I ordered a skirt from this company which I had been looking for for some time and I was so excited to find it on Dark in Closet. It arrived and unfortunately it just did not look right on me, it was nice quality and arrived as ordered but it just didn't suit my shape. I read the return/refund policy before ordering to make sure I could return it if it didn't work out and it stated that as long as I contacted them within 7 days of receiving my order, I could return for a full refund as they "wanted their customers to be happy". What a load of garbage. I emailed them on the day it arrived and I realised it wasn't going to work for me. They requested photos of the item with the security tags still intact on the skirt. So I sent them 3 or 4 photos as requested with the tags still attached, asking for an RA and the address to send it back to. Then I get another response asking if it was too big or too small. I answered stating (as I had in my initial email) that it was neither, it just didn't suit me and could I please have the info required to return it as per their return policy. So then I get yet another email telling me that it would have to be shipped to China and the shipping cost was very high and there would probably be taxes and that it would be much better for me to keep it and sell it or give it to a friend. WTF? I responded again, saying I did not want to sell it or give it away, I wanted to return it for a refund as per their return policy stated clearly on their website. Again, another response from them. "You need to check the cost for shipping to China, it will be very expensive and not worth it for you" So I then just said, forget it. This will be my final communication with you, clearly your refund policy is a complete lie and I will be leaving honest reviews of my rubbish experience with them anywhere that people are likely to look before spending (and potentially losing) their hard earned money. The last email I received from them said that I could pick another item from their site and they would give me a discount and I "wouldn't even have to send back the original item". Seriously?! So I would be stuck with a skirt I just paid full price for but would never wear, and they expected me to place ANOTHER order with them because they were going to give me a discount? Not bloody likely. It really is a shame because the clothes they sell are lovely, they're just let down abysmally by bad customer service and dodgy drop-shipping. If you have any doubt in your mind whatsoever that what you order may require exchange or refund, then avoid this company like the plague.

Initially there was an issue with a product received however after discussing options via email the issue was solved promptly and to my satisfaction. Responses via email are incredibly fast and the team are very kind and understanding. I have purchased from this company 2 or 3 times now and would be very happy shopping with them again. Thank you 🖤

I placed an order, and a few days later I was informed the item was out of stock. I was asked if I wanted a replacement, and I clearly stated that I did not and wanted a refund. The next day, I was offered a different pair of pants that cost more. I again stated that I only wanted a refund. Two days later, I was contacted yet again and asked if I would accept store credit. By this point, I was tired of repeating myself. I requested a refund multiple times, yet the company continued trying to offer alternatives instead of simply processing it. This was a frustrating experience that should have been resolved after my first request. If an item is out of stock and a customer asks for a refund, the refund should be processed without requiring multiple follow-ups. Based on this experience, I will not be ordering from this company again.

Also appreciated the amount of info they provide on the product pages that tell you the material of items and certain aspects they have to them as well as a helpful measurement guide. I ordered a prom dress from DarkinCloset for my daughter's junior prom. I was nervous after placing the order because I read some posts on Reddit about scams or poor quality. I am thrilled to say that I didn't have that experience. I had amazing service, relatively quick shipping, and the dress is absolutely stunning--it looks exactly like the pictures. I contacted customer service 2 days after I placed the order to ask when the dress might ship because it was in a processing state. They quickly replied and said that they anticipated shipping within a week to 10 days, and they held to that. The dress shipped and arrived less than 2 weeks from the day I placed the order. My daughter opened the box and ran to her room to try it on. The dress is absolutely phenomenal. It has a corset and a separate tulle skirt. The tulle skirt is incredibly full. I thought she'd need a hoop under it, but she doesn't--it's beautifully poofy on its own and very twirly. The corset is the highlight though. It's amazingly high quality with elegant touches like feathers and flowers and it fits my daughter like a glove. They have so many beautiful dresses and outfits and their vibe fits my daughter's style very well, so this was a first purchase, but it won't be our last. I highly recommend DarkinCloset if you're looking for unique and unusual goth prom dresses that are high quality at a very fair price. My daughter is thrilled to have something that will stand out at her prom.

I was hesitant to order my daughter's prom dress online for several reasons. But the Victorian-goth inspired dress was exactly what she wanted, and we couldn't find anything close to it locally. I was worried that A) It wouldn't arrive in time; and B) that it wouldn't fit. However, the item arrived within two and a half weeks from the time of ordering it, and I was able to track its movement from various distribution centers. My daughter is petite and around a size 4. We ordered a size small. I am around a size 6; on the day it arrived, I tried on the dress before she got home just to make sure it would be feasible. It was only slightly tight on me, and it fits my daughter perfectly--the stretchy lace-up bodice provides some flexibility as well. The dress reaches all the way to the floor (with heels) so it just works out! My daughter is very pleased with the purchase and excited to stand out at her senior prom :)
