Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently mention that the educational courses are extremely informative, clear, and very easy to follow from beginning to end. Many consumers find the online platform engaging and very helpful for understanding road rules, which successfully boosts their confidence before taking the actual driving test.
Some reviewers were not happy with the lengthy lesson timers, noting that waiting on slides wastes a significant amount of time. Furthermore, users frequently mentioned that certain unskippable videos and repetitive sections made the overall learning process feel much longer than necessary.

If zero stars was an option, I would select that. BEWARE THIS COURSE IS NOT 30 hours. My daughter has spent over 40 hours on this nightmare that appears to never end. The timer does not calculate minute for minute and your child will spend double time that is needed for this education.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be to spend significantly more time than expected completing the course, especially when you're trying to plan around your daughter's schedule. The 30 hours refers to the required amount of course instruction, but because the course is self-paced, the total time to complete it can vary depending on reading speed, videos, assessments, and time spent reviewing the material. We appreciate your feedback about the timer and overall completion time, and we'll be sure to share it with our team. If you'd like us to look into your daughter's specific course progress, please reach out to us at [email protected].
Their customer service really needs some work. We signed up for an Online DriverED course for my teenager, and the site clearly advertised unlimited practice tests as part of the package. After my son finished the course, though, the Smart Practice feature was locked and required an extra $9.99 to unlock.
I contacted customer service about it, and they told me we must have needed to manually select that option during checkout — something I don't recall seeing anywhere. When I pushed back, they still insisted we pay the $9.99 if we wanted access to it.
Honestly, there are plenty of free practice test resources out there (including AI-generated ones), so this isn't worth the hassle. Just wanted to give others a heads-up to read the fine print carefully before buying.

The different sections are easy to understand and straightforward, there also are videos in case things get confusing. I think it's a good way to start learning about driving and all the things that come with it.

I signed my daughter up for DriversEd.com because it came highly recommended, but my experience has been disappointing.
The advertised $39 price is tied to enrollment in a "free" roadside assistance trial that automatically renews for $5/month unless you cancel. While that's disclosed, what wasn't obvious was how difficult it would be to actually cancel.
The roadside assistance cannot be canceled from the parent account—it has to be done through the student's account. After logging into the student account, we discovered the roadside membership was still "processing," so there wasn't even a membership ID available to cancel the trial. In other words, we wanted to opt out immediately, but the system wouldn't let us.
That combination of requiring enrollment in an auto-renewing subscription, limiting cancellation to a different account, and then preventing immediate cancellation because the membership isn't fully set up feels like an unnecessary obstacle. It left me feeling like I had signed up for something I didn't want and couldn't promptly cancel.
The driver's education course itself may be perfectly fine, but the enrollment and subscription experience left a very poor first impression. I would much rather pay a few dollars more for a course that doesn't bundle an auto-renewing subscription with this kind of cancellation process.
I hope DriversEd.com either makes the roadside assistance truly optional at checkout or allows customers to cancel it immediately from either the parent or student account.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Michael. And we're sorry to hear the enrollment process left you feeling frustrated. We understand how disappointing it can be when you're trying to cancel a trial right away and run into unexpected obstacles.
The roadside assistance trial is included as part of the discounted course offer, and enrollment occurs when the terms and conditions are accepted during checkout. While the trial and automatic renewal are disclosed before purchase, we understand your feedback that the cancellation process wasn't as straightforward as you expected, especially while the membership was still processing.
Our team would be happy to review your roadside assistance membership and help with any questions or concerns. Please email us at [email protected], and we'll be glad to look into your account and assist further. We also appreciate your feedback regarding making the roadside assistance optional and improving the cancellation experience, and we'll be sure to share it with the appropriate team.
straight crooks!!! it is impossible to cancel subscription from their app. too many companies, this one included, are perpetually charging customers banking on the customers and inability to write daily emails to get these mfers to cancel their subscription. i am mad as hell and i ain’t going to take it anymore!!!!

Cheap and easy to understand. However, the format that lessons are presented on are unbearably boring and you can't retake quizzes in order to study for the test. At the end of the day, it is affordable and gets the job done.

We are absolutely thrilled to hear you had such an amazing and educational experience with us, Erik! Your enthusiasm is truly infectious, and we sincerely appreciate your wonderful recommendation.
The overall course is great. It can be finished fairly quickly, it is easy to understand, and it provides videos to help the learner. However, it is a very text heavy course so it does get boring and less engaging over time.

Horrible. Kept saying that I'd hit the state 4 hour limit before I had even hit it, yet while at the same time the progress bar at the side would only show that I'd done only like 3 or 4% of the 24 hours needed, which is about 45 minutes. So basically I would do 2.5 hours, get kicked out for somehow doing 4 hours at the same time, yet only gain less than a hour's worth of progress, all at the same time.
Furthermore, there was once time where I did a lesson that was worth 1 hour and 4 minutes. I finished it, yet it only gave me 1% progress of the 24 hours, which is around 14.4 minutes.
This has caused me to be able to get my driver's license about 2-3 months later since the people who give out drivers lessons have a full schedule for the next several months.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating that must have been, especially when it impacted your timeline for getting your driver’s license.
The course is designed to track both state-required time and course progress, so what you described doesn’t sound like the experience we want students to have. We’d really like the opportunity to review your account and investigate what may have occurred.
Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your account details so our team can take a closer look and assist you directly.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Kaiyan.
