Acorns is amazing

Acorns is amazing! I tell everyone about it because of how financially helpful it is. I can forget about the account and by the next time i remember, my account shows growth! Whatever the backend portfolio management is doing, they do an amazing job especially compared to traditional marking savings accounts such as a 401k. My expected growth at the rate i am saving shows a significantly higher expected growth by retirement than the 401k packages from work, which blew my mind! Acorns ultimately makes me feel like i can be confident about my financial stability especially by the age of retirement 40 years or so down the road. My savings through Acorns has helped me with down payments for cars as well as about 4 years ahead early pay off for a car note. This account has also allowed me to save for a rainy day/ when my main accounts are low, so my reoccurring deposits into my Acorn debit account has saved me on many occasions especially during these hard economic times. Highly recommend, just be sure have a strong savings strategy through combinations of Acorns features and make the most of it!

I had NEVER considered investing - no big money in my life. A son introduced me to ACORNS and pennies began to add up better than filling any jar with change... even accumulated interest. Customer service has been responsive and queries answered to my satisfaction. I highly recommend this for anyone who shops with their card - great for us little guys.

I absolutely love Acorns! It’s a no-brainer for anyone who uses a credit card or bank card! I love that I don’t have to think about it. Since I’m using the card anyway, it’s a great way to start saving!

The app is relatively user friendly but graphs are a joke

The app is relatively user friendly making it an helpful tool for investing without spending too much time. But the graphs are a complete joke. Come on- showing a drawing of a line that has nothing to do with the performance of your portfolio. At lease give the user an option to have a proper view of the portfolio performance over time using real numbers and showing it per item and for the entire portfolio

Gold Plan: Be Aware

I signed up for the gold plan for the 3% IRA match, thinking 3% match would net real money after 30+ years of compounding. The match was only for a year, which is fair, however after a year I didn’t see any reason to keep paying $12/month to use what was free or $1/month (can’t remember the baseline account). Nowhere within the terms did it say you had to keep a gold member, just that the account had to stay active for at least 4 years for the match to be yours. Well, after a year, I went back to the basic level plan and they revoked the 3% match. Talking to customer service, they couldn’t point me to where it says that I agreed to keep the gold plan for 4 years but that’s just why they revoked the match. They also wouldn’t refund the $12/month I paid for this service either, effectively costing me $144 plus the revoked match that I could have gotten elsewhere. I’ve been with acorns for 10 years and used multiple accounts with them but after this, I’m closing everything and rolling over to another provider.
