No more IKEA for me
Very disappointed in my most recent visit and decided that's me finished with IKEA.
It was never the best quality but it was cheap and reliable and at least not all made in Asia.
Having visited yesterday I was extremely disappointed that pretty much everything was made in China now. Even items I had bought a few years ago had changed from Europe to Chinese. Out of the 5 items I really wanted I only bought one as it was made in Germany.
It is by far the worst quality IKEA item I have built. There are large defects on the surface and it sits slanted. The online support is a joke and just not worth my time pursuing further.
To add insult to injury they don't stock Daim chocolates any more and the lingonberry juice tastes awful now. May sound petty but IKEA was an experience on top of actually buying furniture but it is a shadow of its former self.
I exhausted myself before I even got into the shop trying to find the trolleys and then work out how to get the trolley to the top floor when the lift only goes up to the first floor, only to have someone steal the trolly from under my nose as I was reading the Ikea user manual on the wall, which made no sense, so i gave up on the trolley and innocently took the 2nd lift to the 2nd floor, I already felt like i was in some cleverly arranged maze. There were no trolleys on the 2nd floor because you dont buy things, you just look at them apparently and follow the glowing arrows on the floor that lead through miles of beautiful mock rooms all the way to the reataurant which sits smuggly like the prize in the middle of the parcel. You have to eat there because you have walked miles and still havent bought anything and at this stage you need sustenance.
You dont buy things on the top floor but instead note down swedish names and numbers of the items you might want to buy if you ever get out, on a scrap of provided paper in the palm of your hand with a measly whip of a pencil, much like the Easter treasure hunt, except for that you always get a free packet of sweets. And I know that now because I asked a lady staff member where to buy a bowl and i was told there would be lots of bowls and everything to buy on the level below. Sadly the one thing i really wanted to buy which was a simple metal bar on which to hang ties in a wardrobe, wasn't on display anywhere. Nor was it on the level below, it was in the warehouse on the level below that apparently amongst hundred of racks of flat packed houses and i was to search on the Internet on a computer provided, to find it, i was to write down the number and then go down to the warehouse and find the area, the isle, the row, the section, the number, the packet and the label, except the staff lady didnt tell me that she just threw out some words that you might understand if you were in the Ikea Family and knew the lingo, she did this with a sort of twitchy curl to her lip that made me feel she might have recent canine ancestry so i backed away carefully and worked it out for myself.
How delightful indeed then, although slightly suspicious, to sit down and enjoy the famous Swedish meatballs, all 12 of them, like tiny gobstoppers, before embarking again on what was now a day shopping rather than a pop, and felt a bit like being at work rather than being on holiday.
In the shopping level below I found Staff were insulting and unhelpful with the assumption that if you dont know then you shouldn't be in there. Well i wouldnt have been in there if id have known, but that was lost on them. I asked a staff member, correction, I opened my mouth to ask a staff member if there were any lids for the tupperware tubs but before more than the first 2 words were politely spoken she literally, honestly, shouted at me 'NO!'and continued to shout, that they were out of stock, all of them, she had none!' Shouted! I didnt bother to ask if i might find out when they would be back in stock or how she even knew i wanted lids, I figured id live longer without them.
At the tills, having followed Alice through the tunnels, finally, the young girl was friendly, perhaps you are designed to leave happy, but she charged me for 4 items when I only bought 3 so that didnt work out for them this time.
I left at last feeing strangely triumphant that i had escaped. I would not pop to Ikea again, its not really a shop you can pop to, nor would I want to, and Ive experienced most of their furniture anyway, falling apart, chip board chips and screws tear out and dont go in again and it all generally sags and dissolves. I shall buy proper furniture made of proper wood sold by proper people in a proper shop without meatballs and from staff with manners and kindliness and it won't need a tupperware lid and there will be no shouting

Post purchase customer service non-existent!
Ordered a (expensive) fridge/freezer, arrived with shelf broken, sent photos immediately, told to get onto Whirlpool who said back to IKEA. Back to IKEA told again to get onto Whirlpool who sent email saying IKEA responsibility and when I sent that back to IKEA they said could not help. I am now left without a shelf in my new fridge/freezer! So annoyed as all my house is IKEA and 6 phone calls and 5 emails a waste of my time too. Never again buying from them!

IKEA SUCK It's not getting any better!!!
It's not getting any better!!!
Arrived around 6:20 today (Fri).
Looking for a mirror but decided to have a meal with family.
Only one side of the serving station open and a long queue. Initially pass the cake area but no plates, not that it mattered much as no cakes either!. Wife found a choice of one on the top shelf so waded through this ridiculous hearded pen system to go and find plate and found the last soup bowl. Found my way through the narrow pen back to my family.
Now we get to service, got it wrong twice. Dished up again and now no loganberry thingy sauce as its now near the till were told. Now at the till and have to ask again. But did manage to move a plastic tray to obtain two coffee cups. FILTHY. This isnt the first time ive brought this up. So around 40ft away there is one pump with a queue. Finally get to the pump area and everyone is trying to split those little paper cups. So now I have my "well handled by the masses" paper cup I find the machine won't give out sauce. Found out afterwards the bag was put in upside down. Whilst waiting i went and filled coffee cup, tried the milk machine, empty. So was milk machine 2 and 3. No4 kindly gave me some milk.
So by the time I get my meal to the dirty table its cold. Suspect it was only luke warm when served to start with. Could my night get any worse? Hell yeah.
We took a pic of the tag fastened to the mirror on the display wall. And went to what we thought was collecting point. Couldn't find it. Put the number in the cust help point and its not for a mirror its curtains.
Read details on card and yes its the wrong label. So back to machine and find it, collect it and head for the till. But your not allowed to escape that easy, oh no. Whilst staring at many isles of checkouts showing Closed, we unwillingly waited 20mins to pay.
If I had the energy, I would ho back and film this chaos but think would need some medical help to help me through.
If I could leave a 0 I would.
Ikea your food rating should be questioned on cleanliness and temperature issues. Never again.
missing item and nobody does not understand the issue
I paid around 100 CHF for home delivery because I cannot collect the items myself. Unfortunately the delivery today was incomplete and damaged.
• The BILLY height extension unit (902.638.60) was not delivered at all.
• The BILLY height extension unit (402.638.53) arrived damaged.
I tried to report this through the IKEA claim page and the chat system, but the system does not allow me to select the missing item and the chat bot does not understand the issue.
This has taken a lot of time and energy and the system makes it very difficult to report a simple delivery problem.
Please arrange:
delivery of the missing item
replacement for the damaged item
Order number: 1591868288
I placed an order 18 days ago that had a £10.00 delivery charge consignment never arrived, telephoned customer services who informed me that it was lost in transit and reordered, second consignment never arrived, customer services informed me it was never re-ordered so did so for a third time with express delivery…you guessed it 4 days later it still has not arrived. What has happened to IKEA ..used to be so efficient.

I left the following response after being denied a price protection claim, completely useless benefit even after IKEA partner tells you it qualifies. Buyer beware…. Never again
Just wanted to plus one in other comments listed on this site. Thanks
Dear IKEA Customer Service,
Thank you for your response regarding my price adjustment request.
I have to say I’m very disappointed with this outcome. At the time of my purchase, your IKEA Kitchen partner specifically advised me that I did not need to worry about order time and that I would be covered under your price protection policy if a promotion arose shortly after. Based on that guidance, I proceeded with the purchase when I did. Otherwise, I would have simply waited for the promotion now being referenced.
As a retail executive myself, I would never put a customer in a position where they rely on guidance from a representative only to have it contradicted later by policy. That disconnect is particularly frustrating here and reflects poorly on the overall customer experience.
Given these circumstances, I would ask that you reconsider this decision as a one-time exception. At minimum, I believe this situation warrants escalation due to the inaccurate information provided at the point of sale.
If this cannot be resolved, I will be leaving appropriate reviews outlining this experience so that others are aware of the inconsistency between in-store guidance and corporate policy.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your reconsideration.

TitleRidiculous service for €2,800 order - Unreasonable "Price Match" obstacles
I am extremely disappointed with IKEA Ireland’s customer service. I placed a large order (#1588147253) totaling €2,808.80, which included over €1,100 of BESTÅ furniture.
One day after my purchase, a BESTÅ promotion started (Save €120 on €600+). Crucially, my furniture was not delivered until 13/03, which was during the promotional period. Despite being an IKEA Family member, my request for a €120 price adjustment was rejected.
The most absurd part? Customer support (Linda) suggested that if I want the discount, I should DISASSEMBLE all the furniture and return it. I paid IKEA €646.80 for professional assembly! Expecting a customer to tear down professionally built furniture just to process a price match is illogical and wasteful.
IKEA confirmed that assembled items can be returned for an E-voucher, so why force the logistical nightmare of a physical return/collection instead of just issuing the credit?
I expected better from a brand that claims to value its "Family" members. This is poor customer retention for a high-spending client.

Contacting IKEA customer service is a complete nightmare, telephone on hold for upto an hour. The after sales service is the worst I've ever experienced in my 80 years. The kitchen had defects when asked for an inspection refused asked to speak to a manager this was refused. Based on the plan of the kitchen and my photographic evidence, they decided replacement splash backs but the other issues should be taken up with their installer who IKEA provided. No fitter has ever arrived. The whole disgusting experience has continued for 12 months, stay clear of IKEA if you are looking to replace a kitchen.

We bought a Bobdin grey kitchen a few…
We bought a Bobdin grey kitchen a few years ago from Ikea and it went together OK and looked good however as time went by the coloured veneer? began peeling on a few drawer fronts, we were annoyed but just bought some replacements and fitted them.
We noticed recently that 4 more drawer front have also started to peel on the corners so once again annoyed set about ordering replacements only to find it is now a discontinued line.
My wife spoke to customer service (actually easier to get to speak to a doctor - at least a 20 min wait on hold period) They suggested that although the range is no longer on sale they have stock for replacements under guarantee and we should submit photos of the damage this we did around 4 times in GIF,Jpeg, and attachment to email all of which were invisible to the Ikeaists and we had to spend days and days on hold trying to sort it out finally they were able to see the pictures of the damage and after a month countless phone calls e mails (and photos) it was decided it was actually fair wear and tear and not a guarantee issue
So here we are unable to obtain replacements either as a guarantee freebie or buying from them (which we would be willing to do) and we are looking at needing to replace every cupboard door, drawer front, and end panel which I guess would cost well over £1500
We did try to leave review on Ikea's review system however it was deleted and instead we received a message urging us to"reach out to the customer service department" these are the people we have already wasted enough of our lives getting nowhere with so instead here we are leaving a review here so that at least it is visible to anyone who is interested

I recently had a very disappointing…
I recently had a very disappointing experience at IKEA Nagavara, that has put me off returning or recommending it.
I purchased a product for ₹18,900. I took the own delivery and to avoid intransit damage I took in the car and surprised to see I received damaged product. Following advice from IKEA customer care, I returned the same day for an exchange. However, the staff, including Sai, refused to acknowledge the purchase or process the exchange. They pointed to a discrepancy in the PI number on the new product I was trying to exchange and repeatedly stated it appeared used, despite me providing exact purchase, delivery, and return timings.
The interaction lasted over 2 hours with no resolution offered—not even a temporary hold of the damaged item on premises or any immediate assistance. Sai mentioned she had no connection to customer care operations and that an investigation was needed, but no refund or replacement was provided. With no other options (as other stores were closed), I ended up buying another one to make sure on the pi number I requested the staff to verify the pi number right infront of them which again appeared to be not matching.
The product quality also disappointed me—it’s not worth ₹18,900 for what seems like basic wood that shouldn’t fail so quickly. Staff even asked if it was bought during a discount sale, which added to the frustration.
I strongly advise against shopping here.

I brought an item back for return to…
I brought an item back for return to the store. I did the quick method, scan the QR code, got me to the return webpage, and generated the return. All good so far! Then I went up to the counter to finish the return. There was NO ONE else waiting to do a return. There were 4 customer service people at the counter. They told me I had to go over to the kiosk, and get in the WAITING LINE??? I can get it when there are a lot of people, but really? When there's maybe one other person?
I went to the kiosk and I had to enter personal information including my MOBILE#. Oh and there's only ONE KIOSK! As soon as I finished, I get a text saying I'm next in line and to go to the counter. What a complete WASTE of MY TIME. Plus why should I have to give them my number? This is just data trolling.
I will say the click and pick up worked well. I ordered online, arrived at the store, checked in, and about 7 min later the guy came out with my order. So much easier than going through the store and checkout.
Why not do returns the same way? Now that would be customer service.

No Delivery No Contact
I ordered 42 items, and my order was split into three deliveries, which was fine. The first two deliveries arrived within a week, as promised. However, the packaging was very poor, and some items arrived broken. I reported this, and the replacement parts were sent quickly.
The problem is that I am still waiting for the third delivery with no update at all.
Order date: 25 February
First two deliveries received: 5 March
Replacement parts received: 6 March
Today is 12 March, and I am still waiting for the last delivery.
It seems the missing items are in stock, because if I place a new order for them now, they could be delivered within a week. So why is my paid order still delayed? Even if there is a problem with stock or shipping, I should at least be informed about the delay.
I would appreciate an update on my shipment as soon as possible.

Completely unethical
Completely unethical. They did not deliver $835 worth of merchandise on an order shipped to my house. For months now, I have followed up to get this refunded. I have chat transcripts from 10 different agents and also spoke to many more on the phone all promising to handle this and get me my refund. They never did. I filed a dispute with my credit card and they submitted false evidence from other refunds I got for completely different returns. I am flabbergasted that such a large company whose products I used to love could be so unethical and steal money from loyal customers. Never again will I shop here. There are serious systemic unlawful practices going on. I may look into legal action, but I'm also so drained by how many hours they've made me fight to get back the money they stole from me.
Shocking customer service. Passed from pillar to post and need to explain everything over and over. Rude on phone. On hold for long periods of time. Call lasted well over an hour.

Very bad quality!! Dont buy anything there!
Just got some new shelfs and tables plates. Very light, not much materials.
Mounted them snd starts using them.
Placed a piece og tape om the edge of the table, some thing you should be able to. When I removed the tape - the “white paint” came off.
After using them - table - it scratches all the time - even “soft” things makes a scratch!
This is too bad quality!!!
The “paint” keep falling of, this was the last time I do buy anything from IKEA.

HORRIBLE STORE IN HUNTSVILLE, AL
This store is getting ONE star only because ZERO stars are not an option. Bottom line is their customer service is none existent. They do not even have a phone line that a customer may call the store at. All calls go to a call center that can only electronically notify the manager of a problem and HE --who has already, just weeks later, resigned his position, chooses not to return calls. The call center, which is the number printed on your receipt, has no phone number to call the local office and will tell you dealing with a problem is like going to McDonalds for a Milkshake, sometimes the Milkshake machine is working and sometimes it is not! I did not go to IKEA looking for Milkshakes. Per corporate office, this store is not set up to issue refunds and any refund has to be handled by phone though their Atlanta office or by waiting weeks for the processing of a paper check. I only wish I had looked at the reviews from around the Country before shopping at IKEA. They have a notoriously LOW Customer Satisfaction Score and many complaints about the inability to get help or to reach resolutions. The only reason I got even to the point of finding out about the refund policy was because I found a email for the CEO's office and sent a message to them----and a staffer called me back.
BUYER BEWARE! My opinion is that this is a Company to stay far, far away from. They are not worth the headaches of dealing with them.
