I recently had the privilege of leading a group of students on EF's Italy & Spain tour, and it was truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Watching my students stand in the Colosseum, explore the Vatican, wander through the streets of Florence, and experience the energy of Barcelona and Madrid reminded me why educational travel is so powerful. It was an unforgettable experience, not only for my students but for me as an educator. First trip to Europe
Thoroughly enjoyed the behind the scenes tidbits provided by our tour guides along the way. The experiences our kids were able to participate in were both educational, interactive and fun.
He loved his experience but would have had more options for food and portion sizes. Could not read the language and didn't have much help with translation!
Sites and experiences were amazing and educational!
Cande our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. She treated us like family. Always helpful and giving us ideas on free time as well as keeping the schedule on the app updated. She made the trip memorable and enjpyable.
Overall, the tour was good. We enjoyed sights in both London and Paris, saw Wiked on stage, and took an evening boat tour on the Sine. I was a bit disappointed about the fact that we did not get to go in Westminster Abbey, or up in the Eiffel Tower. We actually only had 10 minutes to take pictures at the Eiffel Tower. I honestly would have preferred a shorter bus tour of Paris, and more time to be at the Eiffel Tower. We did get to do some shopping this trip, which was a plus from our previous trip to Rome.
The biggest issue I had with everything was that when arriving in Paris my daughter and three other 12 year old girls were placed in a room on the second floor of the hotel; there were NO adults in the room, and NO adults or other members of our tour on the same floor. Everyone else from our tour was on the 3rd, 5th, or 7th floor. This was a HUGE safety concern. At no time should children be placed on a totally different floor away from anyone in their group. Due to this, we had to bring our daughters into our already tight rooms, and sleep with the beds pushed together and 3 people crammed in the space. Both the tour Director and our tour Leader were aware of this, as they went in to get the keys/room assignments. Neither seemed to care about the safety concern this presented to these girls, or to us as parents.
The tour itself was great, the arrival, however, had a few issues for different group members. Also a concern with information transparency going into the planning phase. I rate it three because there were issues, but I don't think anyone else could have delivered a better result for the money.
Loved it! Great adventure. Child said would love to have spent more time in Grenada and less in Madrid. Would have liked to take the train rather than the bus.
EF provides top quality tours from start to finish. Some things go wrong and some groups don’t gel but that’s life and nothing to do with EF. I’ve traveled with them twice. I highly recommend them.
I went on and EF Tour trip when I was 16 and was thrilled to get to send my girls on one now. They had an amazing time in France and Spain. They absolutely loved their tour guide Sergio and would go back to Spain in a second if they could.
