Scam
Deleted my profile and canceled service. Didn’t get billed for an entire month and then randomly got billed just yesterday. zero customer service and no way to log in now to cancel since I already canceled and deleted profile. All I can do is contact bank about fraud.
Terrible communication
Terrible communication. They would not continue with my application without even explaining their actions. And since I have a clean background, it was mystifying to me.
Care guide parading as TrustedHouseSitters
Care guide showcased itself as Trusted House and Pet Sitters with the same logo and name as the REAL TrustedHouseSitters site. Day 1, I was scammed by someone wanting my information, and when I wrote them about this and asked for a refund, they said no, you signed the agreement, and it's good until you cancel. I was MISLED into purchasing, as I thought this was the Trusted House Sitters website. BEWARE.

This is an actual scam website. Im SO frustrated with this company and how they are going about doing this. There is an overpriced subscription for everything on every single step. If I need to hire someone ONCE why do I need to pay 40$/month for it?! Then it proceeds to ask me 5 more questions on signing up for other subscriptions with them! 20$/month for background checks on the people you hire?! As if the 40$ wasn't enough just to TALK to someone. Oh but I just can't start talking to them after I coughed up the 40$, now I have to upload my ID???? WHY?! I JUST PAID 40?! Im already stressed out on finding help for my hospice grandmother, this is just ridiculous!
Very disappointing customer service.
Very disappointing customer service. I purchased a Care.com membership simply because I wanted to try the platform and see if it was a good fit for me. Within just a few hours, I realized I didn’t like the service, canceled my membership the same day, and immediately contacted customer support to request a refund. Initially, someone responded and told me they would proceed with my request. I replied with the information they asked for, and after that, communication basically stopped. No follow-up, no clear answer, and no resolution. At this point, I honestly don’t expect to get my money back anymore. I’m leaving this review because I want my experience documented. If a customer cancels within hours of purchasing a service and reaches out immediately, the very least I would expect is clear communication and a proper response from customer support. The lack of follow-up has been extremely frustrating and has left me with a very negative impression of Care.com. Based on my experience, I would not recommend paying for a membership unless you are completely sure you want to keep it.
My opinion as a new user
I like that care.com connects caregivers with prospective clients. I don’t like that my profile doesn’t show up when someone else searches for a sitter in my zip code. My price list doesn’t show on my profile page (I had to type it into my About Me section). New users should receive brief tutorial on how to navigate booking process (ie phone numbers aren’t public, marking “hired” doesn’t confirm bookings, payments not handled in app). Austin is a big town - show us where jobs are located on a map so we can determine if it meets our criteria. Require clients show profile photos (like sitters do). Too many spam jobs. Allow caregivers to customize their profile URL link. Send reminder notifications when someone doesn’t respond to direct messages within 24 hours (I had someone who claimed she couldn’t message me after she clicked on ‘hired’ which makes no sense). Implement parameters to intercept fake job postings.
Deceptive Practices
Job browsing is free, but you must pay for a premium subscription to message or hire candidates. There billing practices are deceptive and it is impossible to get a refund. They offer no real support and they require personal data that can lead to identity theft from unsafe data storage.

Horrid monetization.
The pricing to use this service is highly deceptive. If I am wanting to hire someone I can browse and post a job, but to even reply to someone applying to my job I need a costly subscription. These pricing policies are not disclosed clearly when signing up for a "free" account. The person looking to hire should not have to pay, The people looking to be hired should be paying this cost as an advertising expense. Terrible monetization policy.
This company does it right!
This company does it right! I posted my ad for help with my elderly mother and I received a dozen responses in just a day. That allowed me to contact each one to select the best fit for the job. The person I selected worked out great. I can highly recommend Care for your needs!

Its a massive scam where they trick you into subscribing only to not even show you the individuals who messaged and its content. The teachers the messaged were out of my price range and they used to this scam me out of 40$

This application has given me daily…
This application has given me daily sustenance to continue surviving. I have met many people, I have helped raise some children and I have been able to assist the most vulnerable for health reasons. Pd. (Would love to have the feature to delete names) I have so many on my search list.
