Hidden Price Increases and Poor Customer Service Experience

Wix steadily and subtly increased the price of my subscription without me realising, sending only one email per year which was unfortunately for me going into my spam folder. Without asking for my permission, they consistently increased the price of the products I was paying for, moving me onto higher tier products which charged me much more money than my initial subscription. Again, at no point did they ask if I wanted any of these products, they just sent one email per year announcing that I just being moved (which again, I didn't see). When trying to contact them about this and ask for a refund of some of the money back, it was incredibly hard to contact an actual customer representative, and I had to work through several layers of AI chatbots to even get an email address. I doubt I will receive a refund of any of the considerable amount of money they charged me for a tiny website with almost no usage. If you are going to do business with Wix, this is a warning that you should set alerts or reminders or they will likely take full advantage of you.

The UI is intuitive as a designer…

The UI is intuitive as a designer myself. I this portfolio website is something I out alot of blood, sweat, and tears into. It is thanks to Wix that I have a solid client base today.

So slow terrible AI

After emptying caches and using different browsers it was taking ages to edit anything over a minute. Support and Ai chat were usless. Nothing worked for me. Lag and I was only using one picture

This has got to be the worst customer…

This has got to be the worst customer experience I have ever had! I spent 10 hours (!) on chat with them, where they refused to aknowledge its a problem on THEIR end! I got them on the phone a few days later as they never ever sent me a confirmation email about trying to solve it (which turned out to come a week later with a tutorial that literally showed everything I did with their staff). Now they finally admitted its them - and then here a week later, they dont reply to my email but instead send me a copy of the first one. I will really recommend you to NOT use WIX, they waste your precious time!

WIX is and has been nothing but GREAT…

WIX is and has been nothing but GREAT for my goals and journey. I am an herbalist who LOVES to share information, to spread the word about plant medicine, to communicate to all the hope of taking your health back into your own hands and healing yourself. WIX has allowed me to set up a site with ease, to monitor it with ease, and to expand it with ease! WIX does so much of the “heavy lifting” for you that I end up doing things and creating things that I had only dreamed of. It’s well worth the price, let me tell ya. I’ve tried many of the other popular website building sites-apps and they dont even compare to WIX.

Very disappointing experience with Wix

Very disappointing experience with Wix. My subscription was automatically renewed without me knowingly selecting or agreeing to auto-renewal, and I contacted them immediately after noticing the charge. Their customer service has been slow and hopeless. I was constantly put on hold during the online chat, passed around and given unclear information by staff who didn’t seem to understand Wix’s own cancellation and refund policies. Trying to request a refund for an unintended renewal should be simple and transparent. Instead, the entire process has been unnecessarily complicated, time-consuming and incredibly frustrating.

Deceptive "free" advertising – not actually free for a real website

I am highly disappointed with Wix's marketing. They heavily advertise their platform as a "free website builder," but this is incredibly misleading. While you can technically build a site without paying, it is completely useless for any real professional or personal use.The free version forces highly visible, unprofessional Wix ads onto your page and restricts you to a messy, unreadable Wix subdomain. If you want a basic necessity—like connecting your own custom domain name so people can actually find your business—you are forced to upgrade to a paid monthly subscription.Calling the product "free" is deceptive when essential features required to run an actual website are locked behind a paywall. Save your time and look elsewhere if you are expecting a truly free web hosting solution.

Wix is the only web site development tool I have ever used and have no desire to ever switch. It's easy to use if a goon like me can figure it out. Keep up the great work!

Dishonest terrible company

My subscription does renew till Aug 22. They have not only been upgrading me and charging me more without my knowledge but when I canceled they said we can charge your card 20 days before your renewal and you still can’t get your money back. They then tell you that you need to wait 45 days to get a refund but you most likely won’t. So dishonest and a terrible company

its nothing but a money generator I have some knowledge of website code and want to update the head tags which should be simple, but no you have to buy a separate app within the WIX environment to let you insert custom code I am sorry decided to use WIX as I paid up front once my contract with wix has come to an end I will be moving my site because every time you need to do anything they want more money !!!!!!

FREE, EASY, SOLID Website ..

For years our not-for-profit military reunion org used Blogger for an online presence. It was awkward, clunky, hard to use, and not especially user friendly. We put up with it for years because it was free. In searching for a better alternative this year, I came across WIX and at first thought this can't be FREE .. but it was and IS. In a couple of sessions, I had our basic website built and we fine tuned it over the next month. The features and ease of use are unbelievable. Everything is so easy to do, and there is always the AI help that comes with it. We LOVE it, especially for small, non-profits .. and it scales easily, expands effortlessly.
