Dishonest and incompetent

We took my son's car in for an oil change which of course leads to the brakes needing to be fixed. First the technician broke a piece while installing so we had to wait for delivery of another part, $1200 later. My son drove the car to work the next day and as soon as he went over 45 mph the car's steering wheel started shaking, so we called Meineke and took it back to them to look at. Now they say a $1200 front end suspension repair, no thanks, we took it down the street to another shop. The second shop looked at it, some lug nuts loose on the front and rotor set screws were placed incorrectly, the other three wheels were over torqued as a result of Meineke's work, $169 bill later. Then the next week the car was leaking oil, took it to the second mechanic again, resulting in the oil drain plug being hand tightened causing it to leak, another $169 charge to me. I have gone back to Meineke and asked only to be reimbursed for the extra money that I am out due to their mistakes. They have refused and told me I should have brought it back to them, umm yeah I did the first time and you tried to charge my $1200 to fix something that didn't need to be done. Do NOT use this place to get any car repairs done.

SCAMMERS!! BUYER BEWARE.

My experience with Meineke in Greenwood was one of the worst I've ever had with an auto repair shop. I was quoted one thing, then presented with charges for work I never authorized. When I questioned it, I was told my vehicle would not be released until I paid. No customer should ever be put in that position. Even worse, my vehicle left the shop with issues that were not present when I dropped it off. Instead of taking responsibility, my concerns were dismissed. After this experience, I no longer had any confidence that honesty or customer service were priorities. I also dealt with Brad, and my interactions with him left me with even less confidence in the business. Rather than addressing legitimate concerns professionally, I felt my concerns were brushed aside instead of being resolved. If you're considering bringing your vehicle here, document everything. Get written estimates. Get written authorization requirements. Take photos of your vehicle before handing over the keys. I wish I had done all of that. There are too many reputable independent shops to risk an experience like the one I had. I won't be returning

I was very impressed with the service I received at this facility. Eric was very friendly, helpful, and professional. He made the experience pleasant, and I am very glad that I chose this place for my tire installation. I would definitely recommend their service to others.

Had to replace my AC unit in the hottest weather ever

I had to replace my AC unit in the hottest weather we have had and Keith and the staff at the college drive location make it a very pleasant experience. They are both professional and personable and help in every way that they can. I have used them for at least 4 years and I will not take my cars to anyone else. If you want a good experience during the worst time take it to Meineke on College.

Delayed Vehicle Repairs and Request for Immediate Return of Vehicle

I dropped my car off over three weeks ago and regret choosing this location. I've called multiple times for updates and have gotten nothing but delays and conflicting information. The manager promised my car would be ready on Wednesday, but it wasn't. When I showed up the next day, the issues we discussed still hadn't been addressed. At this point, I just want my car back, fixed or not. I have lost confidence in this shop's ability to complete the repairs and communicate honestly with customers. This has been one of the most frustrating automotive service experiences I've ever had.

Meineke cares about you

I can’t say enough good things about Meineke on State St in Boise. I came in just hoping someone could identify a loud rattle under my car, and the general manager, Charlie, went above and beyond — he got under the car himself, found and fixed the rattle, and even fixed my horn that wouldn’t shut off. He didn’t charge me a dime. In a world where it’s easy to get nickel-and-dimed for every little thing, this kind of honest, generous service is rare and so appreciated. Charlie and this team have earned a customer for life. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for people who actually care about the people they serve.

Dishonest and prejudiced

I went there today ,07/23/26, and had a 12:00 appointment with oil change coupon for $49 synthetic oil change and the guy there told me he couldn’t change my oil because it’s for synthetic oil and my Volkswagen Passat doesn’t use synthetic oil; I was definitely confused because my 2002 Passat is a turbo and I’ve always used synthetic oil in it, he could change my oil for $99. I knew he didn’t want to honor the coupon for me being (black), and he was middle eastern or close to there ethnicity, I’m 70 years old and have experienced this before . Anyway I went across the street from meineke car center and had my oil change for $80. I have coupon and appointment text message saved in messages.

WARNING

WARNING: Extreme parts markup and hidden costs for loyal customers!I have been a loyal customer at this Meineke location (#0591) for over a year, trusting them with multiple services. However, after auditing my past invoices, I discovered that they engage in predatory and abusive pricing practices regarding parts and fluids. On a clutch replacement service (RO #141735), they charged me $153.58 for just 2 bottles of manual transmission fluid (which costs $20–$30 retail) and $1,438.60 for a LuK clutch kit and flywheel that retails everywhere for around $400–$500. They literally tripled the price of basic components, overcharging me by more than $1,000 on parts alone. It is deeply disappointing that a returning customer gets taken advantage of this way. Their mechanics might do the job, but management will drain your wallet with hidden markups. Check your invoices carefully and shop around at local independent shops before giving them your money. I will not be returning.

This place is a joke

This place is a joke! I went in for an oil change and was told that I needed a tune-up and 3 tires, so I agreed to have the work done and to buy 4 new tires. I use my car to travel for my job; I did not have to travel a distance after the work was completed (expressway) two weeks after work was done, I was headed out of town for vacation/business and had to turn around due to my car shaking uncontrollable went back to the shop and was told that the tires needed to be balanced, left had to return 3 more times stating that the tire balancing machine was not working correctly, tech sent me to the shop on Belmont, tires was balance again, same thing happens again, set an appointment for Saturday morning at 8:00am, no one had look at my car for hours and when I went to ask why I was told that I need struts, This place is very unprofessional it's a daycare as well, tech's daughter was sitting in the shop and receptionist son walking around the lobby and shop. I was told that they could not move forward with any repairs without by the lead techs approval I have called back serval times was told that tech is not there and until this day no call back from Meineke.

Don’t bother scheduling an appointment

Don’t bother scheduling an appointment, you will just sit in line with all the people who just pull in last minute and they always have one lane closed so it takes even longer

Honest Service

I was able to drop off my vehicle overnight for the morning and Steve quickly communicated what was an immediate necessity vs. what are some things that I should be looking at taking care of in the near future. There was no intent to upsell me anything and he answered all of my questions about the recommendations. Each time I visit this location, I am greeted by friendly staff and I feel secure to ask questions. That means a lot coming from someone who is not knowledgable about cars and repairs. Thank you for becoming my "go to" place for car service and repairs!

Appointments don't count.

I work a graveyard shift. I scheduled an oil change for the earliest time possible. 8 AM. I'm there on time. After waiting for Angel to finish trying to up sale someone at the counter he tells me it will be 2 and a half hours until they can do the oil change. The reason. Up to 6 people can have the same appointment time. WHAT!!???. Why even bother scheduling appointments if they don't mean anything? The slogan is "Doing car care right" Too bad honesty and customer service aren't important also.

Never using them again

Never using them again, horrible experience. The manager was rude and condescending when you try to ask any questions. They replaced my transmission and axels. The car still bucks at about 23 miles per hour to shift gears. My car now has a grinding, growling sound coming from the driver side when it did not before. The manager says the ball bearings are damaged and he would be happy to fix it but it would be more money of course. Everyday they called asking for more money saying something else was wrong with the car. He stated it must have been damaged before the Axel was changed. When I pointed out they did sound like before and ask how he know they were damaged prior did he inspect them feel or hear it before the Axel change? He said no he hadn't looked at them before or after the Axel change but the sound meant they were damaged and it clearly had to be before because he doesn't make mistakes. My brakes now squeal when they didn't before as well. Trying to get corporate to call you back after making a complaint is a joke. They advised 72 hours, two weeks later still can't get them to call me back.

dont come here if you dont like being ripped off

I was honestly surprised by the atmosphere at this location. During my free inspection, I asked the receptionist what they had noticed so far, and instead of answering directly, he responded with, "Do you plan on keeping this car for long?" in a cocky, dismissive tone before telling me it was going to need a lot of work. I brought my car in because it was pulling to the left, making a clicking noise from the left rear, and I specifically mentioned that my parking brake had become extremely loose. The parking brake concern was completely ignored. Instead, I was told that both rear CV axles were "shot." The problem with that diagnosis is that one of the rear axles had been replaced less than a month earlier. I explained this to them, but they doubled down and insisted both axles needed replacement. I later inspected the other axle myself and found no tears, grease leaks, or visible damage that would support that conclusion. I understand this was a free inspection, but that doesn't excuse giving customers what appears to be an inaccurate diagnosis involving repairs that could cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. A free inspection should still be honest and professional. I came in looking for help diagnosing a specific issue. Instead, I left feeling like my actual concerns were ignored and that I was being steered toward unnecessary repairs. Based on my experience, I would recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any major work from this location.
