Poplin STOLE $130+ dollars from me and refuses to refund me
Poplin stole 130 dollars from me. Admitted to me that the representative who took the order not only did not wash any of my clothes, they even damaged them. Refused to refund me the money I spent, my hand earned money despite acknowledging the order and service was not done and that they "profusely apologize". I paid for the most expensive insurance and they will not compensate me and told me they would only give me credits to use. So you're telling me the only resolution you're offering after you STOLE from me and acknowledged you did, is offer me the option to continue to use your services after you ruined over 300 dollars of my clothes and also refused to compensate me? There's permanent marker sharpie marks, bleach drips on my shorts, cat hair still all over my clothes and zero evidence of any lint or dryer residue so I am 1000% they were never ever cleaned. I also tipped this person almost 40 dollars in total so thats around $175 dollars that they refuse to return and around $250-300 in damaged clothing that they won't compensate me for even though they fully acknowledge and apologize for the bad service and the damage. It's insane. I've had to go through my bank to get the charged refunded and thankfully not only are they going to remove the last charge, they are going to file a federal report on my behalf due to poor business ethics that are heavily discouraged by any business who sells a "service" to others and includes assurances like money back guarantees, additional fees and charges for insurance that they are not standing behind, etc. This company is great when things go smooth but once they don't, they put all of the blame and responsibility on the customer and do not stand behind their work. Let me ask you this, if a plumber came to your house and got fecal matter and urine all over your home, used old piping from wherever and didnt actually snake your drain like you had paid them for, how would you feel if you confronted them, they AGREED with you that it was not acceptable and it should be made right and their resolution is to give you a "free" repair or fixture towards your NEXT plumbing needs. Do you think that would be acceptable? No. This is theft, clear and simple. Illegal. Do not support this terrible business! They do not care about their customers and they are cheap, garbage human beings. I wish nothing but the WORST for this business and hope eventually they go under for illegal business practices because god knows they are doing so now. You cannot admit to a customer that they did not receive the services they paid for and they tell them YOU get to decide how to refund them. I paid with money on my debit card, that is how I should be compensated. I do not want your free "rewash" credits. Yes, credits. Meaning the money I spent on this that I could have spent elsewhere on someone who could actually wash and dry my clothes, I can now only spend on having the service that WASNT done the first time, done a second time. That is NOT how that works. Services rendered were not what I paid for. I will get my money back the easy way or the hard way and my bank has already agreed to flag the transaction and refund me because I forwarded to them all the emails from the Poplin Concierge admitting that they did not provide the services that I paid for. As soon as they offered a full "credit", it becomes a charge I can fully dispute and have refunded. Up yours you POS MFers!

Inept, incompetent, strongarm THUGS ripped me off and stole from me, a local contractor
Absolutely the WORST trash company to ever exist. I was hired as a painting contractor by an absolutely horrible human being by the name of Gary Hall. After some discussion, he offered his services through Thryve to build me a website. He gave me some rough estimates of what the cost would be and I agreed to give him a LARGE discount to stain and seal his front and rear concrete pads, his entire back and front fence and safety gates, his porch chairs/furniture and his front door, as well as a few other small ticket items.
Three quarters of the way into the project he told me didn't want to pay the extra amount to seal the concrete driveway and back patio pad. I gave him a quote for AT COST on materials, providing receipts for everything used, and gave him my labor at a 40% markdown per hour, which mind you, is practically my entire profit margin once you factor in paint and stain, all the materials, labor costs to pay my guys, etc etc. I warned him that not sealing a freshly stained concrete driveway would have severe ramifications.
Not even 24 hours later, his punk ass silver spoon fed child drove his huge H2 hummer on the driveway and it pulled up the stain, it made bad tire marks, it was NOT good. I had to hand sand it down and touch it up, which I didn't charge a cent to do. I come to find out he paid some handyman to seal it because he realized what a massive F up he had made. This is down the road after we had parted ways because of what happened with his company, which I will now explain in detail:
The first red flag when Thryve was building my website was that it took FOUR people to do it. I was given a 1st draft by a guy named Andrew, that Gary referred to as "extremely talented". His rough draft of my website looked like he got drunk, lost a bet and had to make it in MS paint. Different sized fonts, stock getty images of what looked to be a 60 year old burnout father fingerpainting in his living room after losing his kids and being divorced by his wife, pictures of people painting in denim jeans with not a SPOT of paint on them, rolling out of a bag with a piece of plastic under it for "protection".
The thought of someone doing this and thinking "wow, this looks awesome" seems like an impossibility because it looked horrible. Spelling errors every few sentences, they even used pictures from another painting contractors ACTUAL WEBSITE and crudely pasted them into my website. Unbelievable.
So I tell Gary, YO wtf is going on here? Is this a professional? Why would you hire someone who has no idea what he's doing?" Gary immediately apologizes profusely, laughing, "haha wow he sure screwed this up!" Flaming his own representatives work worse than I had. But.....he reviewed it before sending it to me, so.....? It made no sense. Rinse and repeat this exact situation 3 more times. By the time I was done pulling all of my hair out, it had been escalated to the "lead design team executive officer". Fancy way of saying "the only dude who we hired that is actually somewhat qualified". Finally, I was given something that looked presentable, and it did. It looked okay, I was happy. Until the price came.
They had charged me upwards of $1,000 just to BUILD the website. I thought: Okay, WHATEVER. I'm this far in, I just want to get it over and done with. 3 weeks later I get a call saying my card declined for my "monthly subscription"....wait....what?
"But Gary, we agreed on a discounted ONE TIME PRICE to build me a website." They tried to tell me on top of the website cost, I would have to pay 500 a month to use their proprietary site they built, basically strong arming me.
And the $500, what all did it entail? They sold it as an all in one package. Website management, social media uploads, coupons and more! Right? Wrong. They did the same thing as the website, posted stock images, ludicrously phoney "posts" on my Facebook business page that were just so cardboard and fake it made my eyes BLEED, saying stupid nonsense they found off google searches, posting pictures of work that WAS NOT MINE, posting people painting that WERE NOT ME. I was DISGUSTED. I felt ROBBED. I talked at length with every single higher up in the company until I came to the sad realization that the entire company was run by incompetent thieving "yes men" who had NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE DOING. They threatened me, told me that I needed to take down my website if I wasn't going to pay them 500 f'ing dollars a MONTH for NOOOTHING. These people are disgusting, inept GANGSTERS. I gave Gary Hall over $1,500 off cost for all the work I did and ended up with ZERO.
