildwood. I called CW - Hamburg on Thursday, August 6th, and informed them that I would be going with another dealership and asked for my $2,000 down payment to be returned. It took a couple days, but I did get my full $2,000 down payment back into my bank account. Meanwhile, the next day after telling CW - Hamburg that I was going with another dealership, on Friday August 7th, CW - Hamburg had the RV I had intended to purchase up on their website without a “Deal Pending” status and a price shown, indicating that it was available to purchase. It was listed with the same Stock Number (2619362) as the one I was intending to purchase.
So, it appears that they either: A) Lied to me about the water damage in order to get me to buy a more expensive model. Or B) Listed the RV for sale, even though it had “extensive water damage,” without letting it be known on the website to anyone looking to purchase it. Either way, it is a scumbag move and completely unprofessional. If you are looking to buy an RV, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE.

They do not stand behind their…
They do not stand behind their products. Customer service is horrible! Buyers beware!
Customer service refuse to honor their online given pricing. The so-called supervisor told me that getting to their website from Google invalidates any pricing given. Was completely rude and unhelpful will not ever use their company again if I can help it. One should honor their advertised pricing.

**★☆☆☆☆**
**★☆☆☆☆**
Our experience with Camping World in Kaysville, Utah was one of the most frustrating vehicle purchases we've ever attempted.
After viewing the RV, we promptly provided everything requested to complete the financing process. We were told our pickup would be on **August 7, 2026**. On **August 5**, we were informed that our financing had been approved. Then on **August 6**, we were told they had secured an even better financing approval.
Later that same day, we were told the RV would not be ready until at least noon on August 7. While this was inconvenient, we adjusted our travel plans and campground reservations. Because we were traveling across multiple states, changing those reservations at the last minute meant paying additional deposits and, in some cases, the full cost of campsites.
About an hour after making all of those changes, Camping World called and told us the financing was no longer going to work and that we should not come to pick up the RV.
To make matters worse, we had been repeatedly encouraged to put more money down on the RV. We provided a **$5,000 good-faith check** after being specifically told it would **not** be cashed until we decided whether to use it as a down payment or simply receive it back when we picked up the RV.
Instead, Camping World deposited our check on **August 5** without our authorization to do so. After the deal fell apart, we were told they would mail us a refund check rather than immediately returning funds that should never have been withdrawn.
We understand that financing approvals can change. What is unacceptable is telling customers they are approved, confirming pickup dates, having them rearrange travel plans, cashing a good-faith check contrary to what was promised, and then canceling everything at the last minute.
The lack of communication, organization, and follow-through cost us both time and money. We expected far better from a national dealership.

Do NOT try to trade
Camping World Wauconda:
Do NOT try to trade, sell or consign your RV. They will give you a high offer over the phone then conduct a "Courtesy Inspection", nitpick every single little flaw or perceived flaw (like these aren't used and parked outside year round) then come back with an other offer thousands lower, blaming it on the condition. Even going so far as to locate things like a missing bolt and claim the entire part needs replaced. They base their numbers on full price retail parts and shop repair labor rates to spike the cost. We worked with Rebecca. Don't.

Item is on backorder
When I placed my order, your website did not indicate that the item was on backorder. It appeared to be available, so I placed my order expecting it to ship promptly.
After several days with no shipment or communication, I had to open a PayPal dispute. Only after I filed the dispute did I receive an email informing me that the item is on backorder.
This information should have been disclosed before I placed the order, not afterward.

Tulsa Store - Very Poor Service
If you value a good service department and an honored warranty, stay far far away from this place (Tulsa branch). Between April 2026 and July 2026 I dropped off my camper to have the furnace fixed 3 times (camper was purchased in January). End of story? Still no working furnace. Should I take it back? Yeah, maybe, but why do that when I could just feed myself slowly feet first through a meat grinder? Not worth it! I get a sick feeling in my stomach every time I think of this place. Go elsewhere, and pray you get your money's worth. If you want to see desperation, you'll see it really well at the point of sale. If you want to see indifference, you'll see it really well at the point of complaining about poor service.

Service from start to finish was excellent. They took care of me and my wife very well. Our technician Rob from the Elkhart, IN location went above and beyond his duties to assure that everything was clean, done right, and that I knew exactly how to use and service my camper. I don't know Rob's last name but that man needs a raise!

Awful
Awful. Yeah, I bought RVs, including a large class a from this CampingWorld store in Denton, Texas. Our camper was scraped by passing RV. They guaranteed the insurance company a two day repair a two week total time in shop. It was there four months! With the minor bodywork they did they removed the wrong decal. They put a new window in and did not secure it, and it fell out. They created ridges in the paint after a very simple body repair and worst of all they continually lied about the status of the repair. But we were hostage for four months and missed half the camping season. Do not use CampingWorld. They took no ownership just delay after delay for what was to be a two day repair. FOUR MONTHS!!

The worst customer service and repair…
The worst customer service and repair shop I have ever experienced. I bought a boat at Poteau Camping world that has broken down 3 times in the past 3 years. The service department will not even call me back nor can you get them to answer the phone. This should be a warranty repair on a Suzuki motor. I have had to be towed I from the lake 3 times. The failure of the motor has been the same symptoms each time. I have had it at their service department two previous times. Still fails at use. The motor has less than 20 hours on it. I am going to see is a local mechanic can fix it. The boat is in a marina and I have no way to move it.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We bought a brand new camper last July, was in for service 2 weeks later for a non-functional air conditioner. They gave it back and said "actually, its fine". Turns out it wasn't working because the ducts weren't connected to the vents so the air was just blowing into the abyss. Brought it back and showed them, they taped it.
Fast forward to this June when we took it out of storage. Every seal was cracked or torn, the underbelly had a huge gap that allowed in a mouse despite the same mouse-proofing we've done for years with our old camper, a window leaked because of a gap in the seal which leaked into the camper and onto the dinette which caused water damage. All of these issues were brought to their attention and we are now on the 4th service visit because nothing has actually been repaired in the first 3 visits. They left a pack of cigarettes in my camper during its time in getting "serviced", they "repaired" the torn seals with flex tape, didn't reattach the trim because "there's nowhere to connect it to" and refused to do anything about the water damage that will 100% cause mold. Not one person at camping world has been helpful. I will be filing a complaing with the better business bureau and will be using my professional connections (luckily I manage media relations) to contact local news. Camping world should be immediately forced out of business, they aren't just inconveniencing my life, they're potentially causing harm to my family by allowing all of these issues to go unfixed. I should have just bought a tent with a waterproof cover because at least if that failed, I'd only be out a few hundred, not $50K.
Oh, and I might add that this is all during our initial warranty period, now kicks in the extended warranty I bought for $10,000 that will clearly never pay off because no one knows how to do their jobs or how customers should be treated.
Looked up an item online. Said it was available for pick up. It said there were 2 in-stock. MY order was cancelled and camping world said it was no longer available in store! Now if I want it I have to call.pleaee tell me its not available in store before I purchase.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
The most antiquated, rude and totally lacking - customer service experience. I will never, ever buy ANY products from Camping World. Their online customer service and store transparency is glaringly lacking., the company is unconcerned about customer satisfaction, they could care less. Bottomline, buyer beware.
I have never had a positive experience EVER with this store or company. Despite spending thousands on an RV, multiple parts purchases, and in-store or online purchases… this company treats me like dirt on the bottom of its shoe. They seriously are the most ignorant and disrespectful people in the entire RV industry. I’ve been lied to right to my face. Lied to by their customer service, and most recently customer service is purposely ignoring multiple emails I have sent about the absolute mishandling and mismanagement of an in-store pickup order. I’d also like to add that camping world has never once tried to make-up for their horrible service and terrible attitudes; they never apologize, they never try to remedy, rectify, make amends or compensate for ANY type of negative experience. It’s amazing they’re somehow still in business.
Do your homework before going to Camping World for service
I have an older class C RV. My Norcold fridge went out and it had to be replaced. I called Camping World in Albuquerque. I was told that they couldn't order the replacement fridge for me. I had to order it myself at their website. I asked, so I order it online and I just have it shipped to you and you do the install?? I was told yes. So what is the cost for the install? I was quoted a price of almost $3,000 for JUST the labor for the install and that did NOT include the labor cost for the removal of the old unit. That was extra. I was also told that there would also be a shipping fee of over $200, plus sales taxes. Are you kidding me? I ordered the new Norcold fridge (same model) from another online supplier (3 - 5 day ship time) for less than camping world AND the shipping was FREE and no tax. I had an Albuquerque based, certified RV tech come to my home in Santa Fe (no need for the time and gas to go to Albuquerque). He did the removal of the old unit and the install of the new unit for $750 (and that included the trip charge) vs. the minimum $3000 quote from Camping World. Frankly, if Camping World doesn't want to do fridge installs, just don't offer that service but to charge 4 times the going rate is an obvious attempt to rip-off the unsuspecting customer.

Dishonest
At the Ridgeland dealer the parts department raised the price of parts for my truckbed camper tiedowns even though the company they ordered them from doesn't make them for my truck which I had to look up myself. Waited 5 hours for them to tell me that they wouldn't work. Took me 5 minutes to look up online to get the information myself. Two months later I tried to call and get a trade in value on my camper and purchase a new camper and I have yet to hear back from them. I can't believe that they have been allowed to do business this way. Not sure of exact date in June.
Stay far away from this company. There is nothing ethical about them. DO NOT use their consignment program. It is nothing more than a scam. They give you an offer then nickel and dime you and make things up in order to purchase your camper for next to nothing. If you think this scam is worth persuing and you actually get a call from carley quick (regional consignment manager) hang up and go get your camper from the dealership. She is absolutely worthless and clueless. I can give countless examples and I have plenty of examples documented in emails that show how unethical camping world is.
