We booked a holiday to Bhutan about 10 months ago with MAMIE who was so very , very helpful and patient with us for months of questions as we live in Ireland an not easy to get to Bhutan. Unfortunately Mamie left which we were sad about but Ethan took over our case and he was brilliant too . He was so very helpful and came back immediately every time to us and got our visas for us . We got safely to Bhutan and met our guide PALDEN WANGCHUK and our driver TSHERING . They were amazing , so kind and gentle and helpful and so polite and both had very good English which helped a lot . The driving was NOT easy going up the mountains in Bhutan beacuse of small landslides and bad roads but Tshering was a brilliant driver ( Im a great driver but could not have done it ) .We went for the Buddist festivals which were amazing and Palden was so nice he even called me a week later to show me a festival live from Bhutan !. We would highly recommend this tour company and these 2 amazing beautiful people from Bhutan if you are going there . The country is so clean , the air so fresh , the scenery so stunning and natural and so lucky to see it now . We would highly recommend these 2 great guides and you will have a unforgetable holiday . WARNING ; We had to come back through NEW DELHI ...........we were locked in an Uber taxi and demanded 20 times the agreed fair and the driver was driving off with me in the car only for by the luck of God another taxi man saw me screaming and came to the rescue .DO NOT GO THROUGH INDIA to Bhutan ............it is not safe , very dangerous and the Indian police will do NOTHING to help you . I just completed my nearly 3 weeks touring the 5 Stans. Steven was an excellent tour operator and all his local guides were very competent. Steven did not personally accompany us, but he was always available to answer questions and give immediate advice. We saw so much in our time. It was a whirlwind because we covered a lot of fascinating sites in our time. The hotels were excellent. I had already been to 2 of the Stans before, in 2019, but this trip was far better. It is indescribable how different they all are, and I wouldn't have skipped any of them. One has to realize the Silk Road is no longer, but the ruins and grandeur of the past still linger in small pockets. The mountains and lakes we saw were icing on the cake. Food was interesting and a mix of Russian, Asian, and all tasty (except the horsemeat), especially all the fresh salads, plov, and dried fruits and nuts in all the bazaars.
Crossing land borders provided a new layer of adventure, especially getting into Turkmenistan. Flexibility was the word of the day, as we spent 5 hours at the border because there were lots of people crossing, getting their required visas.
Steven made sure we understood we had to have $105 newish US dollars for the visa, when other tour agencies did not tell their clients that. 3 had to borrow from us Americans because they had no US money.
I would highly recommend Asian Odyssey, and my 4 other traveling companions agree. I highly recommend and if it gives any credence to my appraisal, Tajikistan was my 145th independent country, so I understand travel well. Thank you, Steven, for all your detail oriented work. Karin

The Mysterious Tibet Group Tour was an unforgettable experience! Travelling 16 days through the wonderfull beauty of Tibet, walking the 3-day Kora around Mt. Kailash, traversing the Drolma la pass, enjoying the sunrise at Mt. Everest Basecamp, watching the Himalayan peaks at the Gawula pass and getting immersed in Tibetan Buddhism by visiting numerous impressive monasteries.
The whole trip was very well organised and at a great price/quality ratio.

I contacted Asia Odyssey Travel about a custom trip in China and worked with Mandy who provided me with a number of options. We just had our Zhangjiajie Trip for 5nights and 5days. We joined a small group of 6. Travel Agent Coy Ma assisted me with all of my queries since July. He was very helpful. He even got us a welcome cake when we reached our hotel upon checking in. We opted for English speaking guide, and our tour guide Jackson was very helpful, she definitely made our trip extra special. She knows her job well and we didn’t had any issues during our entire trip. She delivered and educated us about everything in Zhangjiajie. The trip to Feng Huang Ancient Town made it even more special when we had Jackson just for ourselves overnight 🥰

The arrangement for our 7 days Zhangjiajie tour including Furong and Fenghuang and the bookings for the train transportation to and fro from Guangzhou was fantastically handled by Wendy Deng. She was fast in responding to our enquires from start to end. She was patient and no questions are too minor for her to respond.
The tour guide, Kevin, was good and knowledgeable. Driver Chang drove safely for some of the long trips between the towns.

We had a wonderful trip of 11 days in Bhutan. The contact with rhe organisation was smooth. We had wonderfull driver and guide, who made our trip unforgettable. Whenever we wanted a change in our program ( within the itinerary) they made it possible for us. We saw very nice festivals, temples, beautiful nature and learned a lot about Budhism. They even helped us crossing the border to India

My experience started with Mandy: she was my agent, very nice, kind and helpful, helped me understand the best tour according to my desires and answered quickly to my questions. The tour was great, well planned and well done. We were a little group, maybe we were lucky but we have fun and joy. The only one observation, I wished more historical information by guides…but perfection doesn’t exist!
