This trip was for my 10 year old granddaughter and she was delighted with the experience. It was very educational, especially the Ellis Island experience.

Booking was made through the official website without any problems. Customer service was quick to answer our questions. The site is wonderful to see. Access to the crown is easy and straightforward. The site is clean, and access to the museum is free.

Took the Alcatraz cruise to the island. Great day! The trip is very educational. You can walk at leisure or opt in for a guided tour. Guided tours do have a bit more information but if you do the leisure tour, reading all the displays will add to your knowledge. More than just a prison. Ferry over is great and perfect photo opps.

EDIT**: Have downgraded this because I was asked to call a specific number to book, and was given the US number, despite the fact the UK has it's own number that calls through to the same people (confirmed by office staff!) so a 12 minute phone call that I ONLY HAD TO MAKE BECAUSE THEIR SYSTEM WASN'T WORKING, to try and spend $1700 dollars with them, has cost me an additional £50 - outrageous that their customer service knew I was calling from the UK but didn't tell me there was a UK number until it was too late! Really disappointed with the booking experience of this! We're spending over £1000 on one of their experiences for our honeymoon, for what was supposed to be a magical trip, but due to an accounting issue their side, have been back and forth calling with the team for the best part of 2-3 weeks. If you pay with an Amex - it's likely not going to work until you keep calling back (apparently they've only just started offering it, so we've been made to feel like free guinea pigs while they work it all out) The accounting error meant our card wasn't being accepted, but on our 4th call to them in 3 weeks, we were told we could just raise a ticket and have it checked manually by their team, and then they'd call us to confirm and take payment within a day. Why wasn't this offered right away?! We're three weeks out from our wedding and thought this would be a fun trip to book, but it's caused us so much stress as we're trying to put the finishing touches on our wedding, and plan for our honeymoon there after, and nice experiences on new years are booking up to full like crazy. The staff have all been friendly, but seems crazy we've been messed about so much for something totally beyond our control. And to not have been offered even a comp or minor upgrade (or even just some of their own in-platform points) for this inconvinience just seems like such lack-lustre customer care. Hopefully the experience itself proves a better experience than trying to book it! Sincerely, A quite miffed couple

The tour is amazing, the view is beautiful, it's totally worth it. I think they need to improve the comfort for tourists waiting for the boat. It was very hot and there was no covered area, both on the way there and back.

My two daughters and I really enjoyed the experience offered by Alcatraz city cruises. We took the boat over to Alcatraz Island. Boarding and on boarding was super easy. There was plenty of room on the boat. Which means they don’t overcrowd it. The staff were very friendly. It was well worth the money we paid for the tickets.

I was scammed. I was tricked into thinking my legit ticket wouldnt work as i was a few minutes late. He said there would not be any more ferries for a few hours, unless I upgraded. I was tricked into buying an 'upgrade', and he told me that I would automatically get a refund within a few days. Which is not true, as it would not be the same company. I specifically said we wanted to go to Ellis Island, and I was given a ticket that did not include that. I was also overcharged. I very quickly realised the scam and was able to use my original ticket, which was still valid. There is a lot more detail I could go into, but I have illustrated my point. The result was that I took out a case against Revolut and won. If there were the option to give zero, I would. This company should be investigated for taking advantage of tourists.

The times to get on and off the shuttles are very long, so we lose a lot of time especially when we only have a few days to visit this beautiful city.
