While I really want to give a four-star review, I'm having a hard time doing so.
The Why: Out of the three pairs of pants that I tried - slate grey linen cozumel and riviera pant in various sizes - none fit appropriately.
For starters, the sizing table was not very accurate. The first pair was about three sizes too small (cozumel). The second (M -riviera) was fine in waist and length, but upon bending over, there was no chance that these would have lasted a day. The last pair (L - riviera) was about three times the size in the legs and waist area. Of course, this was upsetting as I thought that I followed the sizing chart appropriately and these pants were just absolutely huge. I'm 6' tall and 185 lbs. It shouldn't be a guessing game with a $100 pair of pants.
The positives...all this happened within a few weeks of a wedding and time was of the essence. The first order arrived a few days later than expected. The second was shipped right away and arrived within 24 hours. While some reviews may mention a difficult time with customer service, I can't say that I had the same experience.
I also ordered the Blue Bayou Batik and the fit and feel is great.
Had any of the pants fit...easy four stars with the customer service.
Tip...don't order under haste and maybe call the shop to discuss sizing. While I did that originally, I must not have asked the right question and never recovered.

We are sorry to hear that neither of the two pant styles that you ordered from us fit to your liking, as both these styles are extremely popular with our customers, and we've been selling them for many years now.
Regarding our Linen Cozumel Pants, I see that you ordered our size 32. At 6 ft and 185 lbs, this size would certainly be too small. By our estimation, size 36 would have been the appropriate size to order. We can assure that all of our traditional, button & fly closure pant styles are made following standard US pant sizing specs, consistent with the vast majority of US brands.
From our prior correspondence, we understand that you were misguided by the listed hip measurements in our size charts, and for that we apologize. These additional specs were recently included (along with thigh measurements) in order to convey to our customers the actual finished garment measurements of each size, so that customers with unusually big thighs and glutes (like some athletes and bodybuilders) can know whether or not they need to size up in order to fit into the pants. Nevertheless, it is assumed that customers will order the standard pant waist size that they normally wear. That said, if you do normally buy size 32 pants from a particular brand, we maintain that their sizing is not in line with standard US pant sizing specs. We are aware of brands who's size 34s measure 40 inches around the waist. Go figure.
As for our loose-fitting, drawstring closure, Linen Riviera Pants, they differ vastly from traditional dress pants. As stated in our size chart:
These loose-fitting pants have a simple draw-string closure. There is no button or fly. Therefore, the actual waist measurements of the pants are 4-6 inches larger than the waist sizes they are specified to fit. This is to allow the pants to easily fit over the hips when putting on. Cinch down the draw-string to a comfortable fit and tie. Then distribute the gathered fabric evenly around your waist. If you are on the upper end of the size range, we recommend sizing up.
We do agree with you that there is a significant jump between sizes of our Linen Riviera Pants. And unfortunately you happened to fall right between sizes. The drawstring can be cinched down to fit, but of course, there is a limit to that.
Since this is the style you prefer we'd love to custom-make you a pair according to your body measurements. You can choose from nearly 60 color choice in pure linen, and we'd waive the $20 customization fee for you!
If that doesn't appeal to you, we urge you to try our sizes 34 and 36 in any of our various linen pant styles. There is no doubt that we carry linen pants that would fit you properly. FYI, we can custom-make any of our garments to fit tall individuals - including any of our shirt styles in nearly 60 color options in pure linen! Through our easy custom order service, you either input all request body measurements, or order standard sizing with custom specifications.
Nice that they have long inseam lengths available, but pants that were supposed to be loose fitting are not, especially for someone with muscular legs. Light color linen is extremely see-through. Return process is stupid--after going through being asked did I want an exchange, they say "place a new order for item you want to exchange." Really??
Island Importers is a scam company, it makes money on returns. They have a horrible quality product and horrible return policy. If you return product that is not matching their description on picture and size on their website,otherwise , that is completely their fault they still substructing return charges. I am filing complain to dispute transaction. And complain to BBB and consumer protection agency of US.
This is my second pair of the White Linen Riviera Pant, I ordered a pair for my son last year, and just ordered the same pair for my husband. We are doing family pictures in Anna Maria Island, Florida next month, I will come back and post pics. My husband is 6’3” and my son is 6’7”, so I love the inseam options. And the style is modern.

Honestly, I bought these same linen pants in beige for my wedding in 2012. Have loved them since. I needed Black linen pants for a party & I found the same pants online & yes…. Same quality all these years later. Upon arrival yes my black linen pants were different by being Stiff but the directions stated to wash/dry for that soft feel and it worked perfectly. Love my new purchase!

very easy to work with. Had to return to small twice and do a special order. I Bought the linen pants to my son for daughter’s wedding. They look very nice!
Super soft material, vibrant colors, all are excellent. If I have any suggestions it would be that they have a ‘tall’ version that would not only cover the torso but past the waist, as well. Otherwise loving them all, and will definitely be getting more!
