Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained that customer support was completely unhelpful, making it extremely difficult to reach a real person when urgent problems arose. Reviewers also reported frustrating delivery delays, unreliable ride bookings, and unexpected extra fees and charges added by drivers during trips.
Though some reviewers were not happy with major issues, a few other people felt that the application worked well for ordering food and booking rides during their travels. Consumers and passengers noted that certain drivers offered reliable transport, transparent pricing, and pleasant assistance throughout their journeys.
No insurance claim for internationals Grab Indonesia
Specifically reviewing the Grab service in Indonesia. AVOID paying for the safety option. I tried to claim insurance after getting into an accident using the Grab Bike however they only pay for claims if you are an Indonesian citizen!!! Just get the normal grab, paying extra for safety is BS. Also when paying for Safety extra make sure the grab bike gives you a helmet!
I want to begin by clarifying that this review is not related to the app development or UI/UX of Grab, but rather feedback regarding their recent Grab-Food delivery services. Lately, I have encountered numerous incidents where Grab riders initiate order cancellations without valid reasons. This has become an ongoing issue, and I've lost count of the occurrences.
The main reason cited for these cancellations is that the delivery cannot be made directly to my apartment unit. However, our condominium does not have any restrictions on deliveries, and Grab riders are welcome to use the elevator to reach the designated floor. The insistence on meeting outside or within the premises is unnecessary and inconvenient.
Both for personal use and through my corporate partnership, I have relied on Grab's services. However, their riders have become increasingly choosy or lazy in performing their job. While I would understand such restrictions during the height of the pandemic, this is not the case in our condominium at present.
I have reported this concern to Grab's customer service team, and while they acknowledge the issue and assure me it shouldn't happen, it continues to occur. This ongoing situation is highly frustrating, and it reflects poorly on the competence and work ethic of their riders.
I genuinely hope that Grab takes immediate action to rectify this problem. Their riders need to display professionalism, competence, and a willingness to fulfill their delivery responsibilities. I believe addressing these issues would greatly improve the overall customer experience.
yeah, sorry but the app is OK until you loose access. Getting your account back is painful. What's the point of a recovery email when you can't use it to recover your account?
Loved the selection of the cars over the years of using the app but unfortunately I learned that they feel free to steal your money!!!
The actual convenience of being able to get a ride when needed sounds like a good idea? But being ripped off doesn’t!!!!
When you select to pay by cash you pay the agreed fair price but if you unfortunately connect this service to your account they keep charging you as they feel suitable….
I chose not to carry cash, especially when travelling overseas so I had been punished by these people on every occasion.
How is it legal? You are presented one price. You think you committed to it and hope that this is the price both parties agreed to but no, this is not a case with Grab!?!?
Never happened with Uber.
I am very active person In grab because I am using it in my daily life . But the services is very worst not only the drivers sometime not having cleanlinesses . But recently I have facing an issue with this is grab service where the driver used to send text to cancel the booking by giving reason as it’s far and the price is not acceptable. The price or charges nothing to do with customer where sometime we were charge double of normal rate . Still we have to use it and why driver have to claim the price is not acceptable I can’t come there for Xprice . In one time sometime I have no choice then to cancel the booking for 3 times because the grab driver doesn’t want to come or not show up at all even after few hours . As customer i will receive penalty or suspension for continues cancellation of booking which I have experienced .
These days Grab drivers a lot of them don’t open the car boots anymore or help to load your luggages at the airport . At the start of the year, price has gone up by another $3 for my usual rides to the airport . And as long as it’s raining , regardless of time , the surge price comes into effect.
Yes, timings on when the drivers arr arriving are not accurate enough and cancellation by drivers are happening too often.
LTA MUST do something about all these go complaints .
Overall Grab is very good. Most of the time Grab available. There is no reason to dislike Grab services. I feel safer with Grab. The fare is reasonable and you know your fare before you booked. Sometime high fare during peak hour but still affordable and convenient. You can book a conventional metered taxi on Grab apps too. I've been driven by OKU Grab driver last month and that's even great.
I've been using the grab app for taxis over the past few months and I've had no issues. Some of the drivers are better than others, but prices are usually reasonable. I've not needed to contact customer services so can't comment on that.
Grab cs is like playing russian roulette. Some are plain lazy and try to close your case without even listening to the customer but some are nice and try to empathize and help the customer. I commend sumathi for good cs . He was patient and listened to my issue and salvaged it nicely but I have to say Yuvaneswaran has poor customer service. Not even keen to investigate the matter when there was stone in my food which I ingested and even closed the case without doing anything. Gave generic cut and paste replies. Truly appalling.
In Asia, specifically Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, we experienced drivers not showing up and claiming to have arrived, then three minutes expires and you are charged a wait fee and they cancel. In one case, we had to locate the driver on the app map. He was 200 yards away on a different street. We were minutes away from paying full fare and cancel fee
Just called for a Grab, then a Grab was announced, but we were waiting and waiting. Called the driver, very unfriendly when we asked were he is standing. He told us we must be wrong. No - we aren't.
Now Grab says that on the next ride we'll have to pay RM 3 more for the driver has been waiting for 5 minutes.
That's not the way business should be done :-(
Just another company that pretends to be a super app
It's just another app that tries so hard to be a super app. There's still so much lacking and many things to dislike:
- They charge a convenience fee when you order food.
- You get spammed by push notifications when you order stuff.
- Content is far from moderated, killing the experience.
- Chat feature is very bad & slow, like it was made in the 90s.
- They keep recommending you to merchants that are located > 7 km away.
- Search experience is still very poor, in some cases you can't sort the merchants based on distance.
- Can't split the payment.
- They keep suggesting vouchers that you can't use, what's the point of showing them when you don't have the payment methods?
I've used grab for 3 years for taxi and food, most of the time I have no issues. Recently I had an issue with Subway, where I paid for extra toppings but did not get them in my food. I ordered in the evening, and reported to Grab the next day. Grab declined my request as they have an 8-hour policy, any report later than 8 hours of receiving food, you will not get a chance of refund.
It is a genuine claim as I sent proofs of my food, and only asked for refund of the paid toppings, not the entire order. Grab declined with a repetitive response that 8 hour has passed. This policy isn't fair for the customer and only reflects their intention to eliminate as many claims as possible, rather than solving customer issues.
I will still continue to use Grab, purely because it offers convenience. Not to mention, they monopolised the delivery in my country. But this experience left a bad taste.
