MP145 + S9 for some soulful music by Andy Timmons! For the price of these in-ear-monitors & dac it is very hard to beat indeed! Technical and it brings to life all the dynamics of the players from smooth chops to grainy overdrives!🤘🏼
-It’s Neutral sounding leaning to bright spectrum, it won’t give you the note weight of some warmish dongle but it is for people that likes those easy listening songs.
-Note separation is decent, soundstage and imaging is at average width but not shouty in your face voices and instruments. Abit airy and sparkles on the treble but not that offensive and notes aren’t cramped.
-I played songs from ‘80s rock/metal to new pop songs till ‘23. This dongle favors songs from ballads to more prominent male/female voices like America, , Eagles, Airsupply, Lady songbirds and all others except Metal,Rock and progs.
I recently bought an SD2 DAC. With all the marketing and advertisement, I thought I would give it a try.
It worked well and then I got some funny behavior when I switched from Apple Music to Shazam to listen to some tunes. It started blinking and the music stopped. It was not a big deal but when customer service reached out to ask about my satisfaction, I told about what happened to me.
To my surprise an answer and a solution were given to me within hours.
I am really satisfied now
Got Hidizs XO Dongle :
Pros : - Neutral sound signature, with a bit of warmth.
- Noise free
- Expansive, airy soundstaging
- The size is small easy to tucked into in ear monitor case
- MQA format is supported
- RGB panel if you like it
- Filters button if it works
Cons : - Filters have no effect to the sound
- No 4.4 mm balaced port
- No gain switch
- No volume buttons
1. Unboxing: Firstly, I was quite surprised by the size of the box and the DAC of this XO. It's very small. But it could be a plus point. The contents are very simple: DAC, USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-A connector, instruction manuals, and the HiRes logo.
2. Body :
a. The size is very small and thin. I like it because it can be tucked into my Tanchjim Oxygen's case box. Very practical, one small box contains both IEM and DAC, ready to slip into my pocket.
b. It's a pity that the balanced port uses a 2.5mm size, which is now rarely used in other DACs.
c. Perhaps this is the only DAC with a button to change sound filters. There are 2 filter options marked with blue and red lights. It's just a shame that I didn't notice any difference in sound when pressing the filters; perhaps my hearing is limited. If there really is a change, this would be a big plus point for the XO.
d. RGB Panel : it only for visual purposes and matching with my keyboard hahaha, it would have been more interesting if the color were to be reflecting to the sound wave of the music being played, but it's not.
3. User Experience :
a. The XO is quite stable during usage, rarely experiencing disconnections with the smartphone.
b. The XO doesn't have a volume button. You can using the UAPP app that allows for volume step adjustment up to 100 steps.
c. Battery Consumption: The XO provides a runtime of approximately 10 hours, which is quite sufficient for my needs.
d. With the 3.5mm port, the XO can still drive my IEM : Oxygen and Nightingale effectively.
e. This is my first DAC that supports MQA. I tried MQA on Tidal using the UAPP, and the indicator light on the XO turned purple, indicating successful MQA playback. This was a new experience for me.
4. Sound : I'm very pleased because this is the first time I've heard the sound quality of MQA. It's safe to say that it's almost on par with DSD in terms of sound quality. The advantage of MQA is that it can be obtained via streaming legally. I categorize the XO as a DAC that is quite neutral and detailed, with a slightly warm tone due to its deep bass response. The midrange vocals and instruments sound natural and clear, while the treble is crisp and dry. There's no background noise at all. The soundstage feels spacious, and instrument separation is excellent.
5. Conclusion: The Hidizs XO is the small DAC with tremendous capacity. It's highly reliable in terms of both sound and power. I highly recommend it, especially since currently on sale for $60.
My experience with hidizs was perfect, and the product purchased is exactly what's been advertised. The shipment took about two weeks to Europe, which is pretty good. I definetly recommend the store for high quality products for a fair price.
Purchased the AP80 Pro-X without knowing anything much about Hidizs. In truth it was also due to the Chinese New Year sale they had. Man am I glad I did! Fantastic sound! I needed a device that would play flacs through my new WiiM Amp via a cable connection, and this does the job beautifully. Quality internal DAC and you can really hear the difference. The only downside is no wi-fi connectivity option but hopefully that will come in a new model soon.
I love the little unit!
Excellent products. Amazing quality. A must buy from them if you like high quality musical experience. Perfect match for Apple Music, I am getting best quality with Hidizs SD2 Hi-fi Dongle DAC type-c to 3.5 mm adapter with HidizsMS-1 Galaxy. I am 100% satisfied with their customer support as well.
Thanks Hidizs team for best quality products.
I recently bought the the MP145 earphones, AP80 Pro X music player, and the DH80 dac amp. I bought the s9 pro too. What really impressed me was the build quality of Hidizs products as well as the portability. You can easily put any of these into your pockets without carrying a big bag. Sound quality was clear and very soothing to the ears, lending to long listening duration without listening fatigue. I strongly recommend Hidizs products.
The Hidizs MS-1 Galaxy (20 USD) is a bassy IEM targeted at the entry-level market. Based on the graph that I measured, the bass has about 12 db of boost (see photo). It is easy to drive with average sensitivity. The peak at 8 KHz is a measurement artifact.
.
Technicalities;
You will never mistake this for a more expensive set; it is average in the below-25-dollar price range, except that the sound stage size is above average; it is surprisingly big, more deep, and high than it is wide.
.
Bass;
It is big, punchy, and enjoyable; it is not the most textured or defined, but it is not too boomy either; it sounds reasonably fast and very engaging.
.
Midrange;
very recessed and dark, with a trace of bloom in the lower midrange; fortunately, the upper midrange is not shouty.
.
Treble;
It is dark and lacks resolution and micro-details, but it is not fatiguing and relatively smooth.
.
Minor issue;
The logo and the lettering on the faceplate fade easily (see photos); I've been gentle with it and stored it in a Moondrop hard carrying case (see photo). I've seen better finish quality in this price range.
.
This is not going to please seasoned audiophiles who like very clean and clinical sounding sets, nor audiophiles who don't like excessive amounts of bass, but for beginners who are looking for a good and loud bass at a super budget price of below 25 dollars, I highly recommend the Hidizs MS-1 Galaxy.

Hidizs MS3 In-Ear monitors
I have two mobile digital players, a FiiO M11 Pro and an Astell & Kern ACRO CA1000T (billed as portable, but possibly less than advertised!) I have, for some time, realised that I require something better than earbuds for mobile use and something smaller than over-ears for use in the study. Hence my search for IEMs.
Many good reports led me to the Hidizs site which looked to give 5 IEM options. As this was going to be a trial, I decided upon the MS3 as being not too expensive, but also not entry level.
Opening the box was a surprise. For IEMs that retailed south of £100, these were very well packaged, with 9 pairs of eartips and three sets of filters.
Milled from aluminium, the main body is solid, well milled (no bad edges) and very light. The cables are well made with terminations that belie expectation at this price point.
Now to the sound test…
The filters do make subtle differences, thankfully they are easy to change, along with the eartips so many combinations can be tested. And yes, the three types of earbuds do also alter the sound signature too.
With a hi res Qobuz stream via the FiiO, I am picking out detail I have never heard before on favourite tracks by artists such as David Bowie, The Blues Pills and Walter Trout. With CD rips (to flac) via the A&K the sound quality increase is not so great, but still there. And the IEMs are so much easier in the study than large headphones.
And than I swapped over to the balanced 4.4mm cables. Channel separation increased and transients snapped quicker.
I am sure I shall be enjoying these for quite a while.
Great sound! Gold, dry, amazing, very detailed sound!
small font on the display, dark screen theme only and absence of Cyrillic in the menu - it's nothing! Sound! That is important! IT'S GREAT!!!
Space, fantastic, revolution - these are the few epithets that come to mind when listening to music from this player/AP80Pro-X. It produces more sounds than listening to music from a phone. I can clearly hear more sounds, instruments that I have never heard before or even knew existed! They are! The player showed them to me!
Orgasm in the ear, a sea of emotions - guaranteed when listening! ))
It sounds dry, cold, amazing, detailed, pedantic... without embellishment! GREAT!!!
If this sound is not enough for you, play with the equalizer! There are more than enough settings in it..
In a word, I recommend it to everyone!
PS I recommend not to be greedy and buy a case for the player! With a case, the player doesn't slide so easily in your pocket!..
Hidizs MS1-Galaxy: Colorful Entry-Level IEM into the World of Hifi
The IEM itself is extremely lightweight and comfortable for long time use without causing pressure to ear.
After testing the Hidizs MS1-Galaxy for some time, it is safe to say that this product is a very good entry-level IEM designed and built for those who are new to the Hi-Fi world without breaking your bank. It's fun and warm V-style tuning will definitely impress the bass head especially for its strong and powerful bass production, however there's some slight bass bloat. Its soundstage is one of the widest among other competitors at this price range. Male vocals are thick, warm, full and overall great, you'll definitely be impressed by how good its mid-bass performs. However for female vocals are thin, hollow and recessed, which Hidizs could improve for the upcoming models. The treble has enough energy to be noticed and instrumentals sound natural, however there are some slight muddiness and clarity issues. At this price range, it lacks airiness which is quite normal yet still acceptable.
Hidizs MS1-Galaxy is a good choice as it is overall a good performing and aesthetical product especially for Hi-Fi beginners without breaking the bank. Consider upgrading to Hidizs higher tiered products such as MS2 or above if you seek for better bass and treble performance. Give it a try and you won't regret it!
S3 Pro Sounds great, compatibility issues with Samsung
Bought directly from Hidizs. Main reason for purchasing S3 was small fork factor and mic input for on the go, which most portable DACs don't have (other manufacturers take note!) Does the S3 Pro sound great? Yes! Tested with Salnotes 2 and Kz 10 Pro, improved sound over Apple USBC, Also UHQ Upscale compatible (if you prefer it). Works flawlessly with my Alienware Windows laptop for audio and mic input while gaming. A few caveats I have noticed, the S3 seems to have intermittent compatibility issues with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: digital crackling/pops while playing audio via YT Music and YT, made worse when using my phone, e.g. browsing the Web, checking other apps etc. I have tested with both UHQ enabled/disabled, problem persists. This does not always happen however, sometimes I get a day of trouble free use, other days I get this issue, even after unplug/plugging. Also 50/50 chance while taking a call my voice is all digitally distorted, sometimes unplug/plugging will fix the issue. I never experienced these issues with Apple USBC, which works flawlessly but does not sound as good. I want to 100% love the device but the compatibility issues with my phone have lowered my score. I hope they have fixed these issues with the upcoming SD2. Hidizs please take note!
Update: Hidizs were quite responsive to me in trying to sort the issue. With further testing I noticed my old Hauwei Mate 9 and Samsung Galaxy A7 Tablet and they both worked flawlessly with the S3 audio wise (I did not test mic compatibility). With further testing the issue with my S21 phone could be when the battery gets a bit lower, possibly finding it harder to power the S3. Just a hunch.
I've experienced various Hidisz product (XO, S9PRO) and I've bought MP145 thru Kickstarter program. The overall experience has been perfect, company behaviour, updating on the process and finally the PRODUCT itself. The MP145 quality is really very good, listening the music is really enjoing me. I strongly raccomend to choose the filters and tap size carefully it does change dramatically final audio quality.
This is the best mp3 player I have ever had and I have many. it does everything you want in a music player it rocks in so many ways. Sound is excellent , bluetooth is excellent and a lot of great features , some I still have not explored yet A+.
