Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Multiple transfers, as the person you call "does not have the tools to assist". Poor phone connection and disconnections during the call. Please boycott this company.

The channels so far are little different than Xfinity, TiVo, etc. Recordings are as good. Big bias on news though. The combo channels are heavy on MAGA nonsense with little balanced news channels. There is no way to group news channels together ; they are scattered all over the guide. Not being able to choose what PBS station to see is painful as local PBS station is dismal.
Direct TV took out Alexa integration about a year ago. Put it back! Guide doesn't display if a program is a rerun or new. They need to fix that.
The only reason I left one star is because it made it! Never ever go with Direct TV, they are nothing but lying cheaters that charge way too much, I have been with them since early 2001 and they have got so bad that I am having internet put in an I will be streaming tv, Direct TV charges outrageous prices there customer service is terrible and they don’t care if you leave or not, I have been paying over 200 a month for tv and I said that’s enough called them they would not come down in fact they went up. So please go with anyone except Direct Tv they are crooked as a snake. I can’t believe they are still in business. They can kiss my a——-. They are that horrible. And I never leave bad reviews but these people deserve it.
I think direct is a lying joke. Nothing. They say they back up. They raise prices. They don't stand behind anything. They make appointments and don't show up. They have an excuse for everything I've been with DirecTV for a very long time when they first started out. They're great back in the '90s but seems like they can't keep their word. They can't even get employees from the United States. They have to hire from overseas where you can't understand someone. So yeah I think DirecTV is a joke anymore !!
Directv is the worst system on this planet. They lie to you about your bill, they punish you when you disconnect from their wifi. Directv sux. I do not, I will never recommend DIRECTV to anyone, I wouldnt recommend directv to my worst enemy. Directv you should be ashamed for taking advantage of the elderly, you have did that numerous times to one person I know. You tell them their bill will be this amount and it will take two billing cycles for the new amount to appear. Then that amount never shows. Directv should be labeled criminals for stealing money from people. As soon as I can find another tv service better than directv I will be canceling my subscription.
If I could give this company zero stars, I would. I judge a business by its customer service and fair pricing, and DIRECTV failed on both counts. I originally signed up for DIRECTV through AT&T. Two months ago, I canceled my AT&T service, believing that my DIRECTV service would be canceled as well. At no point during that process did anyone inform me that I needed to contact DIRECTV separately to cancel. As a result, I continued to be billed for a service I believed had already been canceled. When I explained the situation and requested a refund, DIRECTV refused. I don’t believe this is fair or customer-friendly. A company should ensure customers clearly understand the cancellation process, especially when services are bundled through another provider. Because of this experience, I will never use DIRECTV again, nor would I recommend their service to others
DirecTV has no customer service support in the United States. If you call their customer service number you will be directed to another country, most likely India. These people don't have a clue. If you have a problem they try to make it look like it's your fault or the fault of another provider. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Tyrone, the service representative was very polite and efficient in fixing our connection issues. We appreciate the great customer service he provided us. Also, the customer service representative we spoke to help us with our issue and settings up our appointment was really informative and helpful.
Gabby from Tech support was patient and stayed on the line with me until my service was up and running. I appreciate his great customer service. I didn't have to have someone to come out to help me connect. Thank you for your help..
Directv programming is adequate, but the customer service / billing are the worst. This company and its employees do not care about its customers. I encourage all that are reading this to find another provider. Let’s destroy Directv, financially, of course. Let’s show them who has the power. Let’s stop financing their Cartel style of business. Let’s demand T.V. Programming with courtesy attached.
Since FIOS just discontinued cable cards, and my NINE TIVO units are now garbage, I had to find a comparable digital TV source. The closest I could get to my very comprehensive and expensive FIOS cable package was either THEIR digital package ($40/mo more) or DirectTV. The latter had TERRIBLE REVIEWS about the stability of the app and, even though it was half the price of FIOS, I had to go with FIOS. An undependable, glitchy access is a no go for a TV buff with the best hardware (8k 83”) and many sets, all obviously smarter than the app. Until they get this up to at least a four-star rating they will lose a lot of potential business. Paramount+ had similar problems and fixed it. Why can’t DirecTV?
Direct TV is playing with their customers service & money. I was told ABC’s channel & contract was no more with Direct TV but Direct TV would try and resolve the matter with ABC. I decided to cancel my service until they resolve the matter. The matter was resolved before I could get off the phone with the representative. I’m still canceling because the way they are deceiving customers. I shouldn’t have to call to cancel my service in order for Direct TV to restore my ABC channel. This corporate Shit is real people they give less than a dam about you just pay, while Direct TV raise the bill constantly and give customers less channels. Oh, don’t forget they said if we stay we get a $60 credit over 3 years 😂😂😂😂😂😂 don’t be that fool for Direct TV. I couldn’t believe this was happening.
Was charged for not returning equipment. Luckily I had my receipt, which after 40 days I normally would get rid of. If I had done that I would have lost over $100.00 and an easy 100+ for direct tv. Canceled subscription due to increase in rate with no prior notification. $50.00 increase, service definitely not worth it. The only plus was the person in customer service who acknowledged the equipment was indeed returned and promptly issued a credit to me.
Cancelled my streaming service and was bombarded with calls from them to get me to re-connect my service even though I was clear that I was moving to a community that provided TV and internet service as part of amenity fees. The worst part was after returning my equipment, two months later I was billed for not returning my equipment. Their terms state you will be billed if you don’t return equip after 21 days so I had disposed of the Fed Ex tracking numbers after a month or so. Worst streaming/ cable company I ever done business with.
My experience with DirecTV has been extremely disappointing. Their pricing practices are, in my opinion, misleading. I enrolled based on a quoted monthly rate, only to see my bill increase after just a few months with little or no meaningful notice. The monthly charges continued to creep up over time, and within a year I was paying nearly double what I originally signed up for. When I contacted customer service, I was told the promotional rate had expired and that I should have called to renew it. That expectation was never made clear when I enrolled. Customer service made an already frustrating situation even worse. Reaching a representative was incredibly difficult, with repeated long hold times. On several occasions, an agent answered with a simple "hello" and then left me waiting in silence for 15–20 minutes before saying anything else, making me wonder whether anyone was actually handling the call. Whether intentional or not, it felt like customers were being kept on the line in the hope they would simply give up. I also spent an hour on the phone on Christmas Eve, only to be told it was too late because my credit card had already been charged. To make matters worse, after I canceled my service, DirecTV attempted to charge me an additional $130 for a final month. When that payment did not go through because my credit card had changed, the account was sent to collections. Based on my experience, DirecTV's billing practices, constantly increasing monthly charges, poor customer service, and handling of cancellations fell far short of what customers should expect. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this service to review every bill carefully, question every price increase, and think twice before signing up.
Where should I start, My receiver in my bedroom was an H20 unit.Had been there a long time and decided just to not show local channels anymore.I spent 45 minutes on customer service.Just to order a replacement receiver. Then two weeks later , the one in my third floor bedroom had a loud pop, Puff of smoke came out, No more reception , no more lights , no more anything. When I called them again, they asked, would you like to upgrade to a genie?I said sure. I was entitled to it, seeing as I had been a customer over 15 years. The part they didn't tell me over the phone. After I had made the appointment with the technician.Because it was a genie system and they needed a technician to install it and activate it.They did not explain to me that my current dish set up on a roof which was almost 40 feet off.The ground was not compatible with the genie system. The technician who was very knowledgeable and very nice , said the easiest way to do this was to just cancel a service order and call directv directly and just order a replacement receiver just like I had done two weeks ago. Another 35 minutes on the phone with directv, and she asked me, is this a replacement receiver?I had told her once already.Yes , it's replacing the unit that smoked. She then proceeded to ask me, so you want a 4th receiver?I said, no I wish to replace the one that smoked.I will still only have three receivers registered. She then proceeded to shut off the smoked up receiver , which sounded fine to me cause not gonna be using that one anymore time soon. But now that she had shut off the receiver first. Now I have to reschedule a technician to come and put the new box in where the old one was. If she had not have shut off the receiver first, they could have simply mailed one to me and once I received it, I plug it in and it's done, why does this have to be so difficult? Now I will be 10 days without any satellite reception in that room. I repeat, this has nothing to do with the technician. He was very informative, polite and just genuine friendly guy.The technician should receive kudos. The people in customer service should be put in a set of stocks and get a whooping.
They should be given a zero Directv stopped broadcasting standard definition from their satellite two to three years ago, but they still charge me for the box telling me I’m supposed to call in when they shut the service down. Bunch of jerks just want money if you have a DIRECTV account cancel and subscribe to another service, let’s put them out of business.
Wow. DirecTV service sucks. We haven't had ABC for months while they continue their contract negotiations. My Mother with Alzheimer's just wants to watch the news with David Muir. Every day I have to explain that she can't. THEN, they raise our bill by $8.00 a month. I call, they can give me a one time credit of $8.00. Still no date on the return of ABC service. Spoke to a supervisor. Nope, they 'can't' do anything further. I've never had such poor customer service from a large company. No wonder they have 1.4 to 1.5 stars on average. Crappy reviews for a crappy company. F-you DirecTV.
