We loved the Queen Mary 2 for so many different reasons, but having Rachel as our steward (I don’t know her last name but she’s from Zimbabwe) was like winning the lottery. Some people just have a gift for making others feel happy and important and she has this gift in abundance.
I would have absolutely have no hesitation in recommending a cruise with Cunard. We absolutely love being on board with them. The destinations, the quality of the food the dressing up in the evening, the fact that the ship is not crowded and the opulence. The crew on board want to ensure you have the best experience. I can't wait to book my next cruise with them !!
First time on Cunard , Queen Victoria is a nice ship with some wonderful classical interiors but just starting to show some signs of age. Piano bar very nice with good singer/pianist, good pool areas with lots of towels available. The staff were generally all very polite and helpful, our cabin steward was terrific but we felt some of the staff in the dining room were just going through the motions and not always paying attention to detail, missing cutlery and/or condiments on table, several times the wine waiter did not come to our table and several times we were not offered coffee, it felt the staff were more concerned in getting ready for the next day as on some occasions our plates were cleared before everyone had finished the meal . The food in the restaurant was fine but not very memorable. In the Lido buffet restaurant trays are not available meaning many visits to the various areas to get what was needed resulting in the food or drinks getting cold during this time. We found it a little quiet onboard, most areas were deserted by 11pm, we don't do ballroom dancing so the ballroom area was one of the main areas we did not use, classical or chamber music playing in the chart room lounge bar, some gentle New York jazz lounge background music would have been much more suitable and more enjoyable. Some nice beer glasses would have been nice to drink out of instead of the very basic sometimes scratched glasses used on board. Little choice of beers 1 lager and 1 draft beer only. We Enjoy gala evenings but the themed ones 'roaring 20's & masked ball cheapened the evening it was more like fancy dress with some ridiculous costumes on display. Dress code not always followed by some which was disappointing. Our cabin 4009 was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony, bathroom was ok but the shower had no flexi hose which was surprising, the balcony loungers were looking a bit tatty, we could clearly hear the music from the theatre in our cabin but luckily it did not go on too late. Ships Info/Announcements could not be heard inside the cabin or understood if on the balcony, the only way to hear them was to open the cabin door and listen in the hallway. only one 3 pin plug in cabin No USB or USBC sockets . Very expensive internet , shuttle bus drivers using phone when driving . We still enjoyed the Cunard experience, the destinations were great ( with the exception of Naples which was horrible) and we had a lovely holiday. Gary & Fiona Wright

I am relatively new to cruising but wanted to try Cunard for our next cruise. I made a booking, but after reading reviews, I discovered that the fare does not include tips and service fees. So I tried to cancel within 24 hours, but Cunard refused to refund my £483 deposit. I explained that there was no mention of these hidden costs on the booking page, and in any case we aren't traveling until next March, and it's within 24 hours, but they would not budge. I asked to speak to a manager on two separate occasions, but they refused. They just said it's their policy. I have never come across a company as inflexible as Cunard. Other cruise companies refund the deposit outside of the full payment date. Their customer service is terrible. And because they failed to mention the additional costs, I am now £500 out of pocket. Absolutely disgraceful! Will never book Cunard.

Was completely wowed by our recent transatlantic sailing from Southampton to New York City. The moment we stepped on board the ship, all sights and experiences were awe inspiring. Highly recommended a trip on the Queen Mary 2 for a lifetime experience like no other.
We recently sailed on Queen Mary 2 on a Transatlantic voyage from Southampton to New York and had a fantastic experience. The ship remains an iconic ocean liner, combining elegance, tradition, and the unique qualities that make the Cunard experience so special. The service throughout the voyage was exceptional. Staff across the ship were friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests felt welcome and well looked after. We also found the atmosphere onboard to be particularly warm and sociable, with interactions between passengers making the ship feel friendlier than many others we have sailed on. The ship is clearly very well maintained. We noticed a few minor cosmetic signs of age, such as some rust streaking on balcony areas and around a few exterior windows, but these are understandable on a vessel that is now over 20 years old. It was good to see crew members regularly carrying out maintenance work, demonstrating the care invested in keeping the ship in excellent condition. If there was one area for improvement, it would be some of the evening entertainment, which we felt was not quite as strong as that offered by some other cruise lines. However, this was a minor point in what was otherwise an excellent holiday. Overall, Queen Mary 2 delivered a memorable voyage with outstanding service, a friendly atmosphere, and all the hallmarks of the Cunard experience. We would happily sail with Cunard again.
I have been on a few other cruise ships and I would never consider anything but Cunard. We have been on 11 different crossings. All of them are extremely enjoyable. One time we tried a different cruise ship and we just did not find it as elegant and the food as good which is important. The ship is just beautiful and nothing can be compared. Especially the Queen Mary being at Ocean liner there is no other one. Also the food even if you are staying in the Britannia which is the basic one. You still get food that is incredible both on the buffet and then the fine dining restaurant. When we went on the other cruise ship the food was not as good.

A beautiful ship and truly beautiful staff on board who made our stay unforgettable. We were upgraded to the Princess Grill and wow it did not disappoint! The food, service and ship were a truly unforgettable experience. I miss it already!
A complaint concerning the money grabbing mercenary attitude of this company, having cruised with them before on three occasions and due to go on a 24 day Caribbean cruise in November with my partner. I now found I must travel alone and informed Cunard accordingly and then to my surprise found out just how mean and nasty this Cunard has proved to be. Imply a four figure penalty charge for me to go on the same cruise ( never had this with any other cruise line ), and if I didn’t want to lose my £1,400 booking deposit, must take another cruise within the year costing more than value of this one over £8,000. Incredible ? Celebrity Cruises simply changed , what a different customer attitude to travel documents at no cost. MONEY GRABBING CUNARD, yet still this greedy unprofessional company continue to sen me holiday brochures. They must be JOKING wanting ever to cruise again with this bunch of cowboys ? Trying to contact them with a complaint proving impossible, hardly surprising

Such a great expérience to cross the Atlantic aboard the QMII. The Queen Mary II was above my expectations: 5-star services, entertainment, the evening shows at the théâtre were great. I highly recommend this luxurious liner.
Cunard is really the thinking person's cruise line. Ditch the rest and go with the best! It may not be the best for kids or best for entertainment, but the food is excellent, the service great and the daytime programs superb.
Everything perfect. No loud noisy groups and entertainment not at ear deafening volumes. Great food and entertainment.

The Queen Mary 2 is elegant without being stuffy. The ship is beautiful, with many lovely spaces to enjoy whatever activity you may wish. I especially enjoyed the library and fabulous lectures, but there were activities throughout the day and evening for everyone. The crew were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Unless you're looking for a manic party atmosphere, this ship is for you.
Our experience in Alaska on the Cunard was phenomenal! Every detail attended to, the staff delightful, entertainment top notch and the overall experience is something that will forever be in our hearts and minds. It felt like we were living the good parts of the Titanic ❤️🥰. Loved it all! We even had a Christian Fellowship while on board! That really was so special for us! Cunard has really made our experience unforgettable!
