Very good

Very good communication, very quick. Everything came back smelling nice, neatly folded and left with the hotel reception.

Damaged my favourite pants and no replies

My hotel in Taipei recommended Laundry Town to me for laundry services. All seems well from booking to pick up and return as the process was very straightforward and easy. However, I later realised that one of my pants was damaged - the tip of the drawstring of my favourite joggers were ripped off with pieces of cotton just hanging out. I am surprised that it was just folded and returned to me without any heads up. And they just blue ticked me when I reached out on WhatsApp. I believe there are a lot of cheaper alternatives for laundry services in Taipei. Find one which you can find Google Reviews on. Avoid laundry town. Edit: Dear Saul, are you sure you want to call me untruthful? I can share our full conversation on WhatsApp as well without cropping out any parts. I was going to suck it up since your business obviously isn't going to do anything to make up your wrongs (maybe if you're not sure, you could reply to ask how much should you compensate instead of just blue ticking me and downplaying the damages here?). But I won't tolerate any insults to my character.

Reply from Laundry Town2025-02-22

Hi Marc. Sorry to hear about this and that you did not have a positive experience with our service. One of the tips of the drawstring on his jogger pants came off. I tried explaining to Marc that this is classic wear and tear, but he did not agree. There is one point I would like to address that he was not truthful about though. We did reply to him on WhatsApp. He messaged us in the afternoon and we replied to him in the same afternoon. He even replied to our reply stating that he "definitely expect some form of compensation for this", in his last message, before blocking us. It's classic wear and tear which isn't covered, but even if it was, I am not sure how much he was expecting for what is a relatively minor issue on the tip of one side of a drawstring. I have attached links to photos proving that we did reply to him on WhatsApp and showing the tip of the drawstring in question. Proof of reply on WhatsApp: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Yb1_a4CvKqP7W_YR5ZEI_BbGsWvH4FwR/view?usp=drive_link Photo of tip of drawstring: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RjTgXNUSpO3Odgzrpe1dSuLn8gJmBJCA/view?usp=drive_link Overall, I understand he is not happy that some wear and tear occurred. Nobody is, but that is a normal and natural part of the laundering process. Kindly, Saul

Excellent but be clear with pricing

Used the KL branch around 4 times now and the collection and drop off has been good. The laundry is well packaged on return and smells Fresh. The only negative comment I have is the extra charges. I’ve had several random charges on my card of approx 6MYR that should be explained as I always book well above the kg weight of my laundry.

Reply from Laundry Town2025-01-17

Hi Mike. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience using our service, with the community. We appreciate the constructive feedback. To add some clarity, after each order we send a final invoice/receipt which lists the actual weight of your clothes (as most everyone just enters an estimate during checkout). Any extra charge is based on the clothes being heavier than the estimate entered during checkout. If you are not getting any of the invoices, please check your spambox. If still nothing, please let us know and we can always provide you with a copy. Let me know (via email or WhatsApp) if you have any questions or if you are still unsure about any of the charges on any of your invoices. ~Saul

Exceptional service and cheap

I was hesitant at first because I have never used this sort of service before. I tried for a couple of hours looking in Beijing for coin laundry and other physical laundry stores, they all charge by item count. I took the plunge and decided to give laundry town a go. They picked up the items from the hotel (I left them with the concierge) and returned them the next day (I paid for their next day service). I did get nervous when the concierge said there were no items left for me. As it turns out the concierge did not label my item clearly for me to pick up so it sat in the corner for a few hours while I kept checking with them. We had about 8.5kg of washing, we ended up saving lots of money. The hotel laundry pricing is not worth it. Not sure why there are negative reviews, their service and pricing is great. We are going to Tokyo next year, will use them again.

Hi Michael. Thank you very much for the thorough review and taking the time to share your experience using our service, with the community. We agree. The hotel laundry prices are not worth it. Sometimes their cleaning prices can be nearly as much as buying new/inexpensive clothes (or at least a significant percentage of it). Glad you found our service to be useful/helpful. ~Saul

Great laundry service

I read some of the negative reviews and feel the need to (legitimately) tip the scales. I used Laundry Town in Taipei. It was straightforward, my enquiries were answered promptly and coherently. My laundry was cleaned superbly and returned ahead of schedule I will use the service again without hesitation and heartily recommend.

Hi H, and thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. It is much appreciated as sometimes it's harder to get satisfied customers to leave reviews. I hope you enjoyed your time in Taipei. ~Saul

Irresponsible, defensive, unhelpful

Have been using their services for a while - when things go fine they generally provide standard service as every other company would, but when things go wrong they become a huge pain to deal with. Therefore would NOT recommend using them. In particular 3 reasons why they are a pain, after the experience of them losing my clothes after a wash: 1. Extremely avoidant + slow response - took 2+ business days to reply to my initial messages (and I had to chase through multiple channels to push for a response), and afterwards they still replied slowly and I had to follow up multiple times with long messages for them to revert with a brief response (I sometimes message after work in evening times so didn't expect instant reaction at all, have given enough buffer time for them to respond the next day / afternoon). Have also stressed everytime that I am only staying in Taipei for a few days with limited time to resolve the issue, and it almost seems like they were just avoiding reply and trying to wait it out until I leave 2. Unhelpful + non-cooperative - I have tried and proposed multiple ways to search for my missing clothes (e.g., checking with delivery and laundromat), but LaundryTown behaves passively (only waited for other customers to report if my clothes mixed into their laundry), even my hotel has been more helpful to check security footage and search through all possible areas. I have also been quite compromising when resorting to ask for compensation (e.g., only cheaper brand replacements so that I at least have something to wear, flexible in amount / format of compensation such as laundry credits), but they dismissed everything and refused to help with my situation in any way at all 3. Irresponsible + defensive attitude - regardless of what I said (e.g., trying to understand the situation, solving the problem, asking for compensation), they always respond briefly along the lines of "we simply cannot take liability", refused to admit any fault and did not appear to be even remotely apologetic, ultimately just ignorant of any losses and just pushing the blame back to my end (also quite consistent with the attitude they displayed when responding to other customers' negative reviews) I was sharing this to the hotels I stayed at so they can warn their other customers, and they actually provided alternative laundry shops (both chain / mom-and-pop shops) that are way more responsible and polite to deal with. Would suggest anyone with laundry service need to also seek your hotel's guidance (also happy to share recommendations privately), don't go to LaundryTown just because they're the first ad to show up on Google.

Hi Yau. And thank you for using our service a number of times in the past. The main issue here was with a claim. Yau claimed we lost something of hers. I explained to her that a laundry shop cannot just assume responsibility for a claim. There has to be some sort of due process, some sort of proof, or evidence. Even after her hotel staff contacted us and we provided them with CCTV footage showing that no items were misplaced, it was still insisted that items were missing and that we should compensate her for it. The bulk of our customer relationship with Yau was pleasant so it's unfortunate this issue arose, but she has at least been civil in her complaints, not lashing out or being a Karen about it, so for that, I thank her. Kindly, Saul

Timely service

Laundry was picked up and returned on time in Shanghai! We stayed at the Renaissance Yu Garden and had a whole bunch of laundry. Saved a great deal from having to do laundry at the hotel!

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service lost my clothing as communication was non-existent after receiving confirmation of order. Tried several times to contact throughout the day to no avail. They finally returned my messages the day I'm due to fly out, so now without my clothing. Do Not Use this service.

Reply from Laundry Town2024-03-17

*Unethical review* Long story short: John selected the wrong pickup day (he selected March 13th as his pickup day and requested next day by 10pm delivery). He left his hotel well before the turnaround time he selected (delivery on March 14th by 10pm and he left around 8am that morning). He later admitted to us that he meant to select March 12th as the pickup day. Either way, he clearly made a mistake and somehow it's our fault for not getting out of bed to answer his multiple late night calls around 10pm and rush around the city in the middle of the night in order to make up for his error. Furthermore, his clothes are not lost. They are at the hotel and can easily be sent to him, upon request. He's just embellishing the story, evermore. TIred of dealing with Karens, Saul

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Had a horrible experience whereby they claimed to have dropped my laundry back at the hotel but provided no information (when, to who, a photo of how it was packaged, etc) and then complained when I was calling after hours. Now I have lost over $500 worth of clothing thanks to their horrific service when all they had to do was provide some basic communication. Horrible company to deal with. Just don't use them!

Reply from Laundry Town2024-03-02

Dishonest review. Troy's clothes were delivered early and on time. His hotel concierge at Le Meridien Shanghai lost track of them though, temporarily. I explained this to him and even told him where he could find the clothes, on the storage rack of the concierge, but he didn't feel like checking for whatever reason and left without his clothes. Meanwhile, they were sitting on the storage rack the whole time, in plain sight. His clothes were not lost. Hotel will send them to him. He messaged us during nonworking hours around 9 and 10pm and became upset that we didn't reply right away. Even after realizing the hotel made the error (he was berating us and accusing us of losing his clothes and demanding an insurance claim from us, etc.), he was too proud to admit it, let alone apologize, and doubled down/continued berating us. We did everything we were supposed to do. Maybe try checking the storage rack/closets next time. Or show some discontent towards the people who actually misplaced your clothes (the hotel concierge). Tired of dealing with Karens, Saul

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Zero customer service and they didn't pick up my order or communicate anything. If you need laundry done. DO NOT USE Edit to respond: Order pickup was set for the day prior to when they would close (2/7). Only after many attempts for reach them, the day it was suppose to be delivered did they finally respond on WeChat (Zero customer service in the sense that there is no proactive measures on their part). If anyone doubts me, just look for a phone number to contact them (there isn’t one). Just look at the rude and aggressive nature of their response. I still have not even received a refund. Absolute joke of a company

Hello everyone. So David conveniently left out one extremely important fact: he requested a delivery during Spring Festival which is a national holiday and obviously the biggest holiday of the year in Taiwan. Note the date of this review. It is the first day of the Spring Festival. There is a large red banner across the front of our website indicating we are closed and everyone across the entire country already knows most all business are closed on that day, but he still requested a delivery on that day. You can't request a delivery on a day when a business is closed, especially when that day is the single biggest holiday of the year. Everyone knows most businesses are closed that day, and for many days following. Yes unfortunately we are human and need to take days off, including the biggest holiday of the year. We communicated with David numerous times via WeChat so the claim of zero customer service is also not true. For David to act as if he had no error here, or like it was just any regular day (and not the biggest national holiday of the year) is simply disingenuous.

Super service! Above and beyond

We were staying at the Four Seasons and desperately needed some clean clothes at this point in our vacation. I mistakenly opted for next day at noon instead of same day which would have meant we would have missed our flight. They were kind enough to deliver by 8 am which allowed us to keep our schedule. Great service!!!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. They returned my clothes unwashed and with more wrinkles than when I gave it to them. Additionally, I was missing a very expensive pair or jeans and instead they included jeans that weren't mine. When I contacted them and told them that I received jeans that weren't mine they argued with me and said that isn't possible. Be careful, they don't actually wash your clothing. They spray febreeze on them, fold them, then return and claim they washed and dried.

Laundry service in Shanghai 2023

In Shanghai, with a stack of laundry and the hotel wants a small fortune. Found laundrytown online and was skeptical, but this was a great service. The website is clear and accurate instructions. Left my laundry with concierge and they delivered it ahead of schedule. Excellent! laundry town thankyou.

Reply from Laundry Town2023-10-09

Hi Andy, and thanks a ton for taking the time to leave us a review. Much appreciated. I know what you mean by a small fortune that's pretty much the exact reason we started this laundry service. Those hotel prices are out of control and can easily be over 100 USD to wash a single load of laundry...if you have a large suitcase full of clothes, forget it. ~Saul
