I cannot use the 7 days free trial or contact the company because everything I do flashes to an advert for 2 advanced hosting plans which I do not want but cannot remove. Dell windows 10 fed up with YouTube ads and want a better system but need to test it before paying
Title: Excellent professional platform with great value for money Rating: ★★★★★ Review: As a professional documentary filmmaker and media producer at DRL Services BV, I have been using Vimeo extensively as my primary video platform and I am genuinely impressed by the overall quality it delivers. The video playback quality is consistently excellent, with smooth streaming and no intrusive ads, which is crucial for delivering a premium viewing experience to my audience. Vimeo is clearly designed with creators and businesses in mind. The platform offers powerful privacy controls, domain‑level embedding, and a highly customizable player that allows me to integrate videos seamlessly into my own branding and websites. Features like chapters, detailed analytics, call‑to‑action tools, and SEO‑friendly options make Vimeo much more than simple hosting – it is a complete professional video solution. I currently use Vimeo to host and present a multi‑chapter documentary series about the Shroud of Turin, as well as other multimedia projects produced by DRL Services BV. The reliability of the platform, combined with the flexibility in organizing and presenting content, has been essential for my work, client deliveries, and audience engagement. From a pricing perspective, Vimeo offers a lot of value for money. The different plans provide generous storage and bandwidth, along with professional features that would be significantly more expensive with many competing platforms. For serious creators, filmmakers, and businesses who need a robust, ad‑free and professional video platform, I can highly recommend Vimeo without hesitation.
The review page has been deprecated in favor of an unworkable and useless alternative. With this change, Vimeo has become much less useful and less valuable for content creators.
price for renewal went up 40x (from $140 to $5400/year) . Crazy work. Had to rework our site to link elsewhere.
The song and lyrics strike nerves in my mind and heart - band's musicianship is intense
The directions on VIMEO for the FREE account are deceiving. When you create the free account, there is no option to stop it. Then you are charged the full $300 for the year, which monthly should cost $250. It is a designed marketing rip off. The software works pretty good, but even when you get ripped off into the yearly membership, because there is no way (including chat which they say is there, but is not) to turn off the auto renewal or even to take your credit card off. They have clearly designed this to rip a hole in customer trust. I don't care if it works, there are better more trustworthy companies that know how to treat customers fairly. I have screenshots of their directions on all the things stated and gone to the screens which are supposed to have these options on them, but don't. Somebody needs a course in business ethics and technical writing at VIMEO. Run, do not try it.
Horrible company! The do NOT respond to customer emails, the phone number rings busy all the time. The force payment and if you want to downgrade you have to cancel your plan. NOT IF YOU WANT TO UPGRADE that's easy. Do Not Use Vimeo there are tons of other platforms to use that have ethics.
Vimeo increased rates by 1500% and acted like this was normal. Then, I noticed that all my embed presets had been reset to allow downloading, and I cannot find a universal way to turn off the new Vimeo AI option on the embed. This is a nightmare for intellectual property management.
Very stable and reliable live streaming experience.
I'm being charged a crazy amount for my subscription, and while vimeo used to be cool, it feels obsolete now.
make it more about vimeo staff picks again. go back to the roots!!!
Reported an issue w/ my account over 2 weeks ago. It's still not resolved.
Removing the ability to search for work by other contributors is a killer for me and for Vimeo. Why can I actively search Youtube but not Vimeo? You guys need to fix this
I had been a Vimeo customer for over five years and, until recently, I was genuinely happy with the platform. The video quality, player, and overall experience were solid. Unfortunately, my opinion changed completely because of how the company handled my account. One day I received a notice that my account would be suspended because my monthly bandwidth had exceeded 2 TB. The surprising part is that this limit is not clearly disclosed when you purchase the annual plan. The pricing page talks about storage, but there is no transparent indication that exceeding a certain bandwidth threshold could result in your account being effectively forced onto a completely different pricing model. Even more frustrating, my usage was only slightly above the limit, typically around 2.1-2.2 TB in the months they referred to. A Vimeo sales representative contacted me and informed me that I would now need to upgrade to a custom plan costing around $6,000 per year. For comparison, I had been paying approximately $300 per year. A 20x price increase because my bandwidth exceeded an undisclosed threshold by roughly 10% seemed completely unreasonable. I explained that I was happy to reduce my bandwidth going forward and stay within the 2 TB limit if that was the requirement. I had no problem adapting my usage once I understood the restriction. However, I was told that this was no longer an option. Since I had exceeded the threshold for several months, I would either have to accept the dramatically more expensive plan or risk losing access to my account. What disappointed me most was not the existence of a limit itself, but the way it was handled. After years as a loyal customer, I felt I was being forced into an impossible choice: pay an enormous amount more or risk losing access to years of uploaded content that my business depended on. To make matters worse, when I pushed back on the proposed pricing, I was asked how much I would be willing to pay instead. That conversation felt more like a negotiation at a street market than a discussion with a professional SaaS company. I understand that companies need sustainable pricing models, and I would have respected a transparent bandwidth policy from the beginning. But changing the rules after years of using the service, offering no reasonable middle ground, and using the possibility of account suspension as leverage destroyed my trust completely. As a result, I migrated all of my content to another video hosting platform. It costs me less than half of what I was paying Vimeo, while offering an even better overall experience. After five years as a customer, this was an incredibly disappointing ending. Based on my experience, I can no longer recommend Vimeo. If your business depends on long-term video hosting, be aware that pricing and account policies may change in ways that could have a major impact on your operations.
