Sent me bent “Tom Ford” frames with metal logo missing!

Sent me “Tom Ford” frames that I paid $420 for with expedited shipping and they were literally missing one of the Tom Ford logos and the frame/arms are bent and don’t sit flush when set down on a flat surface, meaning they were misaligned. Absolutely fuming right now. Terrible oversight by the FD team. I wish I could upload a photo to show how the frames look. - UPDATE: Called in and spoke with someone and they didn’t even offer a remedy except the inconvenience of me having to pack the item, leave my home and return it which I thought was strange. They send me a defective pair of frames and then they don’t even offer anything for the inconvenience or offer anything to retain my business. Pretty sad customer service.

My daughter recently broke her glasses

My daughter recently broke her glasses, which we had originally purchased at a local store. Thankfully, I was able to find the model number and look it up online, which is how I found this website. My only complaint is that they didn't have the pink frames my daughter had, but they did carry a light green option, so that had to do. The prices at our local store were well over $100, but we were able to buy them here for only $60–70, which was a huge savings. Plus, the glasses shipped very quickly. We bought two pairs of frames, just in case she accidentally breaks the new ones. Shipping was fast and the frames arrived in pristine condition. Overall, we're very happy. It would have been nice if they had the same pair she already had.

I decided to try Frames Direct after having consistently good experiences with other online eyewear retailers, mainly because they offered a wider frame selection. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The progressive lenses I received were noticeably inferior compared to what I’ve gotten elsewhere. The quality just didn’t meet expectations, especially given the price point. Customer service was equally disappointing. Communication was extremely slow — responses took about three days each time, and resolving anything required multiple back-and-forth emails. I also tried calling, but the experience wasn’t any better. The representative was unhelpful and didn’t provide any real solutions. If you’re looking for reliable quality, responsive customer service, and a professional experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Exact sunglasses at a great discount!

Got the exact sunglasses my daughter-in-law wanted at a great discount! These were over $100 cheaper than everywhere else I looked. Shipping took longer than hoped but still received them within 2 weeks. I worried they might not come with a case for such a good price, but they came with the case and in a rayban box as well.

Great Company had the frames in stock I like that are of super high quality. Staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. Frames were at a good price. They arrived quickly. Also received a hard snap box glasses case with cleaning cloth at no charge. Highest recommendation!!

Insurance Pricing Practices

TLDR; eyewear vendors show one price, then raise that price when you apply insurance. There is a way around this (check with your insurance company first.) By going out of network or paying in full and being reimbursed. framesdirect is in my insurance network for vision coverage. I selected a pair of frames that I liked the price (including discounts) was roughly $300. When I applied insurance, they raised the price of the frames and claimed that insurance can not be applied along with the discounts. The bottom line was - WITH insurance, the frames would cost me $1 more than without insurance. Presumably framesdirect just pockets the money given to them by the insurance company and no benefit is given to the customer at all. This is, as I understand it, a common practice. Frankly I find it obscene and there is a way around it. If you purchase frames either paying in full yourself, or purchase from an out of network provider - you pay the discounted rate and then the insurance benefit is deducted from what you actually pay. I went to an out of network provider, found the same frames, discounted to $300, and paid about $150 (the provider may submit the claim for you, or you may have to pay the full amount and be reimbursed.)
